-Simple Information-Name: Mackenzie Jay Smith
Also known as: Mackenzie has long since discarded his original first name, instead preferring to go by the name Mack, due to its slightly more masculine connotation. His sister, long ago, gave him the strange nickname
Big Mac, and he really likes said name.
Age: 23
Species: Human
Gender: Male, and extraordinarily ‘crooked’, if you catch my drift.
Loyalty: His family, but his future is… uncertain.
Affiliation: Bounty Hunters, when the need arises.
Occupation:Cook: Big Mac has spent a lot of time in his life cooking, and has a plethora of recipes in his head, most (if not all of them) involving apples in some way, shape or form. Mack’s cooking skill is so great, he has been described a five star chef in taste, if not in presentation. His recipe selection is so vast he can make a great variety of apple related dishes without making his diners grow tired of the apples’ taste.
Bounty: N/A*
Specialty: Mack’s specialty is making food that’s great for the body, mind, and soul: even his desserts are healthy in more than one way.
Goals:1. Ensure the safety of his sister.
2. Ensure the happiness of his sister.
3. Destroy anyone who makes his sister unhappy.
Funds: Mackenzie has a fund of 1,ooo,ooo Beli, due to his frequent cooking jobs and his frugal and ‘save money for when you need it’ attitude.*

-Appearance information-Physical appearance: Body: Mack is tall, easily reaching a height of six feet and seven inches without anything on his feet. His skin has a fairly prominent farmer’s tan upon it, due to the years upon years of working in his family’s orchard. He is built quite sturdily and rather broadly: that isn’t to say he’s a hulking, vaguely square-shaped monster, but more like the type of shape that implies “you never want to make this man angry.” He easily weighs upwards of 260 pounds, but a decent majority of this is located in his muscles. Mack has decent sized, toned muscles, adding to his rather large and imposing appearance. Also, you know what they say about men with big hands? That’s right, they have big feet! Mack’s hands and feet aren’t that oversized, considering how big he himself is, but they certainly are slightly bigger than they should be. He’s also got a small splattering of freckles about his shoulders and back, though they are few and rarely noticeable.
Face: Mack’s head is about averaged sized (when you consider exactly how big his body is…) with a slightly squared, though not really prominent, jaw. His forehead is about average sized: he hasn’t got a teeny tiny forehead, nor is his forehead like a chunk of slate. His mouth is not quite thin enough to be described as a line, but it’s not exactly that huge either… again, proportional to his actual size. His nose is also average (do I really need to say the ‘proportional’ thing again?). Really, the only feature of his face that could be described as unique are his calm, dull eyes, a dark, soft green color, with almost perpetually half closed eyelids. Though this gives Mack the appearance of being rather lacking the brain and senses department, he’s still able to see almost everything going on in front of him behind those half-closed lids. His eyes are sort of almond shaped, though slightly bigger than normal, but they seem average due to the closed eyelids. He’s also got a few freckles under his eyes, though they’re mostly unnoticeable.
Hair: Mack’s haircut is rather unkempt: his bangs are short, but uneven, while the rest of his hair is long… and uneven. His strawberry blonde hair is let alone to fall however it likes: which happens to be straight and directly down his back. His bangs normally stick up a little, so they don’t get into his eyes that easily. He will, rarely, tie his hair into a ponytail, but this would only be if he needs to go somewhere ‘proper’, or some other occasion. His hair, unbound, normally reaches a point on his back on the opposite of the body as the bottom of the chest. His eyebrows are at the middle ground between blocky and pencil thing, sort of average looking in thickness and length, not nearly getting close to a unibrow. He always makes sure that he’s shaved in the morning, so he never has any facial hair.
Non visual information: Mack’s got a low voice, if this hasn’t been made apparent. His voice can’t very high at all, and he stays somewhere in the bass area in voice pitch due to his vocal range. His voice isn’t quite scratchy or rough, it just has a really rather low tone to it. Mack also has quite a bit of a Southern accent, though the ‘why’ is by saying that his parents had it.
Extra features: N/A and as said in parentheses, optional.
Clothing: Mack is normally garbed in a plaid, flannel long sleeve button-up shirt. Said shirt has its primary color as a darker red, with some dark orange and white providing the framing plaid lines. He normally wears the sleeves rolled up just past his elbows, revealing the lighter colored innards of the shirt sleeves. Over this he normally wears blue denim overalls, regardless of whether he’s cooking or beating down a pirate or two. The flannel shirt has been tucked into the overalls, and while the shirt maintains a loose and baggy appearance, the overalls stay rather well fitting. When fighting, Mack puts on a pair of dark brown leather gloves, rather loose fitting and with a flared wrist. He normally wears brown work boots or, on some occasions, cowboy boots, and his work boots normally have rather high topline, going up about halfway up his shin.
