Serious: The Aurora Pirates Part 4: An Island Within an Island

Pyriss smiled, she possessed the information to decipher who these people were. Though they were a lot like Lucy and whats his name. Pyriss's mentor Lucy had blonde hair and she was very fast. Whats his name was very tall with dark hair and a large weapon. Though both Lucy and what his name were not only dead, but could not coexist without annihilating each other. The light brown haired man spiked Pyriss's interest more so than anyone else.

So everyone but the light brown one took action. Why? If the three were equals they would all attack. If one of them was in charge of the others, the light brown one not making an interference would make sense. By the sound of them, they seemed to be high level marines, the light brown haired one being the leader or the one who makes the decisions. Though was there a motive to the random attack on this ship? Why simply attack this ship, for what reason? Pyriss thought in her mind.

Pyriss looked at the boy. She asked" Yes another question captain. Boy do you know of anything significant on this ship? Anyone or thing of value, it seems that your captain's body was not excavated, so it wasn't his bounty they were interested in. Was is something on this ship?"

"Nothing here." Kaori said, leaning on his spear. He was bearing his usual grim look, though now it seemed to have an actual purpose. "This is distressing. Random killers moving around the area. Powerful too. We may be their next target." Kaori speaks.

Heiki scratched her head. "Wha? Where did everyone go?" she mumbled, pulling down the scarf that was covering her face.

"Stupid girl. Lazy girl," Karasu scolded.

"Should have woken me up," Heiki frowned, sitting up at looking around to see where everyone was. She finally found them inside the ship next to her, talking to a small child. 'Don't know what's going on, but I'll just stay here. Someone needs to watch the ship.' She smiled, pulling out an apple from the barrel next to her. 'Of course, that's just an excuse to not move.'

Resting her head on the ship's side and nibbling away at the apple, she watched the crew and the kid.

"No," the boy said. "There's nothing on this ship. Well, there's some money in the captain's cabin, but we weren't rich. And I don't know if they're moving around searching for people. Like I said, we were headed for an island. There were high cliffs around the place. The enemy came down on us from above. I don't know if they jumped. They might have though."

"What was the name of the island?" James asked.

"I think the island's name was Camille," the boy said. "You're not headed there, are you?"

"We were not," James said. "But this sounds interesting."

"You can't!" the boy yelled. "I don't want to die!"

"You won't die," James replied. "If it makes you feel any better we can drop you off somewhere else on the way there, but after that you're on your own."

Pyriss thought at a different standpoint, instead of suspecting that the marines had something to do with this massacre. She instead suspected that the people were in fact indigenous to the island. Probably trying to protect their turf from invaders. The team seemed to extract fear very proficiently. Though Pyriss wasn't in piteous fear anymore, she was now more informed to the actual problem at hand. She knew that she was going to the island. Pyriss actually was not at all against going to the island, she wanted to find out more and write an experience about it in her book. This could be probably something extremely interesting. She looked to Kaori who seemed to look grim, she assumed that he was a little opposed to going to the island. He was the most cautious member on the crew. She also wondered what the chef was thinking about. Anyways, she had to navigate to the island. If she opposed, it would cause conflict.

" Hmm, seems to be something about defending their turf. Probably an act of self defense or security, though this seems to be a little overboard. Though I sincerely doubt that this would happen to us. I'm all for going to the island, probably it is something to see there. I see no reason that they would attack an entire crew if they weren't protecting something.", said Pyriss.

"I'm hungry," the girl still on the ship whined. "Bring the boy onto the ship and then decide. Being on a still ship is making me sleepy." Heiki noticed the blood on the back of James's head. "It looks like we'll need to fix that head of yours," she said, throwing the half-eaten apple at them like a child. "Hurry."

"You're right..." James said. He nodded at Pyriss. "You're pretty smart." Then he looked down at the boy. "Let's go. We'll get you off this ship." He walked to the edge of the ship with the boy. The boy looked down over the edge of the ship and backed away.

