Iken was born to a warrior clan that was wanted by the government for their involvement with many revolutionary incidents throughout history. Where ever a revolutionary act against the government there was sure to be evidence of Iken's clan. Many rumors have sprung up about the clan such as they're a clan of demons, trying to explain their extraordinary strength or that they possess ancient text forbidden by the World Government. Despite all of the rumors one thing is known for certain, they have never allowed anyone in their family to become a marine and live.
When Iken was born he was branded with the image of a globe with a slash through it symbolizing the clans hate of the World Government. Before he could walk or even talk he like the rest of the babes in his clan underwent strength training and vigorously fed certain vitamins and supplements. At the age of two his clan furthered his training by convincing him that the model sword and weapons were all for play. Day in and day out he would be given bigger weapon models until at the age of five. At five years old the children of Iken's clan were made to use full sized weapons and pared up with an adult caretaker for intense training. After being taken in by a caretaker the child isn't to have contact with their family until they turn 15 years old. The next 10 years of Iken's life was hell, he was trained to the point of death several times. Due to his care takers close relationship with Iken's father, Iken was push much harder than any man in his clan had been.
Iken was released from his caretaker at the age of 17, two years longer than normal. The extra two years were Iken's choice, he wanted to be the strongest in the history of the clan. Upon being released from the caretaker Iken met his family after years of separation. It was a quiet joy that he and his family felt, expressed with smiles and a few hugs. Iken had grown tall and strong during the decade apart from his family, he also had a little brother that was about to be taken in. Spending time with his little brother was Iken's highest priority as he may never see him again once he leaves to his caretaker.
With in a week of Iken finally seeing his family a government raid on his village took place. The raid was quickly destroyed by the powerful warriors of Iken's clan. Iken's father took out the majority of the marines with his mighty sword passed through the generations of the Namikaze family. Two weeks later and countless raids and attack, a meeting took place to decide if and where to relocate their village. A unanimous vote of the village elders and warriors agreed to move the village to their winter hideout in a cave near the volcano. That night the entire village packed up their belongings and set out to relocate.
After a few hours of walking the the group was stopped by Iken's father. A few warriors ran to the front of the group to see what the trouble was and why they were all stopped so suddenly. Iken however knew exactly why his father had stopped the group due to his intense training with his caretaker. Gun shots range out confirming Iken's suspicions that they were walking into a marine ambush. Iken drew his two trusty katana preparing for battle and to protect everyone of his village. Women and children screamed and began running toward the hideout lead by a select few warriors. Iken began to run towards the sounds and smells of battle with a lust for marine blood like none other.
Slashing and cutting, Iken drop his blades into countless marines. Three men came at Iken with their swords drawn, Iken gutted them with his katanas sweeping in a spiral motion. Marine after marine fell to his blade and the blades of his comrades. A large explosion from far off sounded throughout the island. Iken spins around in the direction of the explosion only to see fire and death coming from the sky. The volcano they were heading to had erupted, given the amount of time he had been fighting and how far they had already come Iken was sure the rest of the village was at the site of the eruption. Iken took off running towards his clan hoping to save as many as he could, a tree in the middle of the path was turned to mulch as he sped forward.
Once Iken had finally arrived he was finally able to witness the power of the strongest man of the village. Iken's father had single handedly rerouted the path of the lava and once every one was out of danger solidified it by standing in it's path and absorbing all of it's energy with his mighty sword. A second eruption many times bigger than the first, spewed molten rock and fire into the air. With the energy he had absorbed from the first eruption Iken's father blew away the entire volcano magma and all. A lone figure flew down from the top of from what was once the volcano.
The man that came from the tip top of the volcano was dressed in a marine uniform. He spoke to Iken's father for a moment almost as if they knew each other or something, unfortunately Iken wasn't able the hear their conversation. An instant later Iken's father and the man in the marine uniform were engaged in a battle that shook the vary ground they stood on. It was soon apparent to Iken who would be the victor in this epic battle, despite both landing punishing blows. The battle was intense but short, Iken's father lost and there for the hope of the entire village was also lost. One after another the villages warriors fell at the hands of the powerful marine until Iken was the last.
