Serious: The Aurora Pirates Part 4: An Island Within an Island

As the earth rose up, Kaori jumped. "Stay!" He was diagonally in the air, and struck down at the stone coming up to meet him. "Stay!" The spear stood, and the stone could not push it away. It didn't matter. It started rising around the spear, and Kaori pulled it away, swinging the spear upwards. He released his robe from the fruit's power and locked the spear in place, swinging upwards over the spear. He grabbed it as he flew over it, releasing the spear and locking his robe. He started walking upwards. He didn't have time to take his companions with him, and it would've been hard. He looked down, finally out of the reach of the stone. There was a hole, his captain had fallen in. Should he go?

Suddenly, the ground opened up, swallowing Heiki underground. She saw James fall in as well, trying to soften the impact with the ground. The girl pulled out her sword and dug it into the wall of the hole, letting the gravity to pull her down while dragging the sword in the dirt to lessen the blow.

It was working, but at the las moment, the wall disappeared, and Heiki fell on her bottom. "Ow..." she stood up to see if there was anyone else with her and the captain.

((O.O Wow. Lots of posts...am I in a different time zone than everyone else? O,O))

Aya's eyes widened slightly when the ground practically swallowed her in, but cursed and reacted anyways; jumping lithely from wall to wall on her fall down, she managed to land on her feet when she finally did reach the ground.

She got up, dusted her clothes off, and straightened her shoulders. She found James not a moment later, and immediately darted to his side, both hands on her guns.

(sorry guys I have school and stuff I have to post at 6 and later from now on)

Pyriss was surprised to see the ground open up below her feet. She foreseen walls around her extending from nowhere. She felt as if she was standing at the death's door. Suddenly, Pyriss extended her arms to the wall that she miraculously found as she was descending at a high rate. She quickly stabbed her knife and claw in the wall gripping her feet on the wall, to slow down the descent. Her toes reached the wall first as she exerted her muscles to stick her ankle on the wall. The pain of her muscles being stretched was not how she wanted to do things, but she was not like Kaori who was still above her, she did not have devil fruit or superhuman abilities. Still her shoes were sliding at a high rate, but slowing down. She was 5 feet from the ground at the end of it. She jumped down to the ground. During this descent she seen the new girl jumping from wall to wall, something not even the captain can perform, what a feat. She had seen the captain and Heiki on the ground. Anxious, she assumed that the earth girl performed this feat, she started to get a little frustrated at what was happening here.

Jaake looked up to where the sy should be and laughed, the echo loud enough to make Henry cover his ears.
"Well, look at that! I had no clue me hitting you on the shoulder could make underground tunnels! Isn't this exciting?"
Henry didn't answer, he still had his ears covered.

Once the tunnel had opened up, Jake had grabbed Henry in a reflex and had held him close to him to save him from impacting with the ground in what could have been romantic hadn't it been for them falling down a very deep hole.
He had landed on his feet, and was so surprised he hadn't got hurt that he hadn't paid attention to the walll closing the hole over him.
Only once he had hit his head on it did he recognize its existence.

He set Henry down and petted him on the head.
"Daw, it's okay. If any monsters pass our way, we'll simply kick their asses. Now let's go explore."
He still had to drag him to get him to move, but that was easy.

(That's alright, Ugitzu. We all will be at school, sooner or later.)

James didn't bother looking back, otherwise he would have noticed all of the people who had ended coming down into the tunnel with him. He just kept on walking. Soon, James saw the tunnel opening up. He headed towards it and soon found that the place branched off into three different tunnels.

James frowned. Then he shrugged. He headed off down the middle route.

(I'm going to pre-plan what's at the end of each tunnel so take your pick. Or follow James. Whatever.)

((I'll just go down the tunnel where the least people go. xp))

Pyriss looked back as she realized that the captain was gone! Pyriss ran to try to find him. Though unintentionally, she went into the route left from James. Pyriss looked into the tunnel. She smiled trying to find her captain. Running, she left traces of steps echoing around the halls of the tunnel. She forgot about Heiki and the others, but didn't mind, she was used to doing things on her own accord.

