"And if we don't arrive by then," came Vince's ruined voice from behind Tero, the Rear Admiral leaning uncomfortably close to the large man from behind his right shoulder, "we can always have a fiesta."

Stepping out from behind Tero, Vince snapped his jaw shut. Though it was more or less impossible to tell, the tightening of the marine's exposed jaw sinews implied he was trying to smile.

"I saw that we have plenty of lemons in the larder," Kalamity explained, pointing to the cabin door. "I make a mean chimichurri."

"Thank you, sir," Tero saluted Nishki. He smiled slightly as he began turning away...only to see Vince, who spoke to him and then walked around Tero. "Ah," Tero didn't know what else to say. "Thank you, but I'm not really hungry right now..." Tero noticed Vince's officer coat and saluted him, finishing his sentence with a brief, "...sir."

Looking at the scene from her place, Talitha couldn't help but shudder in disgust at the thought of having that man anywhere near the food...
Her good hearing sense wasn't always an advantage, some things she'd rather just... not know...
Plus, normally she always knew where a person stood in her black and white world. Normally, pirates stood on the black side and marines on the white side. and anyone else... differed.
But that guy was wearing a marine coat! And he disgusted her! It was confusing!

Nishki then looked , no one was there. Nishki looked a little dissapointed, but then again , if he forfeit, he forfeit. "Since, Keitaro has not appeared on the battlefield.... we will take it as his forfeit and give the victory to Ensign Kite !!!"

Kite was shocked that the guy just disappeared like that. But still he was glad he won, even if by disqualification.

Nishki then said, "ok kiddies, off to round two.,, and the first match is...." Nishki then looked on to the list and said "Kakura vs Talitha!!!!!"

Talitha was up on her feet and on the battlefield in an instant. Straight to action! She had started to get bored. Who was she up against? She hadn't really listened until her name was mentioned.
Well, who cared, ayway? Time for some asskicking!

Kakura eyes opened widely. He is going against a lady! Kakura is a gentlemen, how could he fight a woman. He thought carefully, he didn't want to fight her, not because he feared her or he thought she was weak, but because of her gender. He looked to Grey and said in a worried voice," I can't fight her!" Grey looked back at him with a look of disappointment, as he sighed," Listen Kakura, don't worry about gender, she is your teammate, treat her as such and get on the battlefield and fight her at once",Grey ordered. Kakura responded with a tone of annoyance," Fine!" Kakura walked to the field with a gloomy look upon his face, observing his opponent. He held his staff in front of him. He asked," So you ready Talitha?"

"Hrrrrm..."
Talithas eyes got that cold, annoyed look again. Just how often...
"It's Captain Blythe, for gods sake! Why does everyone these days think he can just walk up to me and call me whatever he wants?"
She was sulking... Oh yeah, that'd definitely get him to respect her. Sulking like a kid, even with her arms crossed.

"Are we allowed to wager, Nishki-chujo?" Vince asked, raising the cup of venom that Jissly had given him to his teeth. "This should be a good match..."

Sipping the toxin with the horrid, lip-less slurping sound of fluid being sucked between teeth, Kalamity rolled the thin liquid around on his tongue. Letting out a pleased 'ahh,' he poured the remainder of the sample down his throat.

"On the one hand, Ensign Kakura seems to boast high vitality," Kalamity explained to whoever was bothering to listen to him. "He took a hit directly from Ensign Jareem's iron glove without seeming all too bothered by it."

Twirling the empty cup around in his hand, Vince tilted his head the other way.

"On the other hand, however, Captain Blythe's devil fruit and feral fighting style work well together...ahh, it's fun to watch." Handing the sample cup over to a young rating to dispose of, Kalamity raised his right hand.

"I guess I can only go with my gut. It's hardly reliable to judge anyone's skills from just a couple of short fights like the last set," Vince reasoned. "All the same..." Trailing off his words, the raised leveled off to point at Talitha.

"My money is on Captain Blythe, Chujo."

Kakura sighed as he corrected himself," Sorry Captain Blythe, anyways you ready or what?" Kakura said as he transferred his staff to his right hand, spinning it at high velocity. He already prepared for windmill, early in the fight, he didn't want to underestimate his opponent for a second. Kakura dashes at his opponent with speeds of 5 to 7 mph, he could only adapt to his opponents speed, though he was unaware of his opponents speed. Taking a wild chance, the young ensign aimed his spear at his opponent's chest. The rod still spinning, changed the attack from a mere charge of the rod to a spinning rod, that would strike vertically, instead of horizontally. He started to feel the effects of the man from earlier, as his attack decreased in speed as his rod came closer to Blythe's chest.

Vice Admiral Nishki smiled when he heard Vinces prediction, he love Talitha so part of him wanted her to win without getting hurt. But he knew her, she would obviously look to get hurt so she can win.

But then Nishki said "Dont count out Kakura yet..... the man has some impressive skill with his weapon..... however, the barrier he must overcome is varying situations.... what if the enemy is faster than you? Stronger than you? More experienced? Talitha provides that test..... if Kakura passes it..... then he will truly nbe something to fear......."