Iken stood his ground flicking his wrists to flick off the marine blood from his swords. This act enraged the super powerful foe, the foe aggression startled Iken making him freeze. The man drove his fist into Iken's chest causing Iken to spit up blood. With one hit Iken had been beaten, but he didn't back down even though his vision blurred and he found it hard to breath. As Iken began to black out he seen his father get up despite his mortal wounds. With a running throw Iken's father threw his might sword off the island and across the sea, he then charged toward Iken grabbing him by the arm and throwing him in roughly the same direction of the sword.
When Iken came to, he found himself laying in a small crater on a tropical island. A pool of blood mixed with mud filled the hole Iken laid in. Somehow Iken managed to get to his feat and made his way to a small village. Mere yards from the village Iken collapsed falling into a small bush off the beaten path. Since he was in a remote part of the village he figured he would die where he laid with out knowing what had happened to the rest of the villagers. Iken chuckled at himself realizing he was a hopeless optimist if he thought anyone he had ever knew survived other than himself. Even that was about to come to an end, Iken knew he was going to die.
Iken awoke to find himself wrong yet again, he was alive somehow. A small old man walked into the room turning on the lights as he did. The old man picked up an old dust book blowing off the dust, walking over towards Iken. Picking up a small stool and sitting it next to Iken the man sat down looking at Iken. "My grandson...I'm sorry....but it seems you're the only one to survive. Your father must have been desperate to have thrown away the sword and his eldest son...It seems the only man to ever leave our village to join the marines finally came back to fulfill his pledge to wipe out the greatest danger to the World Government. It's all my fault...I should have killed your uncle the moment he first started his babble about joining the government." The man revealed to Iken. Pressing his hands on his knees the old man got up form the stool and said one last thing to Iken, "You wont be safe for long...He will track me down and try to kill me to finish it all...You need to recover within a mouth, well at least recover enough to travel."
A month passed and then two, after six months nothing had happened. Iken was happy that he was with his grandfather and further more he was just as wrong as Iken usually was. After all this time Iken had done nothing but rest and he felt his body going soft. Iken walked out of his grandfathers hut and began training, first of sprints, second weight training, and lastly combat training. "Pathetic" Iken's grandfather yelled as he watched Iken handle his weapon in training. Iken looked at his grandfather surprised by his comment towards his techniques. Not once in Iken's entire like had someone call his techniques pathetic. "What?" Iken questioned stunned. This was the first time anyone had said anything other than amazing as a comment towards him.
"You heard me, I said you're pathetic." the old man said grabbing his hip. "I heard that...but why?" Iken wondered. "Are you kidding me?...No,no you're not are you." his grandfather said with a loud sigh of disappointment. The old man walked up to Iken and grabbed his shoulders, one in each hand. Iken felt the power of the small old man, Iken knew then that old man could crush him without breaking a sweet or trying whatsoever. "I'm going to train you my boy...A year should be enough to whip you into shape." said the old man smiling. To Iken the words were his worst nightmare, it was like slow motion. It was a disaster he just couldn't avoid, it felt like his spirit would be crushed there and then. All of the sudden Iken's grandfather took his hands off Iken's shoulders and walked away. The weight off of Iken's shoulders was amazing, he could breath again. It just seemed so surreal, like the aftermath of a massive twister and he was the only one to survive out of a whole town.
Exactly one and a half years later Iken was hit with an intense right hook that shook the ground as it connected. All Iken could do to counter was return his grandfathers attack with a right hook of his own. Iken's right hook had the same effect of his grandfather causing the ground it's self to shake as it connected. "Damn old man looks like you're getting rusty!" Iken said smugly. "Heh a youn'un such as yourself should be much stronger than this. You can barely keep up with an old man like me!" Iken's grandfather said with a grin. The old man picked up a large boulder and threw it at Iken. Iken had seen this trick many times he had to options. If he dodged his grandfather would get behind him and knock him down and if he broke through it his grandfather would just appear in front of him and take him down that way. The boulder maybe massive but it no more than a mere distraction, an illusion or a trick. Iken slammed his fist into the rock turning it into rubble and in the split second it blocked his grandfathers view Iken moved to behind the spot where he would be if Iken predicted his move right. He was right, Iken predicted his grandfathers move perfectly and countered with a punch. However what Iken didn't predict was that the frail looking old man was just that a frail old man. Iken's grandfather was on the ground on his knees coughing up blood into his hands.
