| -Simple Information-Name: Hal Orzhan Also known as: Black Dog Age: 19 Species: Human Gender: Male Loyalty: Marine Affiliation: World Government/Marines Occupation: Helmsman Marine Rank: Apprentice Bounty: 0* Specialty: Hand-to-hand Devil Fruit combat. Goals:-To rise through the ranks of the marines and become the Fleet Admiral. -See the pirates diminished to a point where they are no longer a threat. Funds: 2,500* Level: 1^ Posts till next level: 0/15* -Appearance information-Physical appearance: Body: Hal has a fairly lean build. While not being extremely broad, Hal still has a fair amount of muscle mass on him. Hal is roughly 6 foot and 7 inches (Or 2 metres) and weighs roughly 231 lb (Or 104.8 kg). Hal has a slightly tanned complexion, not being a cream colour but only being so tanned that you can see he was originally Caucasian before he decided to lie in the sun. Face: Hal has an extremely square face with his cheek bones and jaw and ninety degree to one another. The jawline itself is rather firm and comes together in a double-cleft chin. The bridge of Hal's nose is rather narrow but ends in a button nose. He also has rather thick, blood-filled lips, ending at narrow points on either end. Both of Hal's eyes have large yellow irises due to the power of a Devil Fruit that he had eaten during adolescence. Hair: Hal has short straight hair, though becomes wavier the further away it gets from the growth point. The back of his head has hair growing from the bottom of his ears, down to shoulder length at the spine and back up to the bottom of his ear. Hal has a dark auburn hair colour on the top of his head, but the hair becomes lighter as it goes along it's length. As well as this, Hal has a tuft of dark auburn hair growing on his chin. Non visual information: Hal generally speaks in a Bass tone, though, if pushed to, he can speak in a Tenor. Though this is true, speaking in a Tenor for long tends to strain Hal's voice causing his usual tone to become even deeper and rougher than usual. While having no particular odour about him, if Hal's hair becomes wet, it generally gives off the odour of wet dog. Extra features: Hal doesn't have anything out of the ordinary apart from one or two things. The first would be the large scar going from his left cheek bone, clipping the edge of his mouth and ending on the right side of his chin. The second of these odd bodily features is the tattoo of a Dog's Skull on his right shoulder blade. Clothing: The most common outfit that is seen on Hal recently is his Marine gear. This a white cotton uniform with a blue trim on the shirt. The word Marine, along with the Marine logo, are displayed on the back of the shirt. The trousers are a navy blue colour throughout and Hal wears them with black boots that go halfway up his shin. Hal is also often seen wearing the standard Marine cap with his uniform. Along with the marine uniform, Hal is also seen wearing two other common outfits. The first is from his days as a leader of a gang. Hal wears a black leather jacket with no shirt underneath. The jacket is often open, leaving Hal's front exposed. On the back of the jacket is an image of a dog's skull. Underneath the skull is the word, in fairly large writing, "Hellhound". With this, Hal wears denim trousers along with the same black boots he wears along with his marine uniform. The second common outfit is a pinstripe suit. This a simple yet fine black suit top and black suit trousers, both with white pinstripes going down them. Underneath the top, Hal wears a plain white top and black tie. Fine leather shoes are worn along with the suit. Along with this a long, knee-length, black woollen jacket is worn. -Personality information-Personality Overview: Hal, while putting on an air that he doesn't care about people, generally cares a lot for the well being of his friends, family and even strangers. As such, Hal has a code of honour with people he has never fought before. That is, if they repent against what they've done, Hal won't harm them. This is only true to people who don't attack him first. Hal can be extremely violent and bloodthirsty against those he is fighting. Suddenly, the personality of a happy-go-lucky, aloof man disappears and is replaced by a bloodthirsty, merciless warlord. Hal generally is an optimistic sort of person, believing that there is a nice and loving person inside everyone. Likes, Dislikes, Hopes and Fears: Hal has a great love for loyalty and trust. This doesn't necessarily mean just towards him. Hal enjoys putting trust into someone, letting that person know that someone trusts them. It is Hal's greatest hope and dream that he can become powerful enough to protect all that he holds dear, including every innocent in the world, and to see all evil perished. On the other side, it is Hal's greatest fear that he will be too weak to protect people and that everything around him crumbles to dust. -History information-** Early Childhood- Spoiler:
It was a damp, yet mildly sunny afternoon on an island within the East Blue. A new child had been born this day. A bright, blue-eyed child that will grow up with aspirations of saving the world. The child grew up fairly quickly and had, what could be considered, a normal young childhood. Learning to speak. Learning to walk. Hal quickly made a childhood friend in the neighbour's child; Chitan. Hal and Chitan enjoyed spending time with each other. They would often go to each other's houses. As they grew older, Hal had a brilliant and fun idea. To explore the forest on the edge of the village. The Forest's Edge- Spoiler:
