My opinion is that Doflamingo resides in Corazon's former body. Now, for what reasons I dunno, yet, but if it's the case, we are surely going to find out why.

I think the answer has already been given. The interesting fact is that Oda planned Rosinante being a marine before film Z. You can see him in the picture with all the marines:
