Serious: The Avenger Pirates; Chapter 2: A fateful meeting

As Maximillion was walking towards the forest, he said to Toshiro, Freyar and Dispater who happened to be there "Follow my lead...". The exploration of the forest had just started.

At the meantime, somewhere deep in the forest. A man with a mask and a strange outfit seems to be doing something. He was looking carefully around while hiding his pressence... He whispered "Hm... The treasure of Shichibukai Gael must be around here somewhere..."

Toshiro nodded, "As, you say Captain." He continued to follow Max through the forest.

Callen stopped and sweatdropped as he found two animals fighting with eachother.
He found this situation somewhat familar but he erased that thought as he watches them for a while, wondering if he should stop them or just back away before he gets hurt.
Well, it might be interesting to watch their scuffles.

As Maximillion was walking in the forest, he happened to see many trees. The island was definetely something weird... He had not seen an island with so many plants before... That was something amazing. However, he did not know that he had almost arrived at the house of one of the seven shichibukai....

Megan sat there, her back arched against a gigantic pyramid of gold and her legs crossed over each other. She was dressed in her Kuja clothes, which only consisted of a yellow leopard-skin bikini. As she lay there, sprawled out in a casual pose, her hands held a small harmonica that she softly blew into, causing the treasure-filled cave to lit up with music. It relaxed her, in many ways. The music she meant. It was perhaps the reason why she was so dressed down and relaxed when she should technically be on the look-out for approaching treasure hunters.

In fact, no one had ever really come here in the past two years. Meganehebi was bored and to reflect that, her music soon took a dull and slow beat. She just wanted to find the place where she had come from. Yet, all she knew, from a locket, was that her name was Orochi Meganehebi, and at some point she had consumed the naga Cursed Fruit. She had come upon Gael-sama's island, and, having no place to go, was now stuck here.

She pulled her legs in, sitting up as she rested her elbows on her knees, continuing to play. The bikini clad Kuja looked at the mountain of gold she was guarding. She had aged two years and had not let a single ounce of it out of her site, not once. There was nothing that would change it now either. She only wished that a good crew would come along though. She wanted to go out to sea, to feel the winds caressing her skin. But she couldn't.

So, the lonely Amazon continued to play, not knowing what fate had in store for her...

As Megan was guarding the treasure of Shichibukai Gael, the strange figure who was moving in the forest had almost reached the cavern where the treasure was held. With some graceful and quiet movements, he moved towards it, protecting himself from the vision of any visitors that happened to be around. The island was so crowded the day he was about to steal the treasure! He was very unlucky. But still, he would not give up his plan. He had progressed very much up until that point.

The man used a blade that looked like a strange rose to poison the ground. The vines that were engulfing the cavern were slowly poisoned and as the minutes passed they were more and more weaker up until they got extremely weak from the powerful poison. Then, the man used another strange rose to cut them down and procceeded inside the cavern. But little did he know, that the place was guarded by another person...

As Megan heard the footsteps of someone approaching and the shwing of things being cut, she quickly pulled her lips off her harmanica and threw it in a corner, jumping to her feet. Someone was coming, and she knew it was not Gael-sama. She could always tell when it was him, mainly due to her serpentine senses.

Her fists clenched, someone was trying to steal the treasure. Well, the Kuja intended to make sure that they would not succeed. The barefoot Amazon walked forth, through the mounds of gold by scaling and climbing up a few, before landing on her feet in front of the cave entrance. In her crouched, huntress position, she looked up at the intruder, brown eyes narrowing.

"Hold it!"

T.H. was surprised with Megan's pressence. He did not expect her to be there. He had not spotted her in the island before and so her appearance in front of that unimaginably great treasure shocked him. He had almost reached the treasure but she was now in front of his way. He rarely got obstacles in his plans... He did not expect this to happen...

He took a deep breath and said "Wow... A beautiful lady... What are you doing here, miss?" while smiling under his mask.

A red tinge came across Megan's cheeks at the comment about her beauty. Being cut off from the rest of the world, the Amazon really did not know whether she was attractive or not. She remembered the word "beauty" though, it struck something in her mind, like a cord of a long forgotten memory. A phrase played across her head, "strength is beauty". She didn't know what that meant. How can strength equate to beauty? She couldn't understand that. She wasn't quite as beautiful in her Arachne form and she knew she was a lot stronger as the Queen of Spiders.

Shaking her head, the brown-haired bikini-clad Kuja glared daggers at the masked man. Why was he so strangely clad? Granted, she didn't really know much about the fashions of the lands across the sea but, what was with the mask? Whatever the case may be though, she was not allowing him to go anywhere near Gael-sama's treasure. "I'll say it nicely. Leave, now. You do not belong here, and I cannot allow you any deeper inside this cave." she said it softly, so she wasn't rude, but still authoritative.

The thief smiled under his mask once more after he was asked by the Kuja to leave. He would not leave no matter what. Even if he was gentle towards Megan, he could value treasures much more than his own life. He was a very proud thief and treasure hunter, who would not let money get away from him easily. He said "I will probably leave... But first, I would like to give you something to remember me, beautiful miss..." as he drew one strange rose with purple petals on it and moved towards Megan to give it to her... It was the Sleep Rose... If Megan was cut by the thorns of the rose she would fall asleep for a while... And that would be enough for T.H. to steal Gael's treasure.

