West Blue: Rise of the Village

Cat listened to the man, and believed him. Not because Cat was a lie detector, but because the man looked like the type that would play around before causing trouble. Cat sighed and let go of his hilt. The man walked to the woman Cat knocked down and helped her up, then the woman ran back into town. Cat didn't know why she was scared. If he wanted to kill her she would have been dead (The way Cat thinks). Suddenly he saw an older man walking up to Cat and the other man that Cat confused for a bad person. This older man looked familiar to Cat, but he didn't know why.

Cat looked closely at the man and immediately noticed his sword. Cat widened his stance and prepared himself. The other man didn't know the old man was now a suspect. "That sword... It's Iken's, where did you find it. I've seen that sword a million times. I could recognize it a mile away! Give it back!!" Cat lunged himself forward and at the enemy. His speed maxed itself at 25 miles per hour, which was fast for a normal man. Cat then swung his blade horizontally at the enemy expecting to hit him directly. He didn't give the man a chance to explain because he knew Iken was the type to never let go of the blade. Cat was more instinct then thoughts this moment. He didn't know if the other man would help him.

The doctor shifted his glassed onto his face tighter so they wouldn't fall off and possibly break during the battle.  Even with the speed Cat was coming at him, he didn't seem panic or in the least bit worried.  He was calm and collected, it almost looked like he was bored waiting for his foe.  The man raised his blade causing it to connect with Cat's seastone katana.  The collision caused sparks to fly off as the doctor redirected the force from Cat's attack away.  At the same time the doctor used the loose dirt under his feet to spin down and forward closing in on Cat.  The doctor used the fluid spinning movement not only to block and get in close, he also used it to attack once he was in down under Cat's defenses.  He used a quick horizontal slash directed at Cat's chest.  The attack wasn't all that strong, but it'd still leave a gash if it connected.  After all, he was just a frail old doctor that could never take down a pirate in one attack.  
 

Introduction Box: Ivan Schwartz "The Black Rat. Rat Bastard:

 
Iken had been around the cave a few times already, there was no apparent way out other than the way he came in.  Furthermore of the life of him, Iken could not figure out what the hell the system did.  He did, however find the initial start of the thing.  It was a rope with a red plastic handle on the end of it.  Now that he had given up on trying figuring out what it was for, Iken began to wonder something.  How the hell did he get the damned ship in the cave?  Then it hit him.  Iken ran over to the rope and pulled on it.  The cave began to shake, as large rocks fell from the ceiling and water poured in from an unknown source.  Iken leaped out of the way of a falling rock and fell into knee deep water than hadn't been then only seconds before.  
 
Iken ran for the ship, it was slowly trying to float away as the water rose.  It was difficult with the water rising so quickly and rocks that could kill him with on hit falling all over the place.  Iken decided to dive under the water and try to swim to the ship.  He closed the gap to an arm’s reach and tried to grab onto a rope ladder hanging from the side just as the ship lurched forward.  It was out of his reach as Iken tried desperately to grab ahold of the ship that was floating away at a good clip.  Iken lunged forward; kicking off of the flood just at a good sized chunk of the ceiling fell where he had just been.  Luckily Iken had managed to grab the rope, pulling himself out of danger.

Seeing the battle begin and noticing how out matched Cat was, Desais reached for the hilt of his blade. Breathing in and out Desais steadied himself and prepared himself for what will, and could come. Thoughts of when he first learned swordplay ran through his mind. Knowing very well that this opponent will not be an easy one, Desais grabbed onto his blade with two hands. Then, suddenly he lunged forward attempting to block the attack at Cat's chest. This shall be interesting. Desais thought as he smiled up at the doctor.

Cat felt his blade clash with the old man's blade. His strength stopped Cat on his tracks, which surprised him. The blade naturally continued to move towards another side, like the man had used Cat's force against him, and continued to spin. Suddenly Cat started to 'feel' the air around him. He felt the man drop and swing his sword. In that same moment he felt the other man clash against the old man. Cat didn't expect much to happen other then it slowing down the attack. Cat immediately lowered himself after quickly regaining his stance after his attack by placing his left foot forward. Cat lunged himself downwards, with the sword already drawn, and pointed it at the enemy.
 
Immediately the sword split forward in a second, like a rocket, and attempted to penetrate the opponent's abdomen. The attack was made while the other man clashed with the old man, but Cat made sure to do it quickly. The old man was very strong, and agile, Cat had problems with him. Cat immediately used the attack then moved around his legs so he could go in a complete circle. Cat had his back turned to the enemy by this point and had his sword by his side. Cat bent his knees and waited for something to happen with the 'help' he was getting. If he penetrated the old man then blood would start to pull towards Cat's back.