"The jump is to far," he said.

"Fine," James grabbed him and slung him over his shoulder. He backed up and then ran towards the edge, jumping across to his ship. He set the boy down and crossed the ship to Heiki. "Do you have any bandages for this?" he pointed to his injury.

Kagirinai looked over the ship with a sigh of annoyance. He jumped back to the ship and landed without a single noise. He glanced over the boy before looking away. Yawning he headed to the kitchen. he was chewing on a bar of titanium as he headed towards kitchen.

Pyriss jumped to the home ship. She landed gracefully on her feet. She rushed to the edge of the home ship to look at the front of the other ship. She looked at the ship's direction, they were headed away from the island. So she tried to predict where they were last. It would have been more beneficial if their was a blood trail under the ship, the blood would have tainted the water and turned the water red. She could of asked the boy, but he was in the closet of the kitchen the entire time, he was also not a navigator. Pyriss traced the wave pattern and simply switched the ship around in her mind. She now had to keep watch for an island nearby. The closest island might be Camille.

Pyriss went to steer as she yelled, " Captain ready for take off! Heading to Camille island."

Pyriss pulled the steer in the direction her mind was projecting . Waiting for James to release the sails.

Heiki reached into her barrel for some bandages and some medicine. After quickly treating James's wound, she turned to the kid.

"Are you hurt anywhere, boy?" she asked. "Let me see." The girl forced the boy to sit in front of her and check for wounds despite his complaints. His wrist was slightly bruised and it looked like he took a hit in the stomach. She wrapped his wrist with a bandage with some mint leaves to cool the bruise.

Kaori leaped back on the Aurora ship and walked over to help release the sails. He then picked up the discarded newspaper, took a comfy place at the side of the deck, and continued reading.

James worked with Kaori on the sails. When they were finished he crawled to a point behind the sails. He drew Kazeshini. "Might as well cut off some of our time," he thought. He swung Kazeshini and fired a blast of wind into the sails, adding more force then what they were receiving from the wind that they already had. He continued doing this, being careful not to send to much wind into the sails, so that he would not tear them. Soon they were practically flying over the sea at an almost impossible rate for a ship.

"T-thank you," the young boy said, nervously, to Heiki. He backed away to a corner of the ship and sat down by himself.

Pyriss walked over to James to feel a sudden burst. The gust was very vast and uncontrollable. The ship was moving at a much faster rate. Pyriss knew once she arrived on the island that conflict was going to erupt. Pyriss took out her loyal shadow claw attaching it to her hand. She had not swung the claw in over a month. It would be very beneficial for her to use it now. Pyriss smiled as she had seen something ahead. Taking out her binoculars she identified it to be an island. Most definitely Camille island. The island of the people who slaughtered the people closest to the boy who sat in the corner.

It seemed like the ship was getting closer to the island. Heiki pulled out a a large coat from the barrel. Her barrel was like a magic hat. She could pull out anything she wanted or needed... within limits of course.

She stuffed the pockets of the coat with some medicine and boxes full of injections. Heiki also stuffed some packaged dango she had saved into another pocket. Putting her coat over her shorts and tank top, she also pulled out a large sword wrapped in leather from her barrel. The girl strapped the large weapon to her back using a strap and readjusted her scarf.

Maybe she was "over-dressed," but she larged it better that way. The summer sun felt cool to the girl.

Kagirinai stepped out of the kitchen having eaten a number of metals. if they were going into battle if their was a chance of a fight he needed to be prepared so he had consumed as much metals as he could during the time they had taken to get to the island. he wouldn't let anything surprise him. He folded his arms as he noticed the island coming into view. His eyes narrowed as he looked around the crew it seems they were getting ready as well. He slowly shut his eyes as his hands moved to his tonfa.

(Alright then. Our first real fight with our new crew members in tow. Let's go.)

James took up his usual position near the front of the ship. He folded his arms across his chest and waited as they neared the island. He heard a moan coming from behind him and he looked back to see their passenger looking terrified.

