Technique list name: Life Return - Muscle Manipulation


Overview: Life return is the art of allowing one to control their own body beyond the normal limits.  This branch of life return allows the user to manipulate their muscle.  While many things in the human body are technically considered muscle, this branch specifically focuses on what would be considered the exterior muscle such as those on the arms, legs, pectorals, and so on.  


User: Iken Namikaze


History: As someone that has been physically adroit his entire life, Iken was able to connect with his body in a way that few others can.  His strong connection with his body and ability to push it to and beyond its limits due to the many life and death circumstances he and his fellow crewmates have had to survive put Iken on the path to obtaining such ability.  In a situation where Iken once again found himself risking life and limb for those he cared about, Iken unleashed a new found ability that had been destined to awaken in him by event that began to unfold years before hand.  With his new found ability Iken surged forth into battle to try and overcome his foes.  

Techniques:


-Level Fourteen-

Name: King of Fire

Type: Life Return

Description: The user forcefully increases the density and mass of their muscle.  This results in a one turn boost to strength, the turn of activation.  The amount of strength the user is boosted by is determined by the amount of calories burned.  500 calories translates into 10% in the strength stat.  The technique can increase the user’s strength by a maximum of 50%, thereby sacrificing 2500 calories in one turn.  While all of the boosts are strenuous on the user's body, the 50% boost is especially so.  

Effect: The user gains a boost to their strength in the amount of 10% all of the way up to 50%.  A visible increase in muscle mass is seen in all forms of the technique, however the amount varies depending on the level the user takes it to.  10% would be a slight increase while 50% would be a noticeable increase.  The strain from the top level increases has the side effect of turning the user's skin a shade of red due to the strain.  

Stat Requirements: N/A


Name: King of Lightning

Type: Life Return

Description: The user forcefully increases the density and tone of their muscle.  This results in a one turn boost to speed, the turn of activation.  The amount of speed the user is boosted by is determined by the amount of calories burned.  500 calories translates into 10% in the speed stat.  The technique can increase the users speed by a maximum of 50%, thereby sacrificing 2500 calories in one turn.  While all of the boosts are strenuous on the user's body, the 50% boost is especially so.  

Effect: The user gains a boost to their speed in the amount of 10% all of the way up to 50%.  A visible increase in muscle tone is seen in all forms of the technique, however the amount varies depending on the level the user takes it to.  10% would be a slight increase while 50% would be a noticeable increase.  The strain from the top level increases has the side effect of turning the user's skin a shade of red due to the strain.

Name: King of Steel

Type: Life Return

Description: The user forcefully increases the density and durability of their muscle.  This results in an indirect one turn boost to endurance, the turn of activation.  The amount of durability the user is boosted by is determined by the amount of calories burned.  500 calories translates into 10% in of durability according to the endurance stat.  The technique can increase the user’s durability-endurance by a maximum of 50%, thereby sacrificing 2500 calories in one turn.  While all of the boosts are strenuous on the user's body, the 50% boost is especially so.  

Effect: The user gains a boost to their durability in the amount of 10% all of the way up to 50%.  The strain from the top level increases has the side effect of turning the user's skin a shade of red due to the strain.

Stat Requirements: N/A


Name: King of Water

Type: Life Return

Description: The user forcefully decreases the density and mass of their muscle.  This results in a one turn boost to agility, the turn of activation.  The amount of agility the user is boosted by is determined by the amount of calories burned.  500 calories translates into 10% in the of agility stat.  The technique can increase the user’s agility by a maximum of 50%, thereby sacrificing 2500 calories in one turn.  While all of the boosts are strenuous on the user's body, the 50% boost is especially so.  

Effect: The user gains a boost to their agility in the amount of 10% all of the way up to 50%.  A visible decrease in muscle mass is seen in all forms of the technique, however the amount varies depending on the level the user takes it to.  10% would be a slight decrease while 50% would be a noticeable decrease.  The strain from the top level increases has the side effect of turning the user's skin a shade of red due to the strain.

Stat Requirements: N/A


Name: Body of the King

Type: Life Return

Description: Allows the user to combine and use two or more of his other life return techniques at once.  In exchange for the ability to use more than one technique at a time the user is charged 200 calories on top of the cost of the calorie cost for other techniques.  

Effect: The user can use two or more life return techniques at the same time for 200 calories.  Its duration is the same as the lowest duration of the combined techniques.  

Stat Requirements: N/A



-Level Fifteen-

Name: King of Greed

Type: Life Return

Description:  The user braces their body, by loosening their muscles before a hit and then hardening them after.  In the softened state any object causing physical damage sinks into the muscle that had been hit.  After the blow connects the user hardens the muscle.  

