| Subject: [Finished] Temple Fugate [Doctor] Thu Jul 25, 2013 10:31 am | |
| Name: Temple Fugate Age: 35 Bounty: 5,000 beli Species: Human Occupation: Doctor, Amateur Watchmaker, chemist Allegiance: Pirate Home Village/Ocean: Drum island Appearance: History: - Spoiler:
Temple was a man of impecable timeliness. His mother had a very terminal illness and needed to take her medication at exactly 1 o'clock twice a day. Dreaming of becoming a doctor to develop a cure for his mother's illness, he studied hard, but his father didn't approve of his dreams. His father was a watchmaker, as had every man before him in their family. It was a legacy that was in their very blood.
But Temple didn't want to be a clockmaker, all his life he had heard the ticking of clocks click through his ears and it was driving him crazy. He wanted out of the house more than ever by the time his eighteenth birthday came. His father had been late, something he had never been before. Angry at his father, Temple refused to look at him, choosing instead to keep his head buried in his text books. By the time dinner was over and his mother returned to bed, Temple and his father continued their daily fight. This time though, Temple found himself kicked out of the house, his text books thrown in his face, breaking cracks into his glasses. Temple became furious and left to become a doctor, graduating at the highest of his graduating class.
Now a surgeon, Temple returned, but found his home sold to a new couple. A happy little couple who knew nothing about clocks, the husband had turned their family business into a cafe, removing all but one of the clocks, the grandiose of them all sitting on the wall in the back, dust settling on the glass. Temple received his father's adress and found him a widower. Enraged, Temple beat his father, blaming him for failing to keep time, his extracurricular activities having given him a black belt in Hapkido to keep his body in shape. After throwing his father across the room, Temple lifted his father up and for the first time in years, looked upon his face. realizing that this man was not his father at all, Temple demanded an explanation.
The man explained. He had been Temple's father's best friend throughout his life, but he had been hiding quite a few secrets from him. He loved Temple's mother and hated the constant complaining Temple's father gave at their nightly meetings at the bar. The man decided to see if he could live the man's life any better, nocking out his friend and dressing up in his clothes. They were of similar build and looked relatively the same after a good shave, so only Temple would have noticed the differences. But Temple had refused to look upon him that night when they had their fight.
After he had kicked out Temple, he returned to where he had hid his friend's body, only to find that he had hit him too hard. His friend was dead and he had stolen everything from him. Dumping his body in the waters, he told himself that he would have to live his friend's life forever now, but found that he had been five minutes past 1 am when he returned. Temple's mother was late getting her meds and died before he could even get back home.
Furious, Temple continued to savagely beat the man to death until the police arrive, notified by a concerned neighbor who had heard the commotion. Temple was dragged out, but upon being taken away, Temple could hear the ticking of the clocks once more. Realizing he must be growing crazy, Temple realized that the cart his a bump exactly every 12.2568 minutes. Hitting his foot right down as the cart hit its bump exactly, Temple derailed the cart and timely took care of all of the officers.
Making his way out of town, Temple polished his glasses, still cracked from his first fight with his "father". Deciding that this world had no place for him and he had no place for this world, he set sail, turning to a life of crime to see where his passions would take him.
His first trip though was not what you would expect, having had no knowledge of sea-travel, Temple was easily swept at sea by the waves. His shattered boat picked up by another pirate ship, Temple found himself a prisoner. Getting on good terms with the captain after he fixed his watch, Temple was nightly invited to their poker tournament. But temple found that these poker games were not held by the pirates or crew-members, but by the prisoners. And there was only one new rule to the game, the loser dies. There was only one true loser, the one with the worst hand, and he was to be shot to death by the other four players. The pirates had fun seeing who would loose that night's game, but found that Temple just couldn't loose.
Temple found that he loved this sense of danger, the gut to his head. He won every game and found many ways to cheat without getting caught. He counted cards, used misdirection, everything. He eventually challenged the captain to one of their games, rigging the whole game so that the Captain lost against all four of the prisoners, including himself. Temple smiled devilishly as he pulled out the gun he was given and threw it at the captain. The Captain looked at the gun and then at Temple, terrified of him. Temple proceeded to tap his finger on the table in perfect timing, every second a tap on the table. Temple then proceeded to mess with him, adding a tap on the floor with his foot ever three seconds along with his finger. As Time began to feel like it was moving faster, he changed his foot to every two seconds and then every second, telling the captain at the spark of ten second to "do it". After the question the captain kept asking "do what?"
