PostSubject: Dead End Race/Competition (open to all crews and loners)   Dead End Race/Competition (open to all crews and loners) Icon_minitimeFri Jul 30, 2010 4:32 pm

DEAD END RACE
A very dangerous anything goes sailing competition based on the first One Piece movie which the prize this year is 50,000,000 beli, a cannon, and a Gol D. Roger action figure.

START
Everyone starts with arriving at the unnamed island or at the bar before joining or anytime in between. Once you get to the bar, you show the barkeeper two 100 beli and he'll lead you to Grand End, the actual place where registration takes place. You don't have to be part of a crew to join. Lone travellers can join too, and they have the option of joining with some crew or other lone travellers for the race if they wish.

GRAND END
Circular place just like in the movie (although it may not be called Grand End in the movie). First level is ocean water, perfect for swimming and relaxing. Second level is the bar. Third level is the gambling area and the registeration area. Fourth level is the resting area. Someone named Jaycie is doing the registrations.

REGISTRATION
People who arrive at the registration place will have to fill out a form about their boat and crew and then, receive a map of the course.

LIST OF COMPETITORS
Gemini Pirates* - 3rd last year; fast small ship that can avoid attacks easily (1 cannon)
: Castor (Mera Mera no Mi user)
: Pollux (Hie Hie no Mi user)

Lioness Pirates* - 2nd last year; large strong armored ship filled with Amazonians (10 cannons)
: 12 Amazonions and a large snake

Nemhsif* - 1st last year; fast large ship filled with fishmen
: 7 fishmen

And many more... use yo imagination... D:

A long green figure crawled into the bar, curling around the edge of the door and sliding underneath tables and stools. It crept against the wall, unnoticed by most, it's scales camouflaged against the wall, moving quickly towards the barkeeper. The small chameleon, Mist, finally made his appearance, peaking his head up and plopping himself down on a stool. His shape changed into one resembling a human, with scaly skin and darty eyes. Two arms emerged from his scales, and lay down on the bar table. This was an island where strange creatures and devil fruits weren't uncommon, so noone paid much attention to him. He called over the barkeeper, showing his two 100 beli.

The barkeeper smiled when he saw the two coins. "This way," he whispered, leading the slithering figure toward one of the backdoors. "Just keep going down here and you should reach the Grand End and the registration place. Good luck."

((right))

A human looking individual walked in through the front door; he had a dull tan shawl on, and had a face that was bandaged across where the nose was supposed to be, and all around his head, like the black ponytail that wound around his neck. The fishman had heard of a competition that would aid him and his crew in getting information, resources and prizes.

So Salvat had come. He took a momentary glance at the chameleon, then a sweeping glance at the whole bar; if there were any government officials undercover here, there either really weren't, or they were well disguised. In any case, he walked towards the bar, sat there and slid 2 100 beli coins onto the counter.

((yea, go ahead!))

"You here for the thing?" the bar tender asked, sighing and putting down the cup he was cleaning. "This way." He opened the door to a tunnel. "Go down this tunnel and you should reach the place. Registration table somewhere no the third level. Good luck."

Mist crawled through the tunnel down the backdoor, now in his normal chameleon form. He noticed a fishman behind him coming into the door as well, another competitor. The tunnel was long and wide, made with brick walls. Instead of following the regular route, he decided to wait in the shadows, and observe the other challengers. It would be good to get a preview of their abilities before the competition began.

A large spherical frog bounced into the bar. Its eyes were half closed, yet it skillfully maneuvered up to the bar. It mouth opened, and on an oddly dry part of it's tongue rested two 100 beli coins.

Salvat nodded his thanks, and walked in through the tunnel. He gave a sideways glance at the chameleon, winked and kept walking on.

"This is a bad idea. Bad ideas are usually bad for a reason." He remembered his crew's shipwright say with his usual sarcasm. Salvat simply shook his head with a grin on his face, and kept walking.

((Btw, you guys can control the bartender to lead you to the Grand End lol. My character is the girl who's at the registration booth inside the Grand End.))

Just as the bartender was about to pick up the cup and start wiping again, a spherical frog gave him the password. 'There sure are a lot of strange competitors this year.' He led the frog to the door that led to the tunnel to the Grand End. "Good luck."