The doctor stood up using the force of only one of his arms and the cursed blade to pushes Desais back and down in a submissive possition. Imeadiatly he readied the blade and defended against Cat's close range lung in an instant using only a small piece of the blade up close to the hilt. He once again let the seastone blade slide against his redirecting the sword away. The came close to Desais before Cat spun around putting himself behind Ivan.

The doctor used Desais and the low postion he was in by stepping on his sword and backflipping overtop of Cat. He wasn't confident enough in his balance to try and attack, however he was more than able to defend whilst mid-air. Ivan landed in a crouched position, sliding back a few inches in the loose dirt. He was ready for their next assult holding the sword in front of him with one hand and his arm out with his finger pointed forward as if he would stab them with it.

Iken had climbed the rope ladder and was now steering the ship the best he could. He specialized in navigation, but for his level this kind of shit was insane. Giant rocks falling and the floor falling out and then being replaced by water. The path had fallen away making it much larger, but still for the ship it was rather narrow. The sides scrapped agains the walls as Iken prayed it would hold together until he got out and sail upto the port.

After being put down on the ground by the doctor, Desais braced for a hit. When none arrived, Desais decided to move out of the way. Arching his head back, and moving his hands towards the ground behind him, Desais did a backwards handstand. When on his hands, Desais pushed off the ground so as to lift himself up into the air and landed back on his feet. Once back on his feet, Desais saw the doctor go up and over Cat and land not far from where Cat was. Wow this guy is pretty agile for an old geezer. Thought Desais as he readied his blade for a strike.

Aiming his blade forward, Desais rushed towards the doctor. Instead of aiming for the doctor's chest, Desais went for his legs. Taking a clean, two handed slice down towards the doctor's feet and then following up with and up slice to the head. Desais wasn't trying to kill the doctor but to merely throw him off guard, so that he may be able to take advantage of it. Either himself or Cat who seemed to want to get some answers out of the guy.

Cat felt the old man jump over him. Without Cat even looking he took his blade and aimed it upwards. Without hesitation Cat lunged the sword forward in a direct impact motion. He wanted to stab the opponent while he was in the air. The attack would be fast, but not as fast as his other attack. He aimed to stab him in the chest area. When he landed on the ground and slid backwards the other man rushed past Cat and attempted to slice the old man's legs. While he did that Cat ran forward, with his great balance, without worrying about the outcome of the forward strike. Cat looked at the opponent without worries about what would happen.
 
Cat slid his legs around so he was in front of the opponent but with his back to him. Immediately Cat spun around in a complete circle while the opponent dropped his guard. The slash was aimed high at the opponent. At the same time Cat took out his sheath and attempted to slam the opponents hand with it. It was supposed to hit the thumb, and hard, so it would disarm him. Cat was using his shieth in one hand and his dark green blade in the other.

The man was free to defend with Iken's sword while in the air, the stab attack did nothing but graze the blade. Ivan drove the sword into the ground using it as a medium to both block and dodge Desais' attacks. He would merely use the sword to swing his body ever so slightly, that it would cause him to evade the attack of the novice swordsman. With his free hand the doctor attempted to uppercut and then kick Desais in his midsection. The result of the attack would cause Desais to fall backwards if it was successful.

With his perception the doctor was able to see Cat's attack coming even with Desais as a distraction. He quickly leaned back with his slender body to avoid the intial attack. However the secondary attack hit his thumb. Ivan dropped the sword. Enraged by Cat's success he transformed into his hybrid form. He slashed upwards with his sharp claws on his right hand and then diaganally with his left, aiming for Cat's chest.

The ship shot out of the cave and into the ocean. IKen sighed in relief as he was safe for the time being. The captain sailed the ship, that was much larger than what he was used to towards the port. With the class of ship it took much less time than what Iken had intisipated. Iken began to like the ship more and more. Within ten minutes Iken had reached and docked the ship. Leaping overboard, he ran toward town. It would take him at least five minutes to reach main street at his top speed.

No surprise that Ivan had blocked Desais oncoming attack. Seeing the oncoming uppercut, Desais leaned his head out of them way. Then, suddenly Desais was hit in his midsection and knocked to the ground. He had no way to defend against the hit. Falling to the ground, Desais quickly grabbed for his two flintlocks. As you looked forward towards his opponent Ivan, he saw the horrible transformation. Woah! Such a guy has consumed a devil fruit?! Desais thought in awe not horror. He had heard of devil fruits from back in his hometown, but not once seen someone who had consumed one. Desais one day had hoped to find one for himself.

Snapping back into reality, Desais aimed hard towards Ivan's chest with his flintlock. He fired one off directly at his chest, and then fired the second one off towards his legs. Putting away the flintlocks, Desais quickly got up and picked up his sword. After his two shots, Desais rushed into the fray again. Holding his sword in his right hand, Desais swung it downward from Ivan's left shoulder towards his right hip.

