Being an okama though his clothes often confuse people as to whether he is a boy or a girl. He refuses to shave off his beard so he covers it up flawlessly, and even though he shows distaste in wanting to dress up as a girl (not the girly kind >.>) he is quite okay with it.
History:
Miharu is the first born from a normal family of merchants that like to travel the seven seas almost as much as pirates would. Unlike other merchants though their "stand" was there boat, and the "customers" were anybody near enough to see their ship that was used to attract any types of customers. Whether it be pirates, marines or others they tried their best to fulfill their requests and not let anybody leave empty-handed.
You may ask yourself that if they served both parties that were enemies to one another, how come her parents were even alive still? Well, that is because they never sell to pirates and marines at the same time. Sure, the pirates knew that Harumi's parents sold their merchandise to Marines and vice-versa, but as long as they kept on bringing in the goods they wouldn't mess with them. How often do you see a floating market at sea? It's pretty convenient when you don't have any place to dock for a while.
The boy at age four was already helping out his parents with the business, and when he reached six his sister was already helping out as well while he went to helping his father at stocking up on supplies when they head on to dock in an island to resupply. During their life on the ship, he and his sister were really fascinated with the different people that arrived to their boat to buy things from her parents. Sometimes he would be surprised when one would come up to him and his sister, either pirate or marine, and tell them some adventure they've been to or what pirate they had captured along the way. What peeved him though was that they would confuse him for a girl and that would really tick him off.
At age 9 Miharu had suggested to his father if he could let his sister help them stock up on supplies when they would head onto shore to re-supply. He was glad when his father said yes and laughed when Haru would jump in excitement at the news. This was only with man-made essential items like medicine, parchment, and the like that they can't make on their own. While he and his father got the items ready, little Haru roamed the market and looked around, amazed at the different items and people.
They were shocked to say the least when they found Harumi eating what seemed to be a Devil Fruit as she came back from her sightseeing and wondered what kind she had eaten. They didn't think any of it for now as they finished and went to their ship to load everything on and leave. He was going to ask her though where she had gotten it since he was curious as to who gave it to her.
What they found back at their ship was just too much for the siblings that their father had to cover their eyes while he himself forced back tears. Their ship, form of income and home was burning down to the ground, and what was worse was that their mother, his wife, was still in there, probably burning alive inside while they were out there watching all of it take place. It felt like forever as they just stood there watching.
Then everything happened so fast. Marines came out of nowhere and apprehended their father while grabbing them before they got away. He was able to get away by biting at one of the Marine's hands that was holding him and slip away, running as fast as he could to escape the clutches of the ones that had just ruined his life. He didn't know how much he had run or how far he got, but when he ran out of steam his knees buckled to the ground and he fainted when he hit the ground out of exhaustion.
As he came too Miharu found himself in a shack, hissing in pain when he tried to move but couldn't since his legs were still sore. He was scared and panicking, wondering if he had been captured by the Marines and was going to suffer the same fate as his parents, his sister...Harumi...
SNAP!"Ow!" he cried out as he rubbed his head in comfort after the hit he received from the old lady in the shack he was in. He was confused though since unlike the other old ladies this one was fit and had a smirk on her face, her hair was still a dark auburn color with some streaks of grey and she was dressed like how a young woman would. He would be disgusted, but somehow it looked good on her.
"W-Who are you, and where am I?" Miharu asked as he kept on looking around, then yelped as he was poked with the stick that the old woman was holding. "You ask too many questions, but if you must know I am Elda and this here is my humble abode," she answered with a chuckle, then poked the other again and watched with amusement as he swatted her away. "And whether you like it or not, you will be staying here under my rules and my training," she said with a final tone.
Miharu was too out of it to even say no, and just nodded before falling back into the bed and knock out again.
After that day the old woman, or "Gran Elda" as he was supposed to call her, raised him with an iron fist and trained him hard and made him work for everything that was essential for him to live everyday. At first he hated the woman with all his might for putting him through this agony every day, but then realized that what she was doing was for his own good. When the first few months had gone and passed he was able to get along with her and actually find her tolerable, but was still peeved off when she would some time hit him with the stick, or when she wants to dress him up as a girl when she feels like it because he can look the part.
He got a hang of it though...
At the ages of 14-17 Miharu was Elda's errand boy. He would carry messages for her to other people in the island and vice versa when he had to go and get something for her from places she couldn't get to by herself. This was also the time where he would get in more trouble than when he was a kid. His temper flared whenever someone would mistake him for a girl, and no one dumb enough could even stop him when he went on a rampage other than Gran Elda when she would get him back from wherever he was and give him hie deserved punishment for making a ruckus and dirtying her reputation.
Now at age 21 he helps run the tavern that Gran Elda had been running even before taking him in. Since he has taken a liking into being an okama (crossdresser), he dresses up as a female bartender and watches in amusement how every man that enters the bar falls for his "feminine charm," and laughs when they sometimes fight to see who can impress him more.
He still thinks about his sister though, and wondering if she was still alive. He knew his father would be dead, the Marines weren't that merciful but maybe, just maybe, his sister would've been given some kind of punishment but was left alive. He just had to keep on believing, and hope he can find her one day and take her back.
Personality:
Miharu is hot-headed and has a small temper when he's hanging out with Gran Elda, but when he's at work he's more laid back and good to talk with. The reason being is that while he's with Elda Miharu doesn't have to be wearing his disguise and is more comfortable with being loudmouthed and bratty, but still respective of his elders, especially Elda. With customers though he needs to act like a woman, and so takes the much safer approach and acts more reserved and laid back.

-Perception: Just like he is a master of deception, he can perceive whether a person is lying or not. Only someone as good enough as him can slip under his radar, but other than that inexperienced people he can read them like an open book.
-He is fast and nimble since he had to always escape opponents that were stronger than him, or when he had to escape Elda's punishments.
-Photographic memory: Whatever he sees, either a person or book or place, he can remember it with precise accuracy.
-Efficient in hand-to-hand combat and an adequate swordsman.
-Is a good enough cook

Senior Staff: The same staff that Elda uses on him when he was little. Is not that special other than it is made of a very sturdy wood that would take several sword slashes to break through it.
