Sea Stalkers, The Stalk Begins~

Val stared at his doctor in the long moments that it took him to speak. When he heard what he said he nodded almost to himself, the best to be expected of a doctor I suppose, most of the wieight wlll fall on "Master Chief
Babineaux, will be your chief enlisted on board, you will all answer to her" he motioned her forward to say a few words.

Bridgette grins at the doctor, almost giggling, but manages to contain herself as she takes a step forward, offering a crisp salute to the crew. "I'm sure you've all heard stories of what happens when somebody pisses me off, so stay on my good side and we should have some smooth sailing ahead of us."

With a quick nod she steps back in line with the captain.

Val nods, its what he expects from his chief enlisted "And second to Master Chief is Chief Petty Officer Serene" He waves the mermaid forward "She is your aquatic combat instructor, your chief ships mate, and second to Master Chief..you will answer to her on your day to day tasks." He nods to her to say a few words

Serene slides up and smiles with a weak wave. "Mmm, yeah, that's me." she bows a bit with her torso as she says that. "I'm not very useful with land combat, as you can say.", wiggling her tail fin a bit. "But without a doubt, I'm a mean machine to fight in the water." making a quick jab at the air. "But if I have my sword.." she reaches behind her back, patting her empty sheathe, blushing a bit as she realizes she forgot her blade at the pool, sliding back into her place in line, weakly saluting everyone.

Val looks at her for a long moment before grinning slightly "recon and intell gathering will be handled by Seaman Gnopped" he said, glancing at his ranked officers "That is all, go about your buisnes unil 900 hours tomorrow, we are sailing with the tide" he threw up a salute "DISMISSED" He turned away " Senior staff and seaman Gnopped, attend me if you would" he said as he started away.

"Aye aye, Captain." Bridgette follows close after Val, marching in step with him.

'' aye aye captain I will take care of that' gnopped was in hyena form and walked at the left side of captain val.

"Um, aye Captain." Orson said, falling in behind the others.

"Hehehe, Aye!" raising one arm into the air, quickly turning and sneaking back to the pool for her weapon before anyone noticed.

gnopped was still following val'' so cap'tain whats out next mission, is there sometihng I can do'' gnopped was acting a bit impatiently

Val stopped in his tracks and glared at Seaman Gnopped "Until you are needed, donot presume to jump up your chain of command *SEAMAN" Gnopped" he glanced over at Bridgette "Find something for him to..busy..himself with" he said as he turned towards Orson, intent on discussing some key points of the ships breakdown with him. He noted as he did so that Serene was wandering off in the wrong direction, but didnt think to mention it.

Orson could never exactly brag about being the most astute at reading people, but it was rather obvious when a captain looked at the man who was supposed to be his second, that he probably wanted to talk about something important. But, since the man wasn't saying anything, he figure he could start. "It's a very fine ship we've got, Captain."

"Hmm" Val said, turning his attention back to his XO "Ahh yes, yes" he shook his head slightly as if to clear it "The ship is newly outfitted, has some of the finest ameneties one could have on board a ship of that class" he clasped his hands behind his back "Do you understand your duties as my XO?" he asked suddenly

Orson froze for a moment at the suddeness of the questions, before scraping together a reply. "Well... I can't say I've ever served in this capacity before. My expertise is strictly medical. However, I do know the textbook duties an XO is supposed to perform." Said, scratching and the back of his head.

Bridgette grins and reaches into the bag slung over her shoulder. She pulls out a pair of scuffed up black boots and tosses them to Gnopped, "Here, you can shine these for me. I was going to do it after we got on the ship, but you're itching to do something, right?"

Val nod at Orson "i understand that you have been involved in your research to this point" he said slowly " But Ill be able to help oyu somewhat with your duties, and remember..our two top NCO's know what they are doing as well, dont be afraid to rely on them."

gnopped turned into human form, and catched the pair of boots'' sure, bridgette you can count on me they will be done soon''

She nods, "Good. Next time wait for an order from the captain instead of getting impatient and asking for one."

Gnopped stared at bridgette'' my excuses chief petty officer babineux, wont do it again''

With almost a giggle, she pats Gnopped on the head and walks off after the captain again, "Good boy."

Vals eyes crinkle slightly as he looks back over at his Master Chief, he turns back to the Warrant Officer and slaps him heartedly on the back "See you back at the ship, I am going to check up on something" He boomed out "Mr. Orson you have the ship, prepare it for departure upon my return" he headed down a side corridor suddenly.

"Um, aye aye Captain!" Orson shouted after him, a sense of dread growing larger inside of him with every step his superior took away. He turned back to face the ship, which by now was bustling with activity. He gulped. How the hell do you prep a ship?...

Val walked off in the direction of the eastern pool. he shook his head and made a note to himself to sneak back earlier then he had expected to try to see how the crew handled things. He hoped Orson would work out he seemed like a good guy. He shook his head again.
"getting old" he muttered to himself, "worrying about things like an old woman" he smiled grimly and kept going.

"B-Babineaux-san!" Orson called out back after the woman, who was, in all technicality, his subordinate. Breaking his pace, he jogged lightly back over to meet her. However, he slowed when he noticed what duty she was imposing on the beast-like man. "Um... are you busy?"

Bridgette tilts her head a bit, eyeing Orson, then smiles, "No Sir, what is it you need, sir?"