Cat was temporarily surprised when he saw the man transform into a rat-like creature. Cat had only seen a handful of devil fruit users, and they've all been this year! Ever since he decided to take sail it's been one devil fruit user after another!! At least this one wasn't a logia, though, which should make things easier. However, this train of thought was changed when the rat quickly, and without hesitation, attempted to strike Cat with its claws. Cat felt the other man behind him with his two 'pistols' aiming at the rat. Cat anticipated the attack, somehow, and reacted before the opponent swung its claws. Cat moved himself out of the direction of the first attack, despite its speed being so much greater then Cat's, and positioned his sword in a blocking stance for the second strike while he dropped his sheath on his left hand. The rat-man struck Cat's Katana and sent him sliding back several meters. However, one thing was new. Cat had the legendary saber on his left hand.
 
While the opponent attacked Cat he decided to drop his sheath and grab the other sword while it was still in the ground. With Cat's perception he was able to pinpoint it on the ground very easily. The rat-man would also be too preoccupied dodging two bullets and a man with a sword to grab the saber; of course Cat didn't think this far ahead. All he knew was that he needed to get the sword away from the ran man not just because he was dangerous with it, but because it was Iken's. Cat sheathed his sword and positioned himself with the saber. All Cat knew now was that the safest place for Iken's sword without Iken was with Cat. Although.. Cat kind of missed the weird effects that came with his Katana. He didn't know much about Iken's sword other then it being hard.

The town’s people gasped a collective gasp as they watched from the buildings surrounding the scence of the fight.  Their doctor had just transformed into this shot weird and disgusting looking little man with fur all over his body and a long whip like rat tail.  At first they didn't know what to make of it.  Sure they were repulsed but having a devil fruit didn't necessary mean something bad.  There were plenty of people with devil fruits that didn't mean any harm, people in the marines for example.  However it wasn't long before some of the old timers began to recognize the rat man for who he really was.  He was a Grandline pirate, which hailed from West Blue decades before.  He was the captain of the rat pack pirates.  They were an especially brutal group that wreaked havoc in the West Blue before heading to the Grandline.  Whispers and gossip spread through the town like a wild fire though of drought ridden forest.  

Ivan could hear them, the whispers and silent horror of them realizing just who had been treating them for all of those years.  It was almost an unbearable pressure on his shoulders and it was all because of these pirates.  He hadn't planned on staying long after he got the sword, but still his cover was blown and that infuriated him.  These pirates had to pay, and pay with their lives.  His rage like dream distracted him for a moment until a tell tail click was heard.  The doctors sharp rat like eared picked up the clicking of the hammer when Desais cocked his gun.  He leaped into the air sideways before transforming into his smaller full form combining the speed of his hybrid form and the small stature of his full form to avoid both of the shots by several feet.  
 
Ivan held firm and waited for Desais' attack.  The dog sized rat attempted grab the sword with its teeth, biting down on it.  With the massive teeth of his full form, his level of devil fruit mastery, and level of strength, Ivan would have easily shattered the cheap cutlass that Desais was using.  While he blocked the sword with his massive rat teeth he used his tail and tried to whip Desais in the face with it.  If the attack hit it would likely leave a deep gash if not break Desais' nose outright.

Amazed that the rat man had dodged both his bullets, not only quickly, but with lots of room to spare. This made Desais crave having devil fruit powers even more so. The man standing in front of him was so amazing to Desais that it made him feel bad that he had gotten into the fray. Although he knew he had already gone too far. He knew if he tried to stop the fight now, it would just give the doctor a chance to kill him. Stepping out of his mind for a moment and back into the fight, Desais saw the rat man had stopped his blade with his teeth. Well isn't this a predicament. Thought Desais as he realized his ammo was depleted and now his weapon was useless.

Suddenly, Desais noticed the tail of Ivan heading for his face. Desais has only a moment possibly even a second to figure out what he should do. He realized it would be it for him if this blow lands. Thus, he realized he couldn't hold the blade anymore. For why should he, the jaw had already locked it into place. There was no way he could possibly retrieve it in time to use it. In the end Desais decided to let go and jump out of the way. With one quick and precise movement Desais jumped five feet backwards mere moments before the tail crashed into the ground. Sighing with relief for dodging such an attack, Desais looked at his opponent.

Whispers from the buildings nearby clogged up his ears. Desais looked all around at the buildings and sighed. Getting out of his battle stance, he calmed down. "Wow, so you are a doctor eh? Now look at what these worthless people think of you. All because you used to be a pirate. Is this really the world we live in?" Desais questioned as you pointed at the people in the buildings. "YOU WORTHLESS BASTARDS! So this is how you thank someone who has helped you all out and watched your unforgiving backs!" Desais screamed in outrage towards the people. Then he looked back at Ivan. "Listen, if you want you can join me at least for the time being and get out of here." Desais offered the man.