Heiki watched as the captain went through the middle and Pyriss went through the left tunnel. "That means I should go right, huh?" she laughed, taking her time walking to the tunnel to the right.

(I was actually hoping you two would have picked the tunnels the other way around. As it is, Heiki is going to have an easy fight and Pyriss should be able to clear her's up with only some difficulty.)

A moment later after both Heiki and Pyriss went into their respective tunnels, they triggered a trap, which had set for intruders, and several explosives went off knocked down boulders over the tunnel entrances they had just gone through, trapping them inside.

Ugitzu

In Pyriss's tunnel, wires shot all across the pathway, covering sixty feet worth of the tunnel. A woman laughed.

"Welcome to my territory," she said. It was the woman who used knives and attacked the Aurora pirate ship upon its arrival to the island.

In Heiki's tunnel the tall man, who had attacked the ship appeared. He unslung his giant sword from his back. Instead of speaking, he merely nodded to Heiki and then charged, swinging his sword at her throat.

James continued on his path without much trouble, but then a young man appeared. He was the third member of the group who had assaulted the ship. He stared at James dispassionately. Then he calmly drew out two pistols and opened fire on the pirate captain.

Frog Dragon

A man walked up in front of Kaori. He was bare chested and his upper body was covered in tattoos. There were chain tattoos on his arms and a couple of swords, maces, and shields on his chest.

"Hey!" he raised his hand. "I know it's annoying, but we kinda have to fight. Something about preserving peace on the island. I think its just an excuse to get me to get some exercise."

The woman who manipulates earth, appeared out of the wall beside Jake. She had formed a massive stone glove around her arm and she punched it at Jake's head.

((what happened to coffeelatte? lol))

The tall man who had attacked the ship earlier was standing in front of her. For a moment, Heiki was disappointed that it wasn't the other man, but then grinned, thinking that it didn't matter. Either way, it would have been the same fight. He pulled out his large sword and charged at her.

Heiki didn't pull out her sword, but instead, she tapped her scarf Karasu awake. She had seen this man fight before and the different in their strength was obvious. If she just used her sword, he would be able to crush her. 'I'll use my speed to my advantage, then.'

She jumped out of the way of his attack. "Is it time?" Karasu laughed, excited by the thought of slashing at someone.

"You're so violent," Heiki shook her head disapprovingly. She ran behind the attacker and had Karasu use his stinger to strike the man as many times as he could. "Just three scratches," she muttered to herself.

((GAH! People post whenever I'm gone! >))

Aya continued to stare down the three tunnels; she was sure her Captain could handle himself. The other woman to the right seemed strong enough, too-

Boom!

A large crash erupted from all three tunnels, and Aya raised a brow.

Screw that. She didn't join the crew to spread goodness and help around, she joined it for James's sake. With a slight scowl, Aya bounded inside the middle tunnel, darting after James. Aya wrinkled her nose in distaste a moment later; the scent of gun powder...?

When she finally came to a stop, she found her captain and another man engaged in battle; the opponent held two guns in his hands as well. Aya rolled her eyes. It was such a pain battling another person with a range tactic, she cursed.

But all traces of emotion vanished a moment later, and in a blink of an eye, Aya sent four shots flying towards the man, with deadly aim, targeting his head, torso, and arms.

That was all the reaction Jake could handle before he was hit with full force.
God, that hurt.
He stared at his opponent for a while, then he let go of Henry.
"You wanted this, right? Henry, go find some place to hide! This might get rough..."
First, he needed to see what that woman could do.
He aimed at her face with a kick.

Kaori was still in the air, about 4 meters up. "Can you even reach me?" Kaori questioned, looking down at the man. He was literally standing on top of his boots. His spear was still in hand. He kept applying his power to his boots to keep himself firmly in the air, as steady as if he were treading on solid rock.

The large man followed Heiki with his eyes as she moved around him. He twisted around just in time to see the scarf around Heiki's neck about to jab him with a stinger. He jumped back, alarmed by the scarf's apparent sentience and he swung his sword at the stinger, trying to cut it off.