Effect:  The users effectively catches and then traps any object from any physical blow.  For the trap to be effective, the user must activate the technique the post prior to the post the attack occurs in.  Once activated the technique catches and latches onto the object, so long as the users defense is higher than the stat used in the attack.  The amount of time the object is stuck in the user is equal to one (1) post per 10% of the user’s endurance.  If the stats for endurance and attack are equal, the object is stuck for one (1) post only.  Costs 50 calories to activate and 100 calories per post to sustain.  

Stat Requirements: Endurance #% greater than or equal to the attacking #%, 10% endurance minimum.


Name: King of Time

Type: Life Return

Description: The user taps into their hidden potential by calling up all of the times he has trained and moved a certain way. By exploiting the small stretches and ware on the user's muscle from going through the movements of training and actual battle, the user is able to recreate said actions with easier.  This results in a one turn boost to skill, the turn of activation.  The amount of skill the user is boosted by is determined by the amount of calories burned.  500 calories translates into 10% in the of skill stat.  The technique can increase the user’s skill by a maximum of 50%, thereby sacrificing 2500 calories in one turn.  While all of the boosts are strenuous on the user's body, the 50% boost is especially so.  The result of the 50% boost takes away 10% of the user's endurance for the rest of the thread.

Effect: The user gains a boost to their skill in the amount of 10% all of the way up to 50%.  No visible change in muscle mass is seen in any forms of the technique.  The strain from the top level increases has the side effect of turning the user's skin a shade of red due to the strain.

-Level Sixteen-

Name: Efficent King

Type: Life Return

Description:  The user makes the process in which their muscles use oxygen more efficient.  Muscles use less oxygen and can do more with the same amount of oxygen.  This technique is especially useful when in high altitudes as it cancels out any adverse effect that the environment would have on the user.  

Effect: The user gains anywhere from 10% to 50% in the endurance stat for one turn.  This does not increase durability but rather allows the user to go longer and harder without getting tired.  The user also gains immunity to environmental factors that would reduce endurance.  Costs 500 calories per 10% of endurance that the technique boosts.  The passive ability to cancel out environmental factors costs 50 calories per turn.

Name: Hard King

Type: Life Return

Description:  The user hardens their muscles to allow them to take increased damage.  By hardening the muscles around important areas the user protects vital areas reducing overall damage as if the user was wearing wooden armor -30% in damage.  The user can go one stage up when combining this technique with another that hardens muscles.  

Effect:  The user take -30% damage when attacked while this effect is active.  When this technique is combined with another similar technique the more powerful technique is automatically upgraded one stage.  For example, regular tekkai would be as hard as steel rather than iron.    

Stat Requirements: 30% endurance



-Level Seventeen-

Name: King's Armor

Type: Life Return

Description:  The user uses his muscles to wrap and brace broken, fractured, or even severed bones.  Using the muscled that is wrapped around the bone the user forces his body to work even when it's broken.  

Effect:  When this technique is active any limb that was rendered useless from excessive damage can be forced to work again.  This technique negates the 1/5th damage rule on limbs by forcing the bones back in place by wrapping the muscle around it like a maneuverable cast or splint.  The technique can also be used to keep the user's insides from spilling out if they had been sliced asunder by tightening and growing the muscle tissue around the affected area.  Uses 200 calories per activation.  

Stat Requirements: 30% endurance and 20% tactical intelligence.



-Level Eighteen-

Name: Balloon King

Type: Life Return

Description: The user bites a hole in their thumb and blows air into their muscles to create a slight inflation.  With the muscles inflated the user is able to reduce the damage from pressure wave like and blunt force techniques.  The air makes the users slightly more buoyant thus slightly increasing speed and agility in water.  

Effect: -10% damage from blunt or concussion injuries.  +10% agility and speed in water.   The technique uses 300 calories per round of use.  +1 turns per round per 10% endurance.        

Stat Requirements: 20% tactical intelligence #% endurance.

King of Greed has two problems:

one, if you're talking physics you'd want the impact itself to be on hardened body and then to give to the weakeer carry-through, not the other way around. They way listed in the event of say a sword strike would in fact make the body easier to cut.
Secondly, you're turning it into a better tekkai. You can't do that yet. Tekkai requires 101% endurance, but it is broken all the time. This implies it has. 20% or reduction. Not only does your technique do it better, it is easier to use as it only requires normal endurance. If you want it approved, it needs to be worse than tekkai.

As for king of time, there is no explaination as to how the effect takes place. While virutually any ability can be life return, it must be one that is related to the physical body in some shape form or fashion and we need to know what that connection is.

This technique isn't anything like tekkai. Tekkai is a defensive technique, which reduces damage while this, is set up for a counter that if anything would slightly increase damage. The process of the technique softens the muscle so the attack can go deeper, thus making it harder to remove once the muscles around it harden. If you like I can add a slight damage increase when the technique is used successfully.

I related the King of Time to the muscle branch.