"Crap...I...I can't stop!" Iken mumbled as his punch was sure to connect. With one raised eyebrow the old man stopped Iken in his tracks, he froze just like before against the marine. Iken grabbed his head as he was on the verge of passing out for just a raise eyebrow. This made no sense to Iken, he was physically stronger than his grandfather, sure he had experience on his side...but why was he so much stronger. "I..i..it's ..just...not...faaaii...rrr..." Iken said as he passed out. When Iken came to he found himself laying in th middle of the forest, making his way to the village Iken was surprised at what he found. He found a hole where the village had once been, in the center of the hole partially buried was something the glistened. Iken jumped down and began sliding down towards the mystery item. As he got closer he could tell it was a handle and a familiar one at that. With a mighty tug Iken pulled the sword out of the stone, dirt, and rubble to confirm his suspicion of it being his fathers sword.
During a visit to a bar Iken ran into two ill tempered men. One man killed a man in front of a child which enraged Iken causing him to hop into action. The man happened to have a slime devil fruit that he used to fight Iken. Goru, the user of slime attacks against Iken proved useless against Iken's Namikaze fight techniques. Winning the fight without take a scratch Iken treated Goru's wounds and left the destroyed bar. Two weeks later Iken met a man named Kenjiro who was floating around in a small boat. Iken invited the man on board and officially making him a Steel Village pirate and Iken's first mate. Soon after the Village of Steel landed at an island where the discovered a boy over dosing on drugs. Take the boy to a center of the village to find a doctor Iken met two more crew mates. After a struggle in the center of town Iken gained several more crew mates including the man he beat two weeks earlier and a sassy young girl.
Seeing a marine warship in the distance Iken ordered his navigator to take them to the nearest island and lower their Jolly Rodger. A few hours past and the island came into view however the warship owned by Derge had followed them. Upon landing Iken noticed Derge's ship had disappeared, Iken chalked it up to nothing more than they turned around and stopped following them. However unknown to Iken and his crew the large ship had docked on the other side of the island in efforts to avoid detection from the Steel pirates. Going into a local weapons shop Iken found out the island was a marine family base. The island was more or less a home for the higher up marines' families while they were on active duty and thanks to his lowering of his Jolly Rodger he avoided the 10 marine ship circling the island for protection.
Exiting the shop Iken met up with Derge his long lost brethren who he thought to still be is nakama. A battle soon broke out between Iken's and Derge's first mates. Kenjiro and Roy fought a great battle to the death, the end result was Kenjiro killing Roy and man with a former bounty of 15 million. Taking a cheap shot, Derge impaled Iken with a spike of blood. The ensuing battle between a few members of Steel crew and Iken versus Derge resulted in Derge winning. A large number of casualties and loss of buildings in the market district was also a result of the great battle.
After the battle Derge told Iken of the upcoming battle in Atlantis which he would participate in. Two weeks later Iken and his crew were on their way to Atlantis with their ship having been coated. Beating Derge to Atlantis Iken made a hole in the dome that separated Atlantis from the sea outside. Having Goru make a bridge of slim Iken and his crew entered Atlantis for the very first time. Almost as soon as they arrived they were confronted by a cyborg woman named Medusa. Iken refused attack her due to the fact she was a woman, however he ended up having to defeat her himself.
After the battle Iken left slightly distraught that it took so much of his power to defeat such a weak opponent. Following a trail of destruction and death Iken found a library. Coming out of that library was Derge, Iken for once in his life felt fear for himself. Derge being in a hurry decided not to fight Iken and went on his way. After the encounter with Derge Iken's breathing began to become heavy and for a moment he froze. Iken regained his composure to see what damage Derge had done to the library, to his surprise he found two men still living.
For the first time Iken met Gael and Ranyx, both legends in their own rights. He also met a crazy man that tried to attack Gael, but Iken was able to talk him out of it. Iken begged Ranyx to teach him the skills he needed to kill Derge who apparently had just attacked the him. Gael seemed to take to Iken's kindness almost immediately therefore Ranyx said he would teach Iken after the war. As the three were walking along together, the most powerful man in the Atlantis army, Hercules.
