Physical: Fairly tall, muscular body. He has very broad shoulders which add to his muscular looks. He has a scruffy face that’s not a beard, but not shaved. He has a very rugged look about him. He has a tattoo on the left side of his jaw depicting a grey 8-toothed gear like the one in his pirate flag.
Clothes: Captain Cog wears a white T-shirt with a grey 8-toothed gear on it over a black skin-tight long-sleeved shirt. He wears rugged and faded jeans and black shoes with a grey 8-toothed gear depicted on the inside. He carries his Cog Saw over his back.
History: Vlenny and Klenny (Captain Cog and Captain Stripe) were born as twins to an extremely rich merchant, Mr. Sarball, and a girl he met in a bar once. When the girl had the twins she found the merchant and demanded he care for them. He refused to take them both however, and left the girl with Vlenny (Captain Cog). Over the years the girl had many boyfriends, many of which were laborers or sailors. Captain Cog was around these men his whole life and adopted many of their ways. He became an apprentice to a custom shipwright who designed ships with special features. Captain Cog showed great potential, especially in his inventions to add to the boats.
His brother came to him to pick up a custom ship after he had been in the business for a few years. They did not know they were brothers but hit it off well and became good friends while Captain Cog finished the ship. Captain Stripe was starting his own merchant business and invited Captain Cog to work as his shipwright. Wanting to see the world Captain Cog joined him and they started their travels together, unaware of their blood relationship.
The Sarball Merchant Co. rose in the merchant ranks, but Captain Stripe was still naïve in the ways of business. He got caught up in a trading deal with a powerful gang of pirates without realizing they were pirates. Eventually the Marines cracked down on the pirate gang, but they labeled The Sarball Merchant Co. as pirates for transporting good for pirates. Captains Cog and Captain Stripe escaped capture by seeking refuge with Captain Stripe’s dad. When he saw Captain Cog he immediately recognized him and told the two of their relation.
By that time Captain Cog had been recognized as Captain Stripe’s right hand man and the two got bounties of 30,000 put on their heads. Captain Cog convinced Captain Stripe to give up the merchant business and simply become pirates. After much persuasion, he gave in and they started their own pirate crew, assuming the names Captain Cog and Captain Stripe.
Personality: Captain Cog is the epitome of a rugged man. He looks, acts, and even smells masculine. He loves rum and BBQed food. He talks without regard to those around him, often cussing at and insulting those around him. He does not mind offending others, and has done so on multiple occasions. He likes to talks about weapons, boats, and money; or his latest inventions. Like his brother, he has a very inventive mind. However he invents haphazardly, often adding mew parts to counteract unwanted effects of previous parts. He approaches his work with a mechanic’s eye. This way of thinking carries over into his fighting style.
Ship: Rending Ryan, a large galley style ship. The ship has deployable paddle wheels on either side. These double its speed and allow for turning in place. The ship has a cannon on each side in the center of the wheel. These shoot rotating gears that cut through ships. The ship also has a large gear on an arm at the front of the boat. This can be used like a saw to cut other boats and it can be rotated to cut either vertically or horizontally. This can cut masts down or rend large holes in the side of a ship. The gear saw and paddlewheels are powered by coconuts. The ship has 3 palm trees on the back that produce a massive amount of coconuts, however they don’t make enough for daily uses of the ships accessories, and so additional coconuts are harvested from islands.
Ship Flag: The flag has a square of 5 diagonal lines with two triangles just like Captains Stripes tattoo. On this is a grey gear with 8 teeth. This surrounds a skull with only and upper jaw. The skull has two black octagon eyes surrounded by a grey 8-toothed gear. 9 lines come down from the top of the skulls head and point towards the eyes. It also has a grey triangle nose.
Special Abilities: Rugged Charm (affects women, especially those of the lower class) Strong Arms (can swing his weapon quickly and strongly with only one arm)
Learned Techniques: all attacks used with Cog Saw on.
Cog Cut: The edge of the cog saw is put in contact with something while the cogs are spinning. This cuts the object.
Cog Pierce: An enemy is stabbed with the Saw. The outer cog is spinning in such a way that it sends debris (flesh) downward. This tears a hole in the enemy.
Cog Rend: 8 consecutive attacks are made with the Saw from 8 different directions. This will turn an average enemy into torn flesh.
Cog Scattershot: A rock or similar material is put between two cogs and is crushed and then shot out the other end as small grains. These go about 10 feet and can blind opponents and sting flesh.
Weapons:
Weapon Name: Cog Saw
Description: This is a large saw, about 4 feet long. That acts like a chain saw. Instead of a chain running along it, it has 8 gears that spin extremely fast. These are connected, so 4 spin clockwise, and 4 counterclockwise. The one at the end spins counterclockwise so it sends debris downward. These cogs are about 5 inches in diameter. They are powered by an engine that runs off of coconut milk located in the handle. A bottle is attached to the end of the handle to fuel it. If this is broken the gears will stop spinning and since they aren’t sharp it will essentially become a club.
Weapon Special Abilities: Rend flesh (the saw doesn’t cut, it shreds flesh) ineffective against metal (the saw is pretty much useless against metal because it doesn’t cut)