Ada had been nursing the ill boy when the doctor appeared. She had felt something... off about the doctor from the beginning, but decided against commenting anything since he was treating him. She sighed and stepped away, letting the doctor do his thing. She heard him mentioning that she should not let him drink the alcohol and that he wanted to have a word with the other man, the rather healthier one. Ada then was about to mention something to the man, about the doctor, but had no time, as they left seconds after saying that. She looked down at her hands and sighed one more time, feeling pretty useless. All Ada had done was giving them somewhere to stay for the while and some food and water, all of which she did not gain by her own work, more like her parents'. Ada was starting to believe that she had to become someone independent, or rather more than what she was right now (totally dependent of her parents and everyone surrounding her).

She sat down on the floor next to the stranger and her eyes widened slightly once he woke up again, drank the soup and ran towards her, pinching her cheek and then jumping out of the window. Ada was really confused and shocked, but after some seconds she got over it and started laughing really hard. It had been a while since she had laughed so hard. Ada was known for being really cheerful but lately she had been feeling like there was something missing. Usually, she would be slightly mad (as Ada is incapable of being entirely pissed off, most of the times anyway) if people pinched her cheeks, but when the stranger did it, she actually felt... relieved. Quite possibly because he had been really ill and him doing something like that showed that he was feeling better.

However, once Ada had registered everything that had happened she became worried. He just woke up! And now he jumped out of the window and ran away? What am I supposed to tell the doctor when he comes back? Ahhh I'm in so much trouble... specially with the boy's friend..., Ada was getting really worried, but she also realized that neither the man or the doctor had returned, and it had already been a rather long while. Ada was really nervous, what if her suspicions were true? What if the doctor wasn't as nice as everyone thought he was? Nah, I must be going insane, she thought, diminishing her bad thoughts about the doctor. Her final option was to sit down on her couch and wait for everyone to come back. After a bit of thinking she came up with the idea of the boy going to meet up with his friend, after all he must have been frightened, waking up in a room alone with a complete stranger. She would sympathize with him. Ada smiled softly thinking about the boy, and his friend. They both seemed like nice people, and specially because they gave off a nice aura.

A while passed and Ada started hearing people talking loudly, almost panicking. She went out of the private room and entered the lounge, where most of the clients were. They all looked worried and afraid. But what were they afraid of? "What's happening in here?" Ada asked a woman, who seemed slightly more calmed than the rest, but still rather scared herself. The woman, Julianne, explained to Ada that there was some turmoil some streets away, some people fighting and causing a lot of trouble. It seemed like they were pirates. For once, the first thought that appeared in Ada's mind wasn't about her parents or even herself, no she thought about the pair of relatively ill-boys that had ran off to god knows where with such health conditions. Ada bit into her nails, something she almost never did, but only turned to the nasty habit when she was really stressed out. Running towards the kitchen, Ada grabbed a chef's knife and left the café, running towards the direction she was told the trouble had happened and the fight was apparently still going on.

What she saw only affirmed her previous suspicions. The doctor was attacking the boy and some other man who she had yet to meet. Ada hid behind a building, its shadow protecting her from the view of all of them. She wondered where the friend was, and if he was fine and healthy (or at least alive). She crouched down and closed her eyes for some seconds pondering what option could be better: hiding and waiting until she's really needed; or going out and helping both of them, even if she would probably be dead weight, a burden. At moments like these her feelings of uselessness amplified and it made Ada feel bad. She could feel tears forming in her eyes as her lower lip trembled. She couldn't do anything but watch her newly made friend battle against a man she had felt had bad intentions from the moment he appeared. If only I had told them before it was too late..., Ada thought as she continued to watch the fight.

Cat didn't like that the person he was with offered to help the old man. Even for Cat it sounded like a horrible idea. The man that is currently helping Cat probably didn't know that the rat was trying to kill the duo, with the sword of Cat's friend! Cat immediately ran forward and stopped in front of Desais. He held the sword horizontally and turned it around so he could defend himself if anything happened. Cat was prepared to defend himself from the creature in front of them. That creature had more speed then Cat could possibly hope for countering.

While briefly looking at the crowd with his peripheral vision Cat was able to spot the woman he remembered from earlier. She was the one that he pinched her cheek. Cat waved at her for a brief second, while still focusing on the rat man in front of his vision. To the crowd it would look like Cat knew her. Cat then went back to looking at the rat in front of him. It was obvious that hell was going to break lose soon, if not Cat was going to kill the doctor if he tried to go on their ship. After all, the man got a hold of a sword that didn't belong to him.. somehow. Cat thought Iken's disappearance was no coincidence. His tactical knowledge was just enough to state the obvious. he had Iken's sword, and Iken was nowhere to found.