Defending the slightly off Gael Iken fought the powerful cyborg. Not damaging or getting hurt himself Iken fought the man on par with the aid of his sword. Hearing there was a buster call Gael and Ranyx left to confront Jiper leaving Iken by himself. Soon a ring went through the air, it was a call from his Second Division Commander Sangjo. He told Iken about the buster call, forcing Iken to cancel out his attack on Hercules. Ordering his crew to leave Iken's silent rage allowed him to awaken a new speed he never had before.
Appearing near Gael and Jiper Iken told Gael to do what he needed and Iken would fight Jiper. Almost instantly Jipre broke out his ultimate move, this however was easily dealt with by Iken's Rejection Slayer. Using Jiper's energy Iken leaped up to the dome punching a hole in it releasing sea water into the dome. Using the water as a speed boost Iken sliced at Jiper, however Jiper dodged using a super fast soru. Jiper was faster than Iken, but he wasn't anywhere close to the fastest he had ever seen. As Jiper tried to attack Iken form behind, Jiper dove into the torrent of water slowing and weakening himself. This allowed Iken to block and take in the air blades, Iken using his Ultimate attack released the energy that Jiper had given him at Jiper. The attack hit causing Jiper a massive amount of damage, it's backlash also shredded Iken arms. In the end Iken drew in the battle against the Admiral.
In the time after Iken began some training with Ranyx along with letting his arms heal completely. Iken didn't know what happened to the Admiral for Iken let him live. After the war Iken found himself spending over a month with Ranyx and Gael. In that time they man became good friends while Iken learned a few things from Ranyx. Gael and Ranyx were both easy to get along with for Iken, and were both good to the captain. Hearing rumors of a marine attack on his crew, Iken departed with Ranyx. Despite moving at full speed nearly the whole way Iken and Ranyx arrived during an intense battle between the Steel and a large group of marines.
Following the scent of his first mates blood to the shore, Iken ignored the raging battle. Upon arriving at the shore Iken was able to see and catch up with the marines ship holding Kenjiro. However a swordsman shark fishman attacked Iken slowing him down. Despite being the one that beat Kenjiro, Iken was able to use the fishmans own attack against him killing him in a short battle. Albeit short, the battle was more than enough time for the marine battleship to escape with it's capture. In a rage Iken returned to the island, seeing a marine trying to back stab another of his nakama Iken raged. Showing his dark side Iken appeared behind the marine grabbing his head, brain matter exploded outward as Iken applied large amounts of pressure.
In a blind rage, Iken followed the marines with the whole crew arriving at a marine prison camp. The Steel Village attacked the prison island violently, they were easily able to break through the main walls. The marines were no match for the enraged crew, they quickly fell one by one. This occurred until he captain level marines appeared, each one flaunting a dangerously powerful devil fruit. With the smell of blood and black powder Iken couldn't find Kenjiro's exact location. With that fact Iken departed the island with Volt to find the legendary wolf continuously looking for a worthy opponent.
Using pure brute strength and hand to hand combat Iken was able to fight with the beast. Even the mythical wolf was no match for the captain of the Steel Village. With Iken's powerful and accurate attacks he was able to swiftly beat the wolf without injuring it to badly. After the battle the creature and Iken bonded through some mythical power possessed by the wolf truly making Iken it's master. It was like each of their lives flashed by through the others mind. The mind sync made it so it was like they knew each other from the beginning, they shared everything, memories, feelings, and even dreams. Using the newly named Muso's super speed the two returned to the island and to the ship, where a roll of lightning and clap of thunder turned the sky dark as it struck Iken's new lightning blade.
Muso quickly took Iken to the place where Kenjiro's scent was the strongest. It was like a scene from a horror movie, blood and obvious signs of torture filled the room and the nearby cells. Kenjiro's blood had been split, in some of the most violent ways possible. The scene enraged Iken, with his rage bubbling the captain released a powerful shock wave combined with an explosive 30 million volts to cut through the tower above head. With the tower crumbled into ruined pieces Iken leaped out to see the battle yet raging on. His crew was putting up a valiant effort against the powerful foes, some were even clearly winning their battles.