(Hang on! I said that there were explosives that blew up the entrances to the tunnels that Ugitzu and Heiki went through and on your post you said that Aya heard the explosion, but then she followed Ugitzu to go and help her. Unless your character can phase through solid rock this would be impossible. The only tunnel still open is James's tunnel and there's a reason for that.)

The woman brought up her rock covered arm to block, but the force of the kick sent her back into the wall behind her. She grunted in pain and reached back to touch the wall, as if she was trying to steady herself, but when her skin connected with earth, twin rock spikes shot out of the wall aiming to impale Jake.

Frog Dragon

"Good question!" the man said cheerfully. He swung his hands up and ten needles were sent flying up at Kaori, each aiming for a different spot. Two were going at each of Kaori's eyes, two were aimed at his chest, two were aimed at each of his his legs, two were aimed at each of his arms, and two were aimed at his neck.

James saw the pistols coming up to bear and he swung Kazeshini. "Single Sword Style: Storm Tunnel!" A blast of wind caught the bullets just as they were fired and pushed them away as well as knocking the young man back. James used soru and shot forward, reappearing right in front of the boy. He swung his swords at the boy's chest. The boy jumped at the last moment and twirled over James's head, firing down at him, but James had already dashed forward and sent another blast of wind at his opponent, knocking the boy down.

"Woah, woah!"
Jake ducked under the spikes, which missed him.
"That's unfair, you're in your element!"
Also, the tunnel was too small to even jump. He'd just hit his head. And still, he had to keep that woman away from the wall somehow...
He grinned sheepishly. That was impossible.
Since he was already kneeling, he decided to go with a sweep kick.
If it hit the womans legs, the at least she'd lose balance, even if it wouldn't break her legs ( Which was highly possible, seeing as she used the earth for protection).

((Gahs. Do you want me to edit my post so that Aya tries to break through the rock, or go after James?))

((He probably wants you to go after James :] ))

Heiki saw his alarmed face and grinned. "Oho, did that surprise you?" she joked. Deciding to surprise him more, the girl had Karasu attack the man with the other end of the scarf, revealing a frightening face with one one and mouth. Karasu tried to lick the man with his tongue.

(Um...well, you can decide that for yourself. I will tell you this: I was intending you to fight the guy that James is fighting now. However, if you have a way to break through the rock then you can do that. I'm interested in learning how you would do that with four pistols. Whatever you decide to do, I have another enemy I'm going to have James duel. If he has to defeat the guy he is fighting now, then he'll just have to beat two people in a row.)

((I can defeat this guy and magically teleport to you and defeat him and break the tunnel down and then die haha jk... sorry I'm bored xD))

Pyriss looked around. Sixty foot wires across the entire tunnel. She looked ahead of her to see the blond woman from earlier. The blond woman who fought Kaori earlier. This woman used knives, and she was very powerful. Also there was no where to dodge, the tunnel was much too small to avoid anything big or horrendous. Anything fast or small was also pretty difficult to dodge. Pyriss looked at her claw, the leather was pretty durable, the knives as powerful as any metal. She observed the wire, it looked terrifying, and it looked acute like the thorns of a rose. Though this woman did not realize, Pyriss also threw knives. She used a style, unknown to the world, only her and Lucy knows how to use it proficiently. This blond woman also seems to know how to use it.

Pyriss smiled,"Your territory, an enclosed space for mid range attacks to always hit. Also no way for escape unless you defeat your opponent, how nice. Though, i'm a professional thief or used to be anyways, I always seem to be in these predicaments. For example, at a marine headquarters to the south, I faced 40 men. Though that is nothing, compared to what you can do, killing an entire ship, with only two other people. Though I'm prepared to bleed, I have bled before. I can also tell you, I'm getting out of here alive and well."

Pyriss grinned, her foot still felt numb, but that wouldn't affect her all that much. This wasn't a race and the enclosed space meant less movement. Pryiss drew her knife from her pocket. She released the knife from the small sheathe. She extended her left hand back with her knife in hand. She pushed her right hand forward with her claw in hand. She stretched her legs in the Hung Gar position, she was ready for anything.

Kaori released his boots, falling down and causing the needles to miss. He landed deftly, having been only 4 meters up, and regarded his foe. He had his spear on hand. "I see you can challenge me then." Kaori admitted, and engaged. He ran towards his opponent, thrusting at his midsection with the spear.