"BAHAHAHAHA!" Even in his rat form the foe laughed at Desais. Desais was amusing in a god he's stupid kind of way. People like him annoyed Ivan; men like him walked the plank if they ever found their way upon the ships of the Rat Pack. "Boy, I was planning on razing this village before burning it to the ground. I'd have killed them one by one, family after family. To watch them run and scream in fear as I took everything from them would be the just payback for all I've had to endure over the years. They were nothing but livestock to me, something to slaughter and reap the benefits from!" exclaimed the doctor as he morphed into his hybrid form.

"Sigh. However, now it's appeared I've taken too long." he said looking at the shore. In the distance a marine ship could be seen approaching the docks. Men in the crowd were also arming their-selves. Pitchforks and an occasional sword were held by the men. Most of them had just grabbed whatever they could. They were many and figured that would be enough to drive out the pirates one and all. The people didn't seem to care whether it was Ivan or Cat or Desais, they yelled and cursed the pirates threatening them with suggestive, but distant jabs with their weapons.

More than a few eyebrows were raised when Cat waved at the girl sitting in the shadows behind the building. Cat's high perception and observation haki could often be a curse in such situations. Whispers spread through the crowd, and suspicion grew against young, innocent Ada. Of course they all knew her and her family, but until recently they also thought they had known Ivan too. There was a good chance that Ivan was the one that delivered Ada and a good number of the younger generation of the village. It was all too confusing and at that point it seemed like a better option to be safe than sorry. A few of the men began to advance towards Ada; they carefully watched her; or more specifically the knife she held.

The people were like a volcano that was about to spill over, about to erupt into a panic. It would only take a small tremor of deed to make them go off in a rage that could be deadly to more than just the pirates that were completely surrounded. The doctor scanned the area; he had planned to kill the entire village; however that didn't include fighting them all when he was outnumbered 100 to one. Even with the other pirates there, he was still at least outnumbering by twenty-five to one. He didn't want to find out if his powers would be enough to fight them all off, especially with marines on their way.

Ivan lunged forward using both his front and hind legs to increase his speed. He clawed his way through the men heading for Ada, taking their weapons and used them to skewer a number of others that tried to advance on him. To the doctor the knife Ada held was of no threat, he could easily turn it into scrap with one quick swipe of his claws. The men in-between him and Ada did little to slow him down. Regardless, it was enough as a thick plank of wood shattered as it connected against his skull causing him to fall back. The impact caused blood to run down Ivan's head and into his fur. Iken held his right hand to his side. His hand was fracture from the impact, if not the wrist too. At the very least he could still move his fingers if just barely due to the throbbing pain. His endurance was high enough that he was able to not let on that he was in that much pain.

The doctor's eyes widened and let out a shriek of surprise at the site of the captain. "I killed you! You should have died from your wounds or at the very least the fall. It's impossible; you should have been skewered by the jagged rocks. I designed that cave myself to kill anyone that fell down there." he said in a combination of powerful rage and a fearful staggering words.

He was right, the doctor knew his stuff. Even if Iken's wounds were all superficial, which they were, it added up. Iken was exhausted and not to mention he had lost a good amount of blood in the time since he had faced off against the doctor. If the battle continued any longer, Iken would die. However the doctor was in a similar situation, the marines and the towns people weren't necessarily a formidable force alone, but when combined wasn't something the doctor wanted to test his ability against. He morphed into his full form and used his long tail as a whip to make an opening spewing dust and dirty into their eyes and faces. Using the opening he scurried off towards the building he had his office in. The men ran after him to take their pound of flesh.

Iken patted Ada on the head to try and reassure her that everything was going to be alright. "You had better come with us. The marines generally don't discriminate between people like me and someone like you. If they suspect you're connected to us, they'll take you away or worse." Iken said stumbling as he tried to take a step forward. Iken knelt down trying to catch his breath. "There's a ship at the docks. We can get away in it. The marines shouldn't know it's a pirate ship, since I took down his flag. It just looks like an old cargo ship." he said implying that they leave him behind and head for the ship.

After hearing what Ivan said, Desais became enraged. Before he could do anything he heard the commotion and saw what Ivan looked at. Shit, this doesn't look good. Desais thought as stood his ground in a defensive manner. The mob of people just all suddenly appeared. They didn't look very friendly to Desais, in fact they looked bloodthirsty and ready to kill at a moments notice. Desais looked around at everyone, making certain he doesn't get run through from an attack. Without any warning, Desais saw Ivan begin killing off a group of people and heading for the ships. It seemed like a good idea to follow behind him, until he took a bludgeoning to the head. The attack seemed to erupt the people around him, and they started rushing towards him with their weapons. Desais gracefully dodged a few here and there but a couple grazed him and almost met their mark.