Jaycie sat, twirling the pen in her hand. The sound of coins jiggling and gambling machines beeping were starting to slowly wear out her sanity. 'I could have enjoyed the freedom to gambling and drink till my heart's content, but no. I can't I decided to take this job. Pirates can't be stupid to the point they can't register themselves in.'

As Mist stood in the hallway, a thought dawned upon him. He had no ship. How was he suppose to win this contest without even a rowboat? Maybe he could hop aboard some crew's ship and stowaway, or maybe form a temporary alliance with another crew.... He began to scale the wall next to him, and follow the fishman. He seemed reasonable enough, and also looked strong. Maybe he could either form a team with the fish, sneak onto his boat, or just steal his ship. Mist crept along the wall, blending into the dark wall to his side.

The frog entered the door by wrapping it's tongue around the doorknob and twisting it. As the door opened and Figdra slipped in, a soft voice said, "Thank you... I'll need it." The frog hopped down the corridor, gently picking up the fishman barring the way with his tongue. He hopped under the fishman and put him down on the other side. "Sorry..." the soft voice said, bouncing down the hallway.

Salvat simply tipped his bandanna up on his head, more amused than irritated. He kept walking behind the frog, whilst he could hear the slow but faint sound of the chameleon's breathing.

so he began to wonder about a few things.

Would this little competition allow him to find out about Silt's whereabouts? Would he bring his crew into the contest, or would he act alone? He also had a strange feeling of familiarity concerning the soft voice accompanying the strange round amphibian. No matter. He followed the frog into a vast, open but subterranean space.

As the chameleon walked, the hallway opened up to a larger space, still underground. A light source was coming from somewhere, making the room bright as the outside, but Mist couldn't tell where it was coming from. There were plants and vines everywhere, so he deaked into one of the bushes, his color changing to a dense green to match that of the plant.

At this point he saw some other competitors. He noticed a tall cloaked man, every part of his concealed in black except for his glowing eyes. ((NPC)). There was also a spherical frog. Hmmm, so he wasn't the only animal coming to the contest....

Figdra bounced up to the receptionist. "Hello, I'm here to register for the contest... I can't write though... for semi-obvious reasons."

As Mist hung around, a gnat emerged from his scales. It circled his head, also glaring at all the contestants. Solo, the gnat, buzzed at the chameleon. It whispered something to Mist, and he nodded back. He proceeded to shoot out his tongue, chewing the gnat and swallowing it whole. The gnat, after being chewed up, resembled itself and flew out of the lizard's mouth. Mist decided it was time to register, and crawled to the registration table.

Salvat looked from the chameleon to the frog, amused, then sighed; "Right," he muttered, walking towards the registration table, "Matter at hand, Salvie, matter at hand." He stood next to the chameleon and spherical frog at the counter.

((There was a crew that wanted to join, so let's wait for them for a minute. You guys can start a bar fight or something lol))

Jaycie looked at the people/animals at the register. "Uhh. Here, just fill out this form about your crew," she grumbled, tossing the registration paper at the group. "Enjoy your day."

A registration paper flew out of the hands of the registry lady, and into the open air. Just before it hit reach of anyone else, Mist shot out his tongue, latching onto the paper and bringing it to his grasp. Holding the paper in his mouth, he leaped onto a nearby table, placing down the sheet.
Dim, another of his fly companions, flew from the chameleon's scales. He opened up the dimensional pocket inside his body, revealing a long pencil for Mist to use. Mist took the pencil and began to fill out the form.

Figdra sighed, his eyes closed. She missed what he said. No matter. He looked over to his side at the fishman. "I'm sorry to bother you, but could you help me fill this out? I can't write... I lack the necessary opposable thumbs."

Salvat eyed the rounded amphibian with a plain expression, hiding whatever amusement he had for the spectacle; a round frog was asking him help to write out a form. Regardless, Salvat shrugged. "Righto then. See a pen i can use?" He neglected to ever carry a pen with him, for the simple reason that he forgot to bring one.

Figdra's mouth opened and a pencil was on a very dry part of his tongue. He lifted it up with his tongue and placed it on the desk(?). "Thank you ever so much."