Hal and Chitan slowly walked towards the forest. Hal seemed confident and didn't falter in a single, albeit small, stride towards this adventure. Chitan, on the other hand, didn't seem too confident. He walked behind Hal, a pale look over his face. Hal looked back at Chitan and gave him an idiotic smile. After a few minutes of walking, the pair stood at the edge of the forest, Chitan uttering some concern; "This is far enough. Mummy won't like me being here." Hal laughed for a brief second before turning to Chitan to speak: "Your mummy will hug you for being brave. Why say no to a hug?" With that, Hal walked into the forest. Chitan, without thinking, quickly ran with Hal into the forest. Blegh- Spoiler:
Hal continued to walk forward, looking around at the trees and foliage. Chitan walked behind him, keeping his arms close to himself. He was also looking around the forest, but not at the beauty that is nature. No, he was looking at the opposite side of nature. Danger. Chitan was looking around for anything dangerous. Like tigers, or bears, or wolves. Chitan turned his head towards Hal. Or, at least, where Hal should be. Frantically searching, Chitan found Hal climbing a tree; "Hal! What are you doing?!" Hal, stopping for a moment, looked at Chitan with a look that seemed like he thought Chitan was an idiot. Hal pointed at the large black fruit above him. The fruit seemed to be somewhat translucent: "I'm going to get the fruit. Duh." "But it could be pu-poisonous." Hal would shrug and would continue towards the fruit; "Looks fine to me." Continuing on, Hal rested on the large branch that the fruit rested on. Grabbing the fruit with both hands, Hal tries to pull it out with his full strength. The stem suddenly snaps and Hal almost falls off of the branch he's sitting on. Breathing a sigh of relief, Hal looked at the succulent fruit in his hands, eagerly took a bite and swallowed the first bite without hesitation. Hal suddenly dropped the fruit, trying to scrub his tongue with his fingers. "Blegh. Tastes like doodoo." Heading back down, Hal smiled innocently at Chitan. Chitan seems to have gone a pale white, staring at Hal. "See, not poisonous. So, what's the problem?" Chitan seemed to concentrate on Hal's eyes for, what seemed to be, eons. Hal tilted his head to the side, waiting for a reply from his friend. Chitan speaks lowly and softly, his voice shaking with every syllable he utters. "Your eyes are yellow." ***Decade- Spoiler:
Just over a decade had passed since Hal ate the fruit. According to one of the Elders in town, he had eaten what was known as a Devil Fruit. A fruit that bestows great power to the eater at the cost of never swimming again. Hal began to get used to his new power over the course of a few years as a new threat came to the village; Pirates. They started to become a problem for everyone. Always harassing the villagers and doing what ever they felt like. A fire grew within Hal. He began to train himself from his early teenage years. He wasn't particularly strong, fast or even smart, but he had one benefit. His Devil Fruit. It was during one of his training sessions that Chitan found him. Discussing his thoughts with Chitan, Chitan decided, though tentatively, he too would help. They began to train together for the day they could protect the village. Hellhounds- Spoiler:
Pirates. Just another day for this town. The two pirates this time where harassing the general store clerk. Seemed that they where happy with the small amount of belli that they had received. Turning towards the door, a man of 5 feet and 9 inches stood. Short spiky hair proudly came from his head. He wore a shirt underneath his black leather jacket. The black jacket had a dog's skull and the word "Hellhound" underneath it. In his hand, he seemed to be holding a leash with a collar attached. The collar was broken, split in half yet still attached to the leash. The man spoke with a clear air of authority, though slightly wavering; "It may be best for you to return what you stole, if you know what's good for you." The two pirates laughed, hardly believing what they where hearing. This meek person was trying to tell them what to do? The man with the belli in his hand spoke; "And what exactly are you going to do about it?" The man smirked speaking with a clearer voice, no wavering as if he had said this line hundreds of times; "The Hellhounds control this island. You're on our territory. I may have to unleash the Barghest if you-" The man looked at the collar and seemed to have a face of shock and surprise. He lifted the collar and smirked very slightly; "Well, seems the Barghest is already free." Claw marks would begin to appear on the wood flooring. The marks would appear closer and closer to the pirates, who where now blacking away slowly. The marks suddenly stopped appearing. The pirates frantically looked around. Suddenly, a bear-sized black dog would appear behind them. The pirates looked at it and began to back away slowly. The dog roared and the pirates began to sprint for the door, the only exit. A small man was preferable to this dog. Just as they were about to leave, the man at the door slammed the door on their faces. The two pirates fell to the ground, out cold. The dog changed back into his natural form, a 6 foot and 7 inch man. The second man picked up the belli and handed it back to the clerk; "Thank you, Hal." Looking towards the man at the door, the clerk would speak again; "And thank you, Chitan." Hal shrugged, dragging one of the bodies away as Chitan began to drag the other one. "Wasn't here to help you. Like Chitan said, they were on our territory." With that, Hal and Chitan left the store, both with large, idiotic smiles on their faces. White and Blue- Spoiler:
As the pair walked out of the store, a man, barely taller than Chitan, wearing a white outfit with blue trim stood, looking at them. Hal quickly looked towards Chitan. He was the brains of the operation. While Hal had his ability to compensate for his lack of great strength, Chitan had no such ability. However, Chitan could be considered a tactical genius, if a bit cowardly. The man walked forward and looked at the two unconscious men. In the spur of the moment, Hal, turning his left hand/arm into his Hybrid form, would try to claw at the man. The man would dart backwards with ease. Hal would stare at the man as he spoke; "I'm not here to take them. In fact, I was about to go in there myself before you got here. You may call me Rasputin." Hal would continue to scowl at the man. He seemed to recognise the outfit, but where he could not say. It didn't matter. Hal didn't recognise this man, meaning that, most likely, Rasputin was an outsider. Hal looked towards Chitan again, who just nodded in response. "Hal." Hal would suddenly switch fully into his Hybrid form, going invisible. Rasputin in the white uniform would sigh, rubbing his forehead; "Cute. You do realise that I can see you, yes? Other than that...", Rasputin would close his eyes, putting his hand on the sword by his waist, "...there are other ways to tell where you are." Rasputin would draw his sword, slashing at the air next to him. A moment later, Hal would fall to the floor, clearly visible and back to his normal form. His left cheek began to bleed heavily. Rasputin went towards Chitan, sheathing his sword. Grabbing the two unconscious men, Rasputin turned to Hal and spoke, while smiling; "Come find me. I'll be around the island." With that, the man disappeared as if he had just teleported. Hal looked towards Chitan. Chitan's face was extremely pale. They both stayed frozen for a moment before Chitan eventually spoke; "So that's the strength of the Marines..." Explanation- Spoiler:
Walking out of the doctor, stitches in his left cheek, Hal walked back to the place where he met Rasputin. According to Chitan, the man was a marine. He knew this, yet he still allowed Hal to attack. Guess he just wanted to learn how strong the Marines actually were, but he didn't need to use Hal to do so. What if Rasputin killed him? Hal sighed and let the thought left his head. He needed on focusing on this marine. He had questions to ask him. Reaching the point where they met, Hal turned into his full Barghest form. Sniffing about, Hal was trying to get his scent. The scent was here, just weak. Following it at full sprint, Hal ended up in the forest he explored as a child. This time he went deeper into the forest's depths, running and dodging trees. It was here that Hal found a clearing in the trees. Within this clearing stood a small wooden hut. Hal became human once more and walked towards the hut. He had found him. Rasputin was sitting outside on the grass, staring up at the clouds over head. Hal walked over. The man smiled as he faced Hal; "Guess I have a lot of questions coming my way." Farewell- Spoiler:
Hal rubbed his forehead as he left the forest. A small smile was on his face. He knew what to do next with his life. He knew that protecting this one village wasn't enough for him. Now he has direction. Now to break the news to Chitan. Hal's face went sour for a moment. This was going to be hard. Entering the sheriff's building, Chitan was talking to the sheriff. Hal quickly tapped Chitan's shoulder, nodding his head to the door. Chitan would simply nod, heading outside with Hal. Hal would face Chitan and take a deep breath; "I'm leaving to join the Marines." "What?! But what about the village here?" "The village has you. You're smart, you can handle the village. I want to protect the world from those that would seek to exploit or destroy it. Don't you see? The Marines are the same as us. They protect the innocent and who knows, maybe one day I'll come back and ask for you to join me. But for now, please protect the village." A tear came to Chitan's eye as Hal spoke. They had been friends since as long as either of them could remember. They had transcended friendship and had become closer than brothers. Chitan nodded; "Fine. Just be safe. I'll look forward to you raising in the ranks of the Marines. Farewell." Chitan quickly hugged Hal, who returned the hug. Pushing away, Chitan went back into the sheriff's building and Hal went towards the docks on the island. He would rise the ranks of the Marines and learn how to gain access to the ability that Rasputin had. Relationships with other characters: * -Stats-^

| My original idea was that Rasputin visited the island often, as it was home, and had killed the previous owner of the fruit. The power of the fruit then moved to a fruit in a fruit tree (Which I should have explained was a fruit tree). This would have been one of the reasons why Rasputin was interested in Hal in the first place, because he had seen the power before...However, having been thinking that over, I now ask myself the question: Why didn't Rasputin find the fruit? To which, I have no answer as of yet. | |