But then, after thirty minutes, with nobody moving at all, Temple stopped telling, he just looked at him from behind his broken lenses. The Captain began to sweat. He began to keep with the time, asking every ten seconds he just asked, "do What?" But Temple refused to answer anymore. He just smiled devilishly at him. Terrified beyond all belief at the psychological warfare that was taking place, the Captain took the gun to pointed it at Temple's head. As ten seconds to a full hour since this "game" began came around, the Captain asked again, "DO WHAT?" only this time, Temple did not tap his foot, he did not tap his finger, he did not reply. There was only the gun shot.
And Temple walked out of the room, the smoking gun on the ground, the Captain dead, and a bullet hole revealed in the back of the captain's skull. Not infront, not in the side, in the back.
As Temple walked out, he prepared to leave, an island having been spotted just off the port side, a hour's sail exactly by dinghy. The first mate came out after him, asking how he did it, but Temple only smiled and pointed at the first mate's gun, still smoking from killing his own captain. The first mate dropped to the ground, puking his guts out. Temple picked up the gun as he let it go and pointed it at the first mate. BANG.
And Temple was out, heading to the next island, now fully prepared for the pirate's life Personality: Temple is a man of control. He LOVES order and control and his insanity is very well based around a complex case of OCD. Temple does not fear death, but rather he challenges Death, wanting to know just how long he has left in life. He is very intelligent, far smarter than any normal person, but often his intelligence is hidden behind is eccentricities. Constantly keeping track of time, he hates being late and demands order in his life. He is also very unstable, having shown on many times in his life to react unpredictably once his plans start to go out of control. A Master of time, Temple can manipulate a person's perception of time with subtle suggestion and has been known to hypnotise a person using that perception of time. A genius doctor as well, Temple knows exactly how a body operates, noticing any flaw immediately and knowing exactly how to act against it. Ship: n/a Ship Flag: n/a Devil Fruit: Limited to only three devil fruit users per person Type: (only if you have a devil fruit) Effect: (only if you have a devil fruit) Special Abilities: Master of Time: Temple has a perfectly tuned mental clock ticking away in his head and has a perfect perception of how time operates and how he can manipulate a person's sense of time. He can also accurately keep in time with hundreds of different things at once and can understand the timing of an enemy very easily. Hapkido: Temple only started to learn Hapkido as an extracurricular activity, he soon found that the martial art suited him perfectly. A martial art focusing on body strikes and pressure points, it is often uses throws and holds to defeat the enemy instead of punches and kicks. Hypnotism: A more real form of hypnotic suggestion, The time it takes to hypnotize a person varies depending on the situation at hand, Temple has on many occasion performed a successful hypnotism in less than 10 minutes, but he cannot perform a hypnotism as fluidly or as swiftly as one of those magical hypnotists. Can only be used on NPCs and Player approved characters, is NOT an auto-hit, not is it allowed to be used on anyone like that. Doctor: Temple is a certifiable Doctor with skills in surgery and analysis. Temple can identify a medical problem with anyone as soon as he begins inspecting them and can apply surgical strikes with quick and precise and flawless technique. There are few who are better doctors than him that are out there. Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25): Surgical Fracture: Temple grabs his enemy and squeezes, breaking whatever it is he and grabbed. Imaginary Bullet: Temple shoves his tumb into his foe, breaking the skin and causing damage wherever he hits. He isn't strong enough to break bone, nor is his thumb actually as fast as a bullet, so this cannot be referred to as a Shigan. Godless Hand Stroke: A throw technique that uses reaction and instinct on the enemy's part to trick them into throwing themselves, allowing him to throw them anywhere without ever really touching them. Weapons/Items: a few scalpels, a dinghy, and a stopwatch that is perfectly wound (The watch is pure metal with a sturdy casing and a five foot long retractable metal line that makes his watch work like a flail as well) Character Flaws: Insane, OCD Goals: To find a new purpose in life while entertaining himself with his new freedom in life.

| Only thing I'm concerned is the hypnotism, as far as I know it's not an allowed ability. Although, if you limit it to only work on NPC chars, and only on those of average will or strength-levels, then it should be okay. | |

| Hypnotism should be alright as long as it's purely suggestion and not literal mind control. Under no circumstances can you "call hits" or the like. As stated here: https://theonepiecerp.rpg-board.net/t2080-banned-abilitiesJust tossing in my 2 cents. Still up to Shadow though, since he responded to the app first. | |

| This isn't an active combat ability. This isn't mind control or anything, it's how suggestion really works. And of course it's only for NPCs. | |

| Still, it would be much better if you actually write that in the abilities section, those NPC things we've mentioned. Then he'll be good to go. | |