When in extraordinarily hot environments, even Mack would agree that heavy flannel would be stupid. So he takes it off. He completely discards his flannel shirt and overalls, instead electing to wear dark blue jeans. And… that’s basically it. He will wear plain dark blue jeans and completely neglect any possibly need for a shirt, justifying it with the fact that his tan is utterly uneven and should be fixed. He really doesn’t wear anything on his feet, because why should he? It’s not like shoes are perpetually necessary… right?
If, god forbid, Mack has to go anywhere fancy, he does have clothes for that. He discards his flannel shirt for a plain white dress shirt, normally with the top button unbuttoned. His sleeves are normally rolled up as well, to avoid feeling like his movement is restricted: his sleeves are normally rolled up to just above the elbow, as in his casual clothes. He has some nice black dress slacks, held in place with a leather belt. Besides soft and comfortable dress shoes (in the form of loafers), Mack really hasn’t gotten anything else to accompany his (very rarely used) dress ensemble.
However, it is literally impossible to find Mack anywhere without his trusty leather cowboy hat. Said hat is a medium brown color, and is almost always on his head: unless he’s fighting, of course: can’t let his hat get ruined in a punch up with people who deserve said punch up. Besides this, he normally carries around some apples and various other materials in a teardrop shaped courier bag on his back, in order to make sure he has at least some cooking materials and snacks on hand at all times.
-Personality information-Personality Overview: Mack’s normal method of dealing with people is complete and utter silence. He rarely talks, and if he does talk, it’s either in friendly or playful conversation with his sister, or in low, threatening tones to get someone off his sister. He has a rather strange opinion on conflict and combat: he doesn’t like to get into random, unprovoked fights with… well, anyone. However, if you threaten his sister, someone’s gonna die. He doesn’t even care that much for his own image or what anyone says to him: it’s all about his sister. His silent, hawkeyed vigilance is always maintained for the safety of his sister.
If he were ever forced to actually communicate with someone other than his sister, he’d be terse, but polite, saying what he needs to say in as few words as possible. He is a very practical man, always viewing the circumstances around him and looking for simple and effective solutions to whatever problems may arise. He is also rather frugal, looking for deals whenever he has to buy something, and often electing to save whatever money he can however he can without being a money-grubbing scrooge. He likes to deal with basically everything in the simplest and most efficient manner: that’s why his threats normally involve head grabbing, followed by smashing said head into the ground. However, let it not be assumed that Mack is stupid: though he lacks a formal education, Mack is rather intelligent and has quite a bit of practical knowledge: just look at his cooking skills.
Likes, Dislikes, Hopes and Fears: Likes and Hopes: Likes, likes, likes… what does Mack like? Apples, of course, but that’s a given. Cooking gives him quite a large amount of joy, especially when others are appreciating his cooking. He really likes it when his sister is happy, and will do almost anything to make sure she stays happy. He loves the feeling of being outdoors, out in the breeze, the sun at his back, and the earth under his feet. He really wants to make the world safe for his sister, and he hopes that he can somehow make the world a better place, if only for his sister’s benefit.
Dislikes and Fears: As for dislikes, Mack dislikes meat. You wouldn’t tell from his ridiculous physique, but Mack really hates eating meat. He’s more comfortable with fish, but he literally cannot stand eating anything that lives on dry land. As such, and as is easily inferred, dear Mack is a vegetarian. Mostly. He also sort of dislikes being on the sea for long: that’s why he tries to get off ships as soon as possible, whenever he can. He has a horrible, horrible fear that anything could happen to his sister, and as such it drives him to be a viciously overprotective big brother. He’s also got a dislike of large fires: small campfires are fine, but as soon as something bigger than that goes up in flames, expect him to get out of there pretty darn fast. Unless, of course, his sister is in the middle of the flames… then he’ll just rush right in.
-History information-**
- Birth and a Sister:
Mackenzie Smith was born to a Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who owned an apple orchard on a small island in the South Blue. Mack, as his parents would later call him by, would be largely raised by his grandmother, a kind old woman who later went by the name ‘Granny Smith’ to her grandchildren. At the age of five, Mack was joined by his little sister, one Abigail Jacqueline Smith, in making the lives of his family happier. Almost as soon as Mack was able, he began helping his family in any way he could: carrying stuff to and from the barn, picking up fallen apples that his parents missed, and helping Granny Smith with anything that she had to do around the house. Though he was young, Mack had already received a fairly large growth spurt, and was easily able to help out in these ways and several more.
- Learning and Working:
At some point around the age of six, Mack’s parents sent him to school at the small harbor town from which they regularly shipped out their apples. He wasn’t a bad student, not in the least: however, his focus was always on his family’s farm, and not his education. That is probably why he dropped out of school at the age of eleven, instead electing to work on his family’s farm. At this age, he still wasn’t too much of a help: though he was growing fast, he still wasn’t quite old enough to climb up the trees with a ladder to pick the apples off the trees: instead, he walked Abigail to school and helped Granny Smith make meals. It was around this time that Abigail and Mack created each other’s nicknames: AJ and Big Mac. Of course, Mack’s act of leaving school early gave him a reputation for being a quitter, and somehow the townschildren had gotten the idea in their heads that he was a wimp: thus began the taunts thrown at Mack (usually related to his name, which was quite honestly a poor name choice on his parents’ parts). Of course, not one to get angered easily, Mack just ignored such taunts and went about his daily life - not to say that AJ never attempted to defend him, though that may have made the heckling worse. Mac’s work with his grandmother did result in him becoming a rather skillful cook.