((Oh...alright. I edited it. ;p))

(Man! These posts are really long! Kinda fun though, thinking up ways to fight so many at once.)

The sweeping kick caught the woman's legs and she fell to the side, but then she rolled with her fall and popped back up with one end of the tunnel to her back. She placed a hand on the ground and a wave of earth rushed towards Jake. She stumbled back after this and had to sit down. Using all this power was wearing her out. She didn't know why, but her devil fruit had always worn her out. Now she wanted nothing more then to go sleep in the earth again, but she had to deal with this intruder first, and so she pulled herself back up to fight.

One last time several explosives went off, blocking Aya from leaving the tunnel once she had entered it.

The young man was distracted by the sound of someone else approaching. He jumped to his feet and turned his back on James, who took this opportunity to slip away from the fight, heading on down the tunnel. When Aya appeared and raised her guns the young man's own weapons shot up. He saw Aya fire and immediately his special eyes took over. He marked the trajectory of each bullet and less then a second later he fired four shots of his own, somehow deflecting Aya's shots with his own.

The large man was now annoyed more then scared. He had realized that this scarf must somehow have the power of a devil fruit. He didn't know that non-sentient objects could do that. Instead of leaping away from Karasu's tongue, he merely swung his large sword at the tongue, to try and slice it off. If the tongue did continue to try and lick him, he would hit it with no trouble at all. As he did this with one arm, he drew out a regular katana from a hidden sheath at his side. It was obvious to him that he would need speed rather then strength to have any chance at winning this fight.

Ugitzu

The woman nodded. "You're pretty perceptive. You'd probably make a good tactical officer. However, there is more to this space then you realize." She grinned. The wires were made of wootz steel, with a little seastone mixed in for devil fruit users, and so she didn't have to worry about an opponent cutting them with a small blade like the one her current opponent was holding. This wire net was her pride and joy. This tunnel had built specifically for the purpose of these weapons. The idea was that there were hundreds of points she could use from her end to throw small weapons at her opponents no matter where they stood, but there was a single point for her to stand where she could be safe while wearing her opponents down. There was only one way to attack her and no one had ever had the skill or brains to use it.

It was unfortunate that she hadn't seen this particular opponent fight in their last battle and so she knew very little of her abilities. She would have to take this slow and analyze her opponent carefully. She pulled out several knives of her own. Now was the time to strike. She ducked to the side and with pinpoint accuracy threw a knife through a tiny hole in the net, aiming it for Pyriss's right leg. Then she ducked to another point of the net and threw another knife through a small hole at Pyriss's forehead. One last time she moved to another point of the net and threw a knife which was aimed at Pyriss's gut. Then she ducked back to her safe spot to hide.

Frog Dragon

The man jumped back when Kaori thrust his spear at him and the chain tattoo on the man's arm suddenly jumped off of his arm, becoming a physical chain. He hooked the chain around the spear and, holding both ends of the chain in his left hand, he swung his left arm out pulling the spear to the side. Despite the speed at which he preformed this maneuver, the spear still managed to graze his side. He did not let this slow him down. Instead he caught the spear with his left arm and trapped it at his side, holding it to himself arm. Meanwhile, one of the tattoos of the maces on his chest came to life and he caught the weapon in his right hand. He swung it at the Kaori's head, intending to finish him off in one strike.

With Aya distracting his opponent, James continued on his way, racing through the tunnels. He was tempted to go back and help his friends, but then he reminded himself that they would be fine. For now he just needed to find out what was so important about this place. He realize that the tunnel was getting brighter as he went and he sped up. He decided that he must be reaching his goal.

"Oh shi-"
Jake was caught by the wave and landed on his back.
"Ooouch!" He held one hand to his lower back and sat up. He could have jumped over that wave... But this tunnel was too small!
He dragged himself to his feet and growled.
"Look, why do you insist on fighting me? I mean, I only climbed up some cliffs and all of a sudden I fell into your hole or whatever that was! You didn't even introduce yourself yet! And I really hate fighting women!"
He dashed forward, aiming for a simple punch in the guts.