Seeing an all consuming yami yami used attacking his nakama, Iken leaped into battle. With Holy's Iken was able to get the upper hand against the darkness user. Using his spear of summoning Iken was able to literally appear inside the mans body of infinite darkness. Using his blade with seastone core Iken was able to cut his way out of the mans body, heavily injuring the man as he did. With a swift slash Iken sent the mans head rolling on the ground with blood squirting out. As Iken finished his foe, Luke took out the sand man with his swift assassin skills.
With the harsh battle behind them Iken took his crew to Water Seven for a well deserved vacation. In the time relationships were formed, friendship, love, and casual sex all flourished on the shores of the industrial town. During this time Iken ordered his new ship, the Nation of Steel was a large transport ship with power of multiple battle ships. Using a previous debt the ship building company Galley La owed to the former Steel Village, the ship was more or less free of charge to the captain. Honoring their past debts the company built the ship, taking a month. However before the completion of the ship a war broke out.
Due to an accident Holy was nearly drown, he was taken by his father Unholy. Unholy stole his son's body and killed his old body with Holy's mind floating inside. This combined with the death of another nakama caused Iken to go into a rage never seen before. He attacked enemy and friend alike, it was like he just wanted everything to die. Using his powers to create a plant that revived dead from all times Gael used Apocalypse which Iken had killed in the previous battle to slow him down. However having beat the yami yami used before Iken was going to do it again. During this time the battle raged, a marine named Payne entered with Gary to challenge Unholy. Seeing Unholy kill Gary and come close to death snapped Iken out of his trance, for he didn't want anyone else to kill Holy's body, it had to be him.
With his new found mind, Iken killed the yami yami used freeing himself of the users grasp. In a flash Iken appeared slashing Unholy in the chest with his Rejection Slayer. The seastone core canceled out the mind switch that Unholy had done earlier. At the same time Iken sent out a 30 million volt shock wave to cancel out Paynes fire bullets. A roar of agony sounded over the battlefield as Unholy's mind had nowhere to go since his body was already dead. With his body dead, Unholy's mind was torn into pieces and taken over by Holy. The true owner of the body was back, however he was terribly injured. A random stalker sacrificed his life to completely heal Holy, it even restored the life force Unholy had used with the Silver Flare attack.
After having suffered a few losses, Iken took some time to recoup. Making his way to Rose Island, a small Steel Village controlled island, Iken held a meeting. In the time they had taken to reach the small island, Iken had been named a Yonkou. The rumors of Iken's new tittle sparked interest in the pirate. Many people sought out the pirate, however only one was able to find him. A man with a strange power was able to entertain Iken long enough for the pirate emperor to hold back while he delivered his usual speech. Despite the speech the man continued his assaults. The battle ended with a lightning strike. Leaving the island the crew split all heading for different directions.
Sailing to four different locations, the Steel Village approached four islands. Stepping onto the islands it seemed as if the crew would be successful in taking the islands as their territory. However thanks to Iken no confrontation order the missions to take the island were all failures. Iken didn't want to force the islands into alliances with his crew. Once again the Steel Village returned to the safe haven of Rose Island. Thanks to it being literally unknown it proved to be a good place from them to return. After a few days a rest the crew was met with a surprise. It turns out their little safe haven wasn't so unknown after all. Anubis, another Yonkou tracked down the Steel for a meeting. During the meeting Iken learned of the other Yonkou's plans. He also learned that Anubis was dying of some mysterious disease only found on Drum Island. Drum Island at the time was the territory of the former Yonkou Wally. However since then the Yonkou had since disappeared.