The red tinge around Megan's eyes widened as he pulled out a rose. What was this? Why a rose? What was wrong with this guy? Why was he giving her...? For some strange reason, a warning signal blew up in Megan's head. But she couldn't tell if it was a biproduct of her spider sense or a result of weirdness at what this guy was doing. No one who had ever come to this cave had given her a rose before.

But like every girl, even an amnesiac one, Megan knew the meaning of a rose. Instinctively, deep down inside, she did. And as it passed through her mind, the red tinge around her cheeks increased. Roses carried the deeper meanings of love and affection. What this masked man... Megan took it.

"Ow!"

And she dropped it, as the thorn pierced her thumb. She didn't know why. She knew she shouldn't, yet it seemed like she was willing to trust this man. Pfft, she was willing to trust a black, mask-clad man with a strangely colored rose, who was here to steal her treasure. Was Megan really beginning to... "Yawwwwwwwwn~~" she she yawned, not knowing why she was suddenly so sleepy. She didn't know what was happening. She she couldn't sleep, but... oh no, it was a rose. No, it was too late, her body wasn't listening. Stay awake was the command her brain initiated. She was going to fail Gael-sama... no...

Just like the purple rose before her, the bikini-clad Kuja crashed on the ground below in a heap. Next to a purple rose, she lay, a true sleeping beauty.

T.H. sighed as he watched at the woman who had started sleeping. She was very beautiful and her beauty even picked his interest. However, he could not do that much about it as he had to steal the treasure that was lying right in front of his eyes. He looked at all of it. It was definetely very much but he could not carry it... Megan could have woken up soon and she would chase him if she found out what he did. And so, the treasure hunter filled two big bags with a part of the treasure and got out of the cave after leaving a real rose at the Kuja's chest so that she could remember their meeting...

At the meantime, Maximillion looked at a house in the forest from a far away distance. He told to Dispater, Freyar, Toshiro and everyone else who was following "The place is probably inhabited... We have to be cautious from now on." and he moved towards the house.

[OOC: I noticed that the thread is dying...so can anybody post anything? This probably would not be too much of a fighting thread rather than a recruiting thread, anyway...]

Gael had gotten Peaba and Squil to stop maiming each other, when he noticed that the sensitive plant was reacting again. Returning to his house, he stuck his head in the doorway and asked, "Oh, do you guys have any other friends here?"

As Koga listened to Gael's question he was freaked out. Gael should not learn about his captain because he would probably want to meet him and if the two of them met with each other the captain would probably challenge him. However, the truth would be revealed soon, and so he said "Well... The people who are here are only half of the crew... In fact, we have some more members."

At the meantime, Maximillion almost reached the house...

Gael smiled. "Well, then, that must be the rest of your group, then! I'll just go invite them in~" He stepped out of the house, moving over to the edge of the moat. "Hello, friends of the talking turtle! I'll make a path for you!" Gael yelled, sending tree trunks coming horizontally over the surface of the ten yard wide moat to create a wooden bridge that his new guests could cross over.

Toshrio was stunned at the amount of plant life that inhabited the island. When the forest began to open up in front of the group he cocked his head. "Well, I guess we are invited in then."

Maximillion looked towards Gael who opened the path for them and he looked towards him with curiosity. That man's ability to control plants was very weird. He knew about the power of the Plant-Plant Fruit as he studied the Devil Fruits for a long time, but he was unaware of who its user was and what his reputation was. The captain sighed and said "Let me guess... You have eaten the Plant-Plant Fruit, right?". It seemed like he was willing to have a conversation before entering the house...

Gael beamed happily at his new guests. "Yes I have! How did you know?" Gael turned to lightly whack Squil upside the head: he had started hissing at Peaba again.

The captain took a deep breath before responding. He said "Well, I have made a research over Devil Fruits and I know most of them... Including extremely rare ones that a few amount of people know.". Then, he sighed once more. He looked around and asked with curiosity "Wow... This place is full of plants. Is this because of your power or did the plants normally grow on the island?"

Gael smiled. "A bit of both. L'isla della Luna was naturally that diverse... I was the one who grew these sundews on L'isla della Stella over here." He motioned at the house. "Want to come in? Your friends are already inside."

"Hm? My friends... Okay, I pressume." were the captain's words to the Shichibukai. Unlike what Koga believed, the captain decided not to pick up a fight with Gael as soon as he learned of his ability. With the terrifying ability to grow any plants he wanted, Gael would be a fearsome opponent. With the current level of Maximillion's strength there was no way he could beat him. The only thing he could do right now was relax and enjoy his staying on the island...

Gael opened the door, and motioned for the new guy to come into his house. "It really isn't much... just please, you see those briars in the corner? Don't go through them. Please."

The captain looked towards Gael with his face, which did not seem to change and said "Okay. I will not." and walked inside the house in order to meet the rest of the crew. As soon as he looked at them in there, he said "You slackers, what are you doing here? We were searching for you... We thought you got lost."

Koga was surprised to see Maximillion. He got up immediately and said with a trembling voice "So-So-Sorry captain! It will not happen again!"

Toshiro was a little taken aback to see a Shichibukai. "Uh,... This is a nice home you have here," he said as he entered. As he saw the other members of the crew he said, "Well now I don't have to go find them I guess."
