this thread is a must, we have SO many reasons to hate these guys, mainly because now when ever I ask "do you like one piece?" they think of the english dub

recently I read that they once changed Nami holding up two fingers in a "peace" sign in to three fingers for NO reason!

They turned all the guns green to make them less menacing, they cut out all the female characters cleavage so it constantly looked as though they had one massive breast, they turned a gun into a hammer on a spring, and worst of all...they gave Robbin that god awful fake southern accent!

I am gonna miss Sanji's god awful Brooklyn accent but I have no idea why

LOLIPOP!?!? are you kidding me? if you want to cut out the smoking fine but you cant light a stove with a lollipop and they do NOT burn things!

thats to bad, lots of anime like HunterxHunter, soul eater and Law of ueki are a lot BETER in the manga often going on for longer and in greater detail (loads of stuff gets cut out in the anime)

I guess I prefer anime, I try to watch that first.
I also check if there's an English dub and try it out. Lucky Star...konata's voice just doesn't fit at all...EVERYONE ELSE'S voices do.

4kids did so many unneeded changes. The biggest one I can think of is this Zolo. Seriously, why was that needed? Why couldn't it be just Zoro?

Yeah that was stupid too. The lolipop was plain stupid. And the hammer was horrible. Brain splatter versus gun shot, brain splatter is more gruesome.

I think zolo instead of zoro was because of Zorro the masked swordsman, and they didn't want to have that name.

I also did not like how smoker's cigars were taken out but his mouth was still half open and he still exhaled smoke... they said it was the "mist mist fruit" but if it was mist why did it make people cough?

Also they changed his name from Smoker to Chaser. They for some reason thought it was okay to make him always using his power.

because it would confuse kids, they would think that his inability to swim had nothing to do with his devil fruit so they tried to simplify things, not that Im trying to justify anything anyway

I never watch dubs always japanese with english subs

But I think I watch anime couse its easier for someone who isnt really great in english, but will try some manga later

They changed Ace's name because there is a very little known Alcohol called "Ace." Yet they did nothing to Captain Morgan's name.