With their new ship obtained before the Unholy War, the crew made their way to Fishman Island. The trip was long and dangerous, however it was worth the view. Fishman Island was beautiful as the ship came upon it. However the splendor of it's beauty didn't last long. The ship was attack by a massive hydra seaking, half the size of Fishman Island it's self. Despite it's large size, the Steel Villages fishman division made quick work of the monster. After the Steel Village made it to the docks, they were attack by a small raid of fishman. Despite some collateral damage to the ship the crew beat the invasion force relatively easily. After the battle Iken once again shown his dark side trying to get information out of one of the attackers. However it proved unnecessary as Namor soon contacted the Yonkou. Meeting at Coral Reef, Namor explained the situation. Anchor a powerful fishman had taken over the island for Namor's sister, the true ruler of the island. Making their way to Noah, Iken came up with a plan of a attack. Taking a spear to the chest and a full power attack from Bruce, Iken was prepared to attack. Using the two mermaids as a distraction, Iken teleported in. Using a small amount of his built up power, Iken sent Anchor flying out of Noah and into the main section of Fishman Island. After the defeat of Anchor they crew met with the Queen for their rewards. Next stop was Mermaid Cove where they met Ami's cousin and soon her whole family. At that point Sangjo then proposed to his mermaid love. She said yes.
Soon after entering the Grandline the crew made their way to the home island of the Vice Captain; Sangjo "The Screeching Siren" Bass. They were immediately met by someone trying to charge a docking fee. The man was easily taken care off, however he turned out to be none other than Trumpet Bass, Sangjo's brother. Take a select few to the music tower, Iken met with Sangjo's father. The man gave his blessings to his son and his mermaid fiancee. However the happy times were short lived as Karasu interrupted. After a short meeting with the Yonkou the shichibukai went to leave the island. Unfortunately he was attacked by two pirate, belonging to the same group that simultaneously attacked the Steel. Karasu nearly died in the resulting battle, however was saved by the new first division commander Desais who made short work of the remaining pirate. Iken after being thrown across the island was able to take out the Unknown Pirates fishman commander along side Arlen. Returning to the battle he tipped the favor of it to the Steel. Sangjo was able to kill the lightning wielding man-god with a near suicide attack. A battle between a man that could control the weather it's self and Iken shook the island to it's core. In order to save the island, Iken took a near fatal blow to finally finish off the vile fiend of a foe.
After nearly a month of sailing the crew found themselves in short supply of their basic necessities. With the captain on bed rest, it was decided they would stop at a nearby uncharted island to stalk up on supplies. As soon as they did, they were attacked by a group owned by the Celestial Dragon's. It was an exotic animal smuggling and training ring. The Steel made short work of the monsters and their trained, as well as the marine reinforcements. However the next foe would test them all in more than just the conventional ways. Derge "The Blood Demon" Namikaze and his Blood Stained Revolutionaries attacked. They killed the old fishman division commander with ease. The army of cyborgs overwhelmed and killed one of the newer members while Iken and Derge fought viciously. It was hit and miss until Sangjo entered. Tipping the battle in the favor of Iken, the injured captain broke nearly every bone in the right side of Derge's body. However before he could finish the demon, he began to argue with Sangjo on what was best. The first mate and captain fought, their battle cracked the island and destroyed the forest. After taking a hit from Sangjo, many of the recent internal injuries that Iken sustained were reopened. However Sangjo was the one to lose a leg in the midst of the battle.
After the battle, Iken left the crew and set out on his own to find things out. In his travels Iken found himself amassing what almost looked to be another crew. He had his mission. Iken was going to rid the world of the evil that had plagued it the entirety of the time he had been on his adventures. Growing evils that if not stopped could eventually take the world down, dragging it into version of the world that could truly be considered hell on earth. After his battle with the island monster known as Pele Iken and the remained of his forces set out to confront the first target. He was an old friend of Iken’s that had stared from the path of goodness, Maximillion. In the battle with Maximillion Iken fought well, however in the end Iken was serious and mortal injured.
After months of lingering Iken was at the end of his rope. One rainy afternoon, Iken's worst nightmare came walking in the front door. Derge, Iken's own kin tracked him and his love down. A short battle ensued leaving both near death after a lightning strike. However not even the forces of Mother Nature were enough to stop Derge. The Blood Demon fought and quickly destroyed Iken's mistress. The fact that she was with child meant nothing to him nor the marines watching from afar. Rightfully, this gave them all the title of the Blood Demon.
Enraged, Iken got up for one last fight; even if it killed him he was going to drag Derge down to hell with him. Derge's and Iken's ensuing battle leveled the small island, killing most of its people. Deep crevices and tremendous amounts of blood were created and thrown around as the two monsters battled. However, in the end, Derge added insult to injury by
slicing off Iken's head with his own blade.