"Sorry we couldn't drop you off somewhere else," James said. "You can take cover in the cabins until this is all over, but I promise you that you will be alright." The boy nodded slightly and ran down below deck. James turned back to face the island, which they had sailed up to. A huge cliff stretched up into the sky in front of them. "Now, how are we supposed to climb that?" James muttered, looking up the cliff, which was fortunate for him as he saw three figures falling down towards him. James drew Kazeshini and pulled back as a large man landed in front of him. The man was holding a massive sword and swung it with all his might at James's head. James managed to bring Kazeshini up just in time to stop the blade from killing him, but the force of the blow sent James flying back. He managed to stop himself, but he was twenty feet back from his opponent. While this was going on, the other two figures had landed. A girl and a boy, who looked just as they had been described. The boy hung back while the girl dropped two knives from her sleeves into her hands and threw them at Pyriss, who was the first person she saw.

Kaori ran between the dagger-girl and Pyriss. "Stay." The daggers bounced back from his robe, back at the girl, but didn't hit her, dropping on the deck. He released his cloak from the power of the fruit and drew his spear. He dropped into a stance with the spear, readying himself for attacks.

Pyriss laughed "Kaori that was a decoy, she could easily appear behind you after throwing two knives, though I'll let you handle her until she loses interest." She wanted to see cautious Kaori in action, she didn't have much of a clear view at the last island a week ago. Though if the woman would appear in front or behind she would be ready. She seemed to use the same counters as herself with throwing knives at the opponent. Which is Pyriss's first action as well. She looked at the light brown headed person, when the boy explained about him earlier she was interested in him.

She asked him, " Why aren't you fighting lazy, what are you the watchdog to these two? I don't believe two against six is really fair, you joining up will even the odds a little more don't ya think!"

The woman was surprised by Kaori's power, but then she grinned. "That's an interesting ability you've got there." She reached back and pulled out four knives from a pouch she had strapped around her waist. Each of these knives was smaller then the two that she had used before. The woman grinned as she threw all four at Kaori. "Let's see you try and stop seastone blades," she thought to herself.

The young boy looked over at Pyriss, but didn't reply. He leaned back against the side of the ship with a bored look on his face.

The large man brought his sword down in an overhead smash. James brought both of his swords around to stop his sword. This time, however, he formed his blades into a cross, caught the opponent's sword on the side, and pushed it away, allowing most of the force of the blow to send the attack past him. James jumped away, pulling back Kazeshini and then thrusting it forward releasing a powerful blast of wind. "Single Sword: Thunder Crash!" The man brought his sword back and held it out in front of him so that the air struck the flat of the blade and was stopped in an instant.

Kaori readied his spear. "Stay" He positioned it in the path of the blades, but was surprised when the spear suddenly detached itself from his power upon being hit with the blades. Seastone?! He managed to divert the blades off with the spear. "Nice try there." Kaori ran at the woman, delivering a thrust at her midsection.

Pyriss looked at the fight between the woman and Kaori and the fight between the the large man and Captain James. Both of them possessed something odd, both had clear dominant defense and offense. Their dominance was displayed in how they attacked and defended. The woman threw knives, projecting them with a large amount of power. The blades were difficult to dodge, due to them being faster than someone putting their hand up. Shockingly, a little too fast. Though Pyriss did not undermine the woman, as she was a bout to display her melee abilities. While the other man, swings his blade incredibly fast, so fast not many people can see it. That also complies to his defense, able to defend himself with picture perfect ease. Those abilities are greater than some Zoan abilities and they were probably apart of their culture. This type of battle was very different from what Pyriss normally sees. It is human nature for Pyriss to observe, but she didn't have to fight at the moment. Though seastone blades could be a problem for Kaori, if he got hit at least once then it would be over. This was forecasting to happen, seeing as Kaori is charging in against the woman, a very unwise move.