Suddenly, a man ran up telling the others that they should head for the boat. Not knowing whether he should trust him or not, Desais followed his lead. I mean what else was he gonna do? Clearly these people considered an enemy and not an ally. These people weren't taking a second thought. They were definitely gonna run him through. Without a second thought, Desais began weaving through the mob and towards where Iken was going. Plenty of blades and pitchforks dug into Desais's body. Since, he no longer had his weapons he had no way of defending himself against the attacks. All he could do was dodge them, or make it so the wound wasnt fatal.

Finally making his way out of the mob, Desais began sprinting for the ship. Gushing blood from all over his body, Desais rushed as fast as he could. Feeling a little exhausted from the running and getting a bit dizzy from the blood loss, Desais continued. Man, I never knew people could be so cruel. Desais thought as he learned more about the people of the world. Just when things seemed hopeless, Desais made it to the ship and fell down out of exhaustion and blood loss. Desais quickly began making quick bandages out of his clothing to stop the bleeding.

Ada wanted to curse under her breathe when the boy she had helped waved at her. She didn't know what to do, her hiding place had been discovered and now she could be in danger. Ada also noticed that the people in town had started whispering about her, and how she could be one of them, deceiving them for a long time, just like the doctor. Ada wanted to defend herself, tell everyone that she hadn't done anything wrong, but she had no time as people started to walk slowly towards her, holding dangerous weapons and seemingly watching her every move. The hand that was holding the kitchen knife started to shake as she tried to figure out something to do. She would be in great danger if she stayed there.

However before she could do anything the doctor started running towards her, killing and attacking everyone that was in his way. Ada could feel cold sweat making its way down her spine as she waited for her turn. She was regretting many things at that moment, however there was one thing that stood out from most, how she regretted never making a difference. She was Ada, the chef at a family café. Her parents loved her and so did everyone in town. But what did she really do? Just bake cookies and other desserts that she was asked for. She didn't do anything relevant, she didn't know the world. Besides, she was just 19 years old, she was too young to die... She didn't want to die. Ada could feel a scream forming at the bottom of her throat as she tried to suppress it.

Just as the doctor stood almost in front of her, someone hit him with a wooden plank in the head. She saw the man that had been accompanying the boy (or the other way around, she wasn't sure), and after that disappeared into his office or something of the like. He came and patted Ada in the head, which caused her to blush. Then he mentioned how they had to leave, including herself, because people could suspect her and the marines could do her harm. She looked down, not quite knowing how she felt about this. On one hand she was glad that she would finally be able to make a difference, to do something for the better. On the other hand however, she would be leaving her loving parents without even saying goodbye, which saddened her terribly. "Okay..." she mentioned softly. And started walking towards the ship.

Cat looked around when the people started to inch closer to the group of pirates. Even the rat man, whom was stronger then Cat and faster, tried to get away from the situation. The rat man tried to attack the person Cat waved at, which was the woman from earlier, but he got hit in the face by a plank. Iken had finally arrived. The crowd started to huddle around the group, and the rat man turned and ran with his tail under his legs. Iken mentioned a ship that was located some distance away. The problem was getting there. The other man and the woman were now under his and Iken's protection, apparently. This reminded Cat of his old village, back when he was a guard. When Cat saw Desais and Ada walk away he motioned towards Iken, "You shouldn't be dropping your blade Iken, you scared me. The only way I'd lose my pointy sword is if I was dead."

Cat walked towards Iken and planted the sword on the ground. Cat smiled. He turned around and faced the crowd in front of him. He walked towards his sheath and picked it up after bending his knees slightly against the ground. He placed the tip of the blade in the sheath first then quickly pushed it inside. Cat looked around at the crowd and jogged beside Iken; Cat placed his hand on the end of the hilt. Cat was going to try his best to hold off the crowd unless Iken told him otherwise. Fighting a group of people shouldn't be hard anymore; for some reason Cat felt almost invincible.

Iken stood up, but his balance was wobbly making hi progress towards the ship rather slow.  The people were more interested in the doctor than they were with Iken and his group.  However they still were cautious with the pirates.  The people attempted to force the group to stay put as the marines were making their way from the docks.  Iken took up his sword and placed it on his holding onto the hilt.  "Cat, I won't ever let my guard down again.  I won't let my sword fall into the wrong hands; they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands." Iken said trying to stand tall.  
 
"Cat defend only, we don't need to kill these people, they're just scared and confused." he said as he drew his sword and sliced through the handle of a wooden pitchfork that was shoved in his direction.  Even an action as small as that, now made him breathe hard.  Iken had to lean on his sword; he used it as a cane.  To try and hide it, he adapted his style to work from that position.  He was trying to make using his sword in such a way look as natural as possible.  For the most part, he was failing badly.  
 