Talitha saw him coming towards her. ONe second, she was standing there, just watching and waiting, the next she was... gone?
Using te size difference to her advantage was part of her style. And right now, she was using it by changing into full lynx form. It only took her a second to get behind Kakura and ready to jump.
She couldn't help but hiss angrily, her animal instincts taking over, while jumping, ready to sink her teeth in his neck.

Normally, Kakura would jump in the air and provide an aerial attack from the sky downwards. He visualized the speed of his opponent as she disappeared before him. Kakura's body reaction, would save him from most attacks, but this time, Kakura was not fighting as if he was healthy. Kakura took a wild shot, he knew the basics of battle, he assumed Taltha would reappear behind him. If Kakura was fighting Grey, that is where he would aim. Kakura shifted the palm of his right hand, in a reverse position, almost like the position of throwing a javelin. Aiming his rod right above his right shoulder, his arm twisted, Kakura thrusts his rod next to the right of his neck. If Talitha had seem this coming, Kakura would be unaware as his attack would only thrust air, if she dodged it. His left hand touching his stomach in agony. His movement was rusty and uncoordinated, the pain in his stomach distracted him.

Agh! Big rod in her way!
She almost crashed into it, but then her reflexes took over. God, she loved herself for using shapechanging so much in battle, it had made it a reflex.
In a matter of not even a second, she had changed into hybrid form and watched the rod miss her eyes by a mere inch.
Close... Damn close... This guy right here was dangerous.
She readied to strike him with both claws, but noticed something wasn't... right...
Maybe it was striking at his back? No, she had done that in her fight against Rafiq, way back when she had first joined the squad.
Her feline eyes took in his position, his way of attack, the tension of his muscles... Was he in pain?
His stomach? Now, stricking a man from behind wasn't a problem, but stricking an injured mam from behind...
She knew sympathy and pity could be fatal in a fight, but this was still her ally!
She stopped her own claw from stricking and instead slung it around the arm holding the weapon, while slinging the other aroundhis neck and, in one swift motion, kicked at the back of his knees and his lower back.
If that wouldn't make him fall, then she would have to draw blood, no matter how allied or in pain he was.

Before Kakura could react, something powerful drove into his lower back, feeling like a boulder, then again at back of his knees. He felt his muscles gradually in pain as he fell to his knees. Suddenly, an arm grabbed the near end of his staff, another closing on his neck. He felt as if he was in submission, unable to move. he looked behind him to see Talitha, though only for a second. As he cried in agony of the irritation in his stomach and lower intestine area," AAAAHHHHH!" The pain proved tremendously severe as his sight started to fade. His eyes falling lower as if he were falling asleep. He underestimated Ensign Jareem's power, the iron fist did gradual damage to him, but its effect kicked in later. He failed to realize it before the second round, how foolish of Kakura to be unaware of his health.

From Afar Grey observed Kakura, his reaction was lowered, honestly Grey knew he could of reacted before Talitha attacked his legs, it seemed a mere wound lowered his defenses, lowered his reflexes and his senses. Jareem was a formidable enemy, but looking at the boxer, Grey was unaware of the strength he held. Though the fight still did not meet its conclusion. In response, Grey observed Talitha's fighting style, a preview for their inevitable fight.

Felt wrong... Making an ally scream... If it was her that made him scream. Whatever, it still felt wrong.
But she didn't stop. A little feeling of moral wrongness didn't mean much to an animal based on fighting instincts. It was in such times that she was truly thankful for her devilfruit providing such strong instincts...
He'd either be unconcious soon, or give up. It was good she was so close to his ear.
While continuing to hold his arm and neck tight, so that he could barely move, and not even think of hitting her, she whispered in his ear.
"C'mon, give up already. You're hurt. But if you don't give up, then the pain you're feeling now will be nothing compared to the pain you'll feel when you wake up."
She knew what she was talking about. Jackson had done this to her during training once, when she had barely been a marine soldier without any devilfruit abilities. When she had woken up, she had thought she'd rather be dead...

Kakura drooped his head down, not even a breathe came out of his mouth. His short red hair falling upon Talitha's arm. His chin set upon her wrist. His left arm falling down to his waist, his right arm feeling as if it was dead, losing feeling under the arm of Talitha. Grey observed from afar, looking at Kakura with a concerned look. Jissly as well. Jissly spoke towards Nishki,"Vice Admiral Nishki, I think Kakura is unconscious." Grey responded," Yes, yes he is. I guess Talitha won, I know when my friends are unconscious, that look upon his face brings back nostalgia."

Nishki then clapped his hands "Excellent battle...... the WINNER IS TALITHA!!!!!!" Nishki then looked to the side "The next battle is Tero vs Ensign KITE!!!!" Ensign Kite came out with his sword and was waiting for Sergeant Tero.

"C'mon man...Let's get you to the doc."
Who was she talking to? Well... Kakura couldn't hear her, but...
Well, anyway she took his arm and laid it around her shoulders, dragging him away from the field.
"Damn you're heavy! And you're gonna feel like hell when ya wake up, I promise..."
Her eyes barely caught sight of Nishki for a second. Busy as usual. Not that she was one to complain. Better he did his work right.