Pyriss had to think of something fast, and seeing as her previous hypothesis was that they were trying to protect their turf. Pyriss attempted to jump on the island from the ship. Running to the edge of the ship, she was about to enter the unorthodox island. She had a knife in her right hand and her infamous claw on her left.

The woman saw the attack coming and she drew out two knives from the pouch on her back. One was seastone the other was a regular blade. She blocked the spear thrust with her regular knife, knocking it aside, and then she dove forward past the spear tip and thrust her seastone knife at Kaori's chest.

The boy spotted Pyriss running to the front of the ship and leaping out at the island. He was initially surprised, but then he smirked. What was the girl thinking? Even if she got onto the cliff there was no way she could find the secret tunnel. She could climb to the top of the cliff, but that would take a while and he could pick her off the wall at any moment. Then there were all the others who were on the other side of the cliff. No, he would let her go on. Only death awaited her.

The enemy battered away at James's defenses. James could barely hold up against the barrage, but he knew that if he were to slow down he would be killed. Then he got an idea. A giant sword like that was good if it stayed in motion, but if it was stopped then it was only dead weight.

"I have to stop this!" James thought. "It would be easy if I released Kazeshini's power, but that would make me vulnerable later if we fought again. I'll have to stop it with my own power."

James redirected another swing of the giant sword and then moved forward, swinging both of his swords at the man's head. The man brought up his giant sword and stopped James's weapons. Undaunted, James pressed down with Crimson Rain and then swung Kazeshini back at his side. The man froze.

"You understand, don't you?" James said. "If you move your sword, Crimson Rain will kill you. If you stay there, Kazeshini will kill you. Now what are you going to do?" He grinned. Victory was within his grasp!

The man didn't say anything. Instead, he removed one hand from the sword, which wavered, but held in place. His free hand reached down and pulled out a short sword, which he thrust at James. James blocked it with Kazeshini and once more they were at a standoff.

Kaori knew he was disadvantaged here. His power was nearly useless in this fight. He couldn't rely on his power. He shifted to the left to avoid the seastone blade and knocked at her face with the back end of the spear.

Pyriss was a little terrified, she was attempting to land on a certain point. Pyriss's plan was to be only 22 ft from the ground, if she fell she might be injured if her fall was indirect, but still survive. Pyriss stabbed her claw into the rock, like someone stabbing their pen into wax. She placed one foot on the cliff, a little unbalanced at first, and her second foot hurriedly followed. She looked very unbalanced if anyone saw her, but she was on the cliff, non the less. She wanted to land on the cliff, not to climb into the land, but to find out what these peoples objectives was. " Hmm, I assume your job was to stop people from getting into your island, well I'm on your land. I wonder are you gonna do something about it."
Pyriss yelled.

Pyriss put her right hand forward, pointing her knife. She then thought something very unusual at that moment, her face turned into a stare of uncertainty. She had seen that three people came on the ship. Though she wondered, why three people were trusted to annihilate a crew and no more than three? Why not four or five? Do they trust three people to kill an entire crew, or to weaken the crew...Or to spread a warning.

She looked at the light haired brown boy and yelled, " You know something I Do not know. That makes me feel ignorant, why are there only three of you? Its like you don't expect to win. Why would a island or kingdom send the same three people to stop any outside forces from invading. Wouldn't they send an army or a battalion, or simply just eradicate us with a powerful beam. That doesn't make an ounce of sense, even if you were expert assassins, defeating every crew sounds unlikely. What is your real motive here?"

Kagirinai finally decided to stop sitting on the side lines. he gripped his tonfa and drew them. The bladed weapons glistened in the light. Kagirinai shot forward racing up the cliff and leapt into the air. he landed on the ground and looked at the fights wondering which to join he twirled his weapons. He crouched and shot towards Pyriis. he stood beside her with a bored expression, "I doubt he's just going to up and tell you his motives. The only way you'll find them is if you investigate yourself. Find out what he's protecting i'll stall him." He twirled the bladed tonfa making a swishing sound in the air.