All of the sudden, something came for seemingly out of nowhere, smacked Iken in the back of the head.  The blow wasn't strong enough to do any damage to someone like Iken, but in his condition it caused him to fall forward.  He hit the ground face first, with a thud.  Iken was dizzy, but he had the mental capacity, if not the instinct to roll over onto his back.  A man with a shovel just missed Iken, the shovel shallowly dug into the ground.  Iken pulled his sheath and jabbed the man in the stomach causing the man's ribs to snap physically and audibly.  He was now breathing heavier than ever, Iken struggled as grabbed on to Cat and pulled himself up slowly.  
 
"You should just go to the ship for now...I'll catch up later." Iken said looking away trying to conceal his lie.

The winds began to change. There was a cold breeze blowing upon them that had been picking up steadily. The sky began to get dark as the clouds rolled in from the ocean. They were dark clouds; some were grey while others were black and menacing. There was something coming, or something was going to happen. It was as if a divine rage was brewing in the heavens.

Suddenly, Desais realized that the "ship" he made it to was just a wood pile nearby. Getting up Desais saw the Cat, Iken, and Ada. Picking up a plank, Desais headed over in their direction and tried to fend off the bloodthirsty crowd. Desais overheard Iken saying that they should leave them behind. "No way are we leaving you behind. I may not know you, but I'm involved in this with you. We shall not and will not be leaving you behind, not in the state your in." Desais said as he smiled a weak smile at Iken.

A few people here and there attempted to strike at the group, but missed or had their attack blocked. The group walked slowly to the ship and it seemed to take forever. "We are going! Why don't you leave us alone! We meant no harm. We are only defending ourselves." Desais yelled at the people who cast the group aside so quickly. The aggravation Desais felt for the people before, had now erupted even further. He's never met a group, or even a town of people who treated others the way they did. Desais couldn't believe it, and he didn't want to believe it. Sadly, it was true, whether he wanted to believe it or not.

Cat looked at the crew with sadness in his eyes. Iken told Cat specifically to only defend, never attack. But when Cat walked, slowly, behind Iken he saw one man hit him behind the head with a shovel. The man then tried to kill Iken with it. Cat cringed his teeth as he moved his head side to side depending on the people trying to hurt him. At one point he was attacked by several giant forks, and Cat put his sword in a blocking position stopping all 5 people on their tracks. Cat then used his sheath to trip all of them and cause them to fall to the ground. Cat wanted to kill most of them for trying to hurt the crew, and his anger was building up. Iken told Cat to make it to the ship, so now he had to make it there so Iken could catch up. Cat wasn't smart enough to see through his lie, so he ran forward hoping he would follow. Cat ran 25 mph and grabbed Ada from behind. His left hand was under her bum.

Cat ran through the streets with his sea stone katana out. Every third person tried to swing at Cat and he kept stopping, pivoting, dropping, and in some instances stopping them with his katana. Then came five people that seemed to intentionally block the area to their ship. They probably stood in the middle of the road by coincidence. Cat didn't hesitate to run towards them and spin in the air. His sword cut all of them horizontally, but it was all in the chest area. They all fell to the ground and Cat continued to run forward. Eventually he arrived on the ship and dropped her to the ground.

Iken sighed in relief when Cat took Ada and ran towards the ship.  This meant Iken didn't have to hold back anymore.  Ada wasn't there to be a witness to his potential cruelty; he wanted to at least spare her from that.  Iken drew his sword from its sheath as four people came at him with their weapons pointed at him.  "Lumber Jack" he waited for the perfect moment before attacking.  Iken not only sliced through their weapons, but the people as well.  Turning his head Iken glared at the crowd before flicking off the blood from his weapon at them.  The crowd that had been following them stopped in their tracks, the situation somehow had become much more dangerous in their eyes.  
 
Iken sheathed his sword and began limping back down the road that leads to the docks.  On the way to the docks, Iken and Desais ran into the marines that were sent to determine the severity of the issue.  It immediately looked like Desais and Iken were going to have problems.  One of the marines stopped them.  
 
"Hold it!  What's going on here?" the marine asked eyeing the two.  
 
"Nothing, we're fleeing from the town.  They went nuts when their doctor turned out to be some pirate." Iken answered mixing truth with deceit.
 
"Uhuh...I see.  That's strange because we received a call about two young men being the pirates.  Two young men that fit your description pretty well." said the marine as the rest of them began to gather around the two.  
 
[Meanwhile]
 
Ivan transformed into his hybrid form, he smashed through the door of his office.  The woman sitting at the reception desk screamed and ran out.  He ran into a backroom and opened a trap door that was made to look like just another part of the floor.  Ivan transformed into his full form and ran down the tunnel.  The mob gathered around his office, but they were hesitant to enter.  They had all seen what he could do when he got close to them.  As they mulled over what to do, one of the men threw a torch through the window.  Almost instantly the building exploded, the place had been rigged to explode behind the doctor.  Good thing no one actually went inside like he thought they would have.  
 
