You have 10 candles, they just can't be used again.

There chemical composition has not changed, they are still candles (except for the wick) but they have been used, so they cannot be reused.

1.It is the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space, the beginning of the end, and the end of every space.

2.The Pope has it but he does not use it. Your father has it but your mother uses it. Nuns do not need it. Your lady friend's husband has it and she uses it. What is it?

3.What is it that when you take away the whole, you still have some left over?

Porc's correct about number 1. Number 2...I have a guess...but it's likely incorrect and it's definitely wrong. Number 3...is a donut (doughnut if you want Ye Olde Englishe version. XP)

ok heres a hard one

you are locked in a room. the door will unlock in 44 minutes, and then lock again in 46 minutes. you are given two ropes and a lighter. each rope burns for 1 hour. however, the rope will burn at varying speed, so it may start burning slowly, then speed up. Or it may burn fast, then slow down in the middle, then speed up at the end. you dont know.
using the two ropes, find 45 minutes so you can escape. there is no trick, it is math/logic. this one took me 2 hours in a car ride btw

Wait. If the door will just unlock after a set period of time, why not just just keep turning the handle. Sure you'd get bored really quick but you'd have your way out.

in the original telling you die if you touch the handle not in the unlocked time period, ill just say you get one chance to turn the handle. believe me theres a way to do it using the ropes

Well yah. The ropes burn at different rates so you can use them as a rudimentary timer. By the time I figured out exactly how to do it however, I wouldn't know how many minutes passed since I started. So I'd probably miss the opening.