- Working Hard and Protecting Family:
Though Mack dropped out of school, he was not without things to do: as he grew older, he began working more and more on his family’s farm. He grew taller and stronger, far quicker than those around him did. He never missed a day of walking AJ to school, until she grew old enough to do it herself, when she turned ten. He was fifteen at the time, and easily able to do the amount of work his father did: he worked as hard as he could to help out his family. He would also go into town on occasion to pick up groceries and a variety of other things for his family. On the way home from one of these trips, at the age of eighteen, he found a group of men from the harbor town trying to take advantage of his sister. He moved quickly, striking down every aggressor from behind, not killing them, but only leaving them with minor concussions. Though he saved his sister, his actions resulted in his family paying a heavy price.
- Tragedy and Recovery:
A few days after Mack beat up the men harassing his sister, Granny Smith, AJ, and Mack went to the harbor town to get some of their farming tools repaired, and while they were out, disaster struck. The men Mack had disabled were pirates, and they had not taken Mack’s obstruction of their goals. They attack the Smith family farm while Mack, AJ, and Granny Smith were out, and they killed the Smith parents and razed the orchard. They left before Mack and his family returned, and the three of them could only save so many of their trees. When they found their dead parents, Mack already wanted revenge. The only thing that stopped him from going out and trying to kill them (and probably getting killed instead) was his concern for his sister and grandmother. He and his sister buried their parents, and alongside Granny Smith and a number of the harbor town families, they slowly recovered from their disaster.
- Revenge and a New Mission:
Mack wasn’t one to forget about a grudge, so as he and his sister worked with their grandmother and the townsfolk to help recover from the attack, he thought constantly of payback. He was obsessed with his sister’s safety from then on, never letting her out of his sight. She dropped out of school to work on the orchard, and he wasn’t content just having her at home: he wanted to be able to protect his sister. He remembered that his grandmother had once worked for the World Government. Around when he was twenty, Mack asked his grandmother to tell him how she fought when she worked for the World Government: she explained to him how Life Return worked, and when he begged her to teach him, she was a bit reluctant. However, Mack’s determination eventually made her cave, and over the next two years she taught Mack how to use Life Return: the basics of it anyway. One day Mack noticed the bounty posters of the people who burned his family’s orchard, and he finally reached his limit. He decided to leave and hunt down the men who ruined his family’s lives: what he didn’t know is that AJ had decided something similar, and followed him when he left.
- Bounty Hunting:
Mack was at first reluctant to take AJ with him: she wasn’t old enough, and she wouldn’t be able to defend herself. When she pulled out the fact that she had been training herself in martial arts, it was almost needless to say that Mack’s worrying was pointless. And so the pair of them went out hunting for the pirates who ruined their lives. After a month of hunting and searching, they found them. They managed to corner a large quantity of the crew in a brothel, and the resulting conflicted ended with the pirates being knocked completely unconscious and Mack sustaining several largely superficial wounds: hey, they were caught offguard. The battle with the remaining members who hadn’t decided to populate the brothel turned out to be harder. However, in the end, AJ and Mack still came out on top, though not unscathed. Much to their surprise, when all was said and done, they received a decent amount of praise and a rather impressive sum of money. It was here that AJ had a rather interesting stroke of genius: they should be bounty hunters. Mack found the idea oddly agreeable… as long as they were choosey with their targets. They agreed to hunt down the pirates that deserved capture, not the ones who were largely harmless. Since then, the pair has been wandering the South Blue, practicing their cooking and capturing whoever they could. Not like they caught a lot of people…
Relationships with other characters:*
Abigail Jacqueline Smith: Abigail and Mack are brother and sister, separated only by an age difference of five years. Mack loves his sister dearly, and is willing to kill others in order to keep her safe. Mack refuses to let his sister stray too far away from him, afraid she’ll get attacked and overwhelmed by some kind of criminal. They will joke and play when in private, though Mack likes to stay quiet and take on a role in the background, watching carefully to ensure his sister is safe.

Passive traits: Sibling Knowledge: Mack and AJ know each other so incredibly well, that sometimes they don’t even need to speak in order to exchange thoughts. Most of the time, all Mack has to do is look into AJ’s eyes, and she can gather the generalized feel of what he wants to say, so that she can say it. This is mostly used in public, due to Mack’s desire to not speak unless absolutely necessary, and due to AJ’s love of talking period.