[Iken and Desais]
 
An explosion came from the town, followed by a tall black billow of smoke that blended in with the clouds.  Iken looked up; he could feel it starting to sprinkle.  The marines turned their attention to the town.  Noticing such, Iken grabbed Desais' arm and pulled him along.  The group of marines went on their way with haste.  Two, two bit pirates weren't the biggest problem the town had, that much became obvious.  Thanks to the unexpected distraction the two made it to the ship without having to confront that group of marines.

Ada was surprised when she was suddenly picked up by the man she had nursed and looked after for some hours. Her eyes widened slightly and after some seconds of deep thought, she realized that he had picked her up because she was really slow and would probably put them in danger. Ada made it a goal to start training and become faster, so at least she wouldn't be dead weight, like she was as of now. Looking away from the boy's face, and instead facing forward, Ada couldn't wait to get to the ship. She thought about her parents for a fraction of second, but decided that they would be happy for her, living an adventure, and that they wouldn't believe the lies involving her and the doctor. He was the only mean person. Ada knew that the doctor probably had his reasons and wasn't all bad, because he had, after all, cured the boy that was now holding her. He seemed in a way better condition, although not 100% healthy.

As they continued making their way to the ship, people kept trying to stop them, and possibly do harm to them. Ada understood that it was because they were scared, they thought that Ada and the boy were the bad guys, but it still hurt Ada to know that her people, the people that had seen her grow and become a woman, had turned their backs on her so easily, without any prove at all. A small, but sad smile, stayed on her face as the man continued stopping, blocking and even attacking the people that tried to stop them, until they finally arrived at what was supposedly the ship. Ada was dropped and she stood up, staring at the ship in front of her.

"I'm not aware of the power your friend has, or even the amount of injuries he has right now, but I do know that a lot of people are trying to hurt him" she mentioned to the boy while not looking at him. She closed her eyes and sighed. "I must admit, however, that I'm extremely worried about his well being" after saying that she turned to the man she had helped. "I'm safe here, and I won't move, I'll hide and wait for you guys. So please, please, go help your friend" Ada grabbed the man's hands and looked into his eyes. "He looked really tired, exhausted, and it seemed like he could barely stand. He saved me, I helped you when you were feeling bad, so please listen to me and go help your friend" Ada said tearing up slightly and her cheeks slightly red. Then an explosion seemed to occur, and she saw a crowd of people on the other side of the dock. The marines?, Ada thought in her head. Tears were rolling down her face freely now. "GO, PLEASE" she screamed as she covered her face with her hands. She didn't want them being hurt. But if he went and helped, the injuries would possibly be left, and the probability of them living would be higher.

Desais was surprised as he saw Cat pick up Ada and leave the both of them. Wow, I can't believe they left. Well I guess it is for the best. Desais thought as he blocked some oncoming pitchforks and hit a couple of people with a light whack of his plank he held. Out of the corner of his eye, Desais saw Iken get up. The man that seemed so weak and damaged had appeared to have lost all his pain and damage. He didn't seem like he was wounded in the slightest, although he was. This man.....what sort of power does he have? I knew I was right in following that other man. This has all been extremely interesting. Desais thought as he saw the man beside him slice through the weapons and a few people like they were nothing. This had shocked and awed Desais at the sheer power this man has.

Desais and Iken kept on heading towards the ship when they ran into some marines. Great now we may have to deal with these guys. Desais thought as he noticed Iken cleverly trying to talk his way out of the fight. Lucky enough for them a large explosion occurred nearby. Without a second, Iken grabbed Desais's arm and they rushed to the ship. Once there, Desais couldn't help but keep his eyes on the man. "What's your name sir?" Desais asked with curiosity. I will follow this man to the ends of the earth. He is the one I have been looking for. I swear on this day to help make this guy the next pirate king. Desais had thought after all that he had seen.

Cat nodded when he heard Ada speak. She was terrified of what would happen to Iken apparently. She only just met him and she was already looking out for his well-being. Cat turned around, ready to leave and look for Iken, and saw that they had already caught up. The other man and Iken were already on their way to the shore. When Cat looked behind Iken he didn't see a crowd of people, which was a good sign. It was only when they came back that the other man asked Iken for his name. Cat walked up to Iken and the other man, whose name he didn't know yet, and spoke to them in a lazy-ish tone.
 
"I guess we're leaving then? Let's make sure we never come back to this place. If I ever see another angry villager again it'll be too late." Cat meant 'soon', but his inability to keep educated sentences together made him say the wrong word. Cat walked back to the ship, through the sandy beach, in a slow motion. He was waiting for Iken to make it to the ship first. Once they got on the ship the next obvious step would be to get out of the island and sail towards the next one. Hopefully they won't get called evil pirates in the next one, that title was starting to annoy even Cat. Although even he knew that becoming a pirate would have its own advantages and disadvantages. The one advantage is the pictures of him that he keeps finding, he was famous!
