Appearance: Benji stands about 5'10 weighing about 170 pounds with a chubby build. He is a slightly overweigh person. Benji has shaggy orange locks that hang over his eyes. There are three eagle featers tangled in his hair. His face is round with puffy red cheeks Benji wears a red jumpsuit with the words "Carpe Diem" written on the back. On his fingers are the brass knuckles he keeps for combat. Benji wears fisherman's boots. Overall his bedraggled erratic fashion reveals his lifestyle deciated to laziness and lack of pride.
History: Benji was born in the North Blue to a fisherman and a maid. Though they made very little money Benji had the necessities including food, water, and clothing. Being ashamed of his humble beginnings, Benji dreamed of a life better than the one he was offered. He would find this opportunity in the navy of the Ritz Kingdom at the age of 16. As a sailor, Benji excelled in combat of fighting foreign invaders and pirates. He was especially known for his resourcefulness and cunning in battle, but was extremely lazy when it came to performing daily chores. Benji was eventually discharged from service. Without a job Benji found himself back at home. He worked with his father as a fisherman for five years until the age of 21.
It was this time when Benji met the Wisp Pirates, a group of pirates who were known to disappear as fast as they attacked, at the market place at the docks. Instead of selling his catch to customers, Benji was taken in by the crew's delicious food as they were feasting, and came aboard to party. Captain Wisp and his crew were too drunk at the time to notice the stowaway, and assumed that he was part of the crew. Benji ate and drank to his heart content forgetting his job. He soon fell asleep as well as the rest of the crew. That afternoon when his father came to market place to find him, the pirates awoke angry that the man interrupted their nap. The pirates attacked him. When Benji came to it was too late, and the pirates had already beaten him up. Benji came to aid his father. Unaware of the circumstance, Benji's father assumed that his son became a pirate due to his get rich quick attitude and general laziness for hard honest work. Benji tried to explain but his father hear none of it. Even if he wasn't responsible for the attack Benji's father saw his son more trouble than he was worth. Benji was banished from home leaving him homeless. They never saw each other again. Wisp apologized for the mix up, and offered Benji a place on his crew promising less work and more pay. Benji took up the offer.
As a pirate Benji enjoyed the fast fortune that came with being a pirate. He made more in a couple of months than he would within a good year of fishing. Wisp was a very easy going captain which fit well with Benji's lax lifestyle. He worked when he wanted, slept when he wanted, and ate like an king. The wisp pirates went to plunder twelve merchant ships. Benji's involvement earned a bounty. Benji was very prideful of his achievement despite it being below the average of the east blue. Then it came a time when Benji wanted to become captain of his crew. Unfortunately Benji lacked conviction and a strong will to command people. His crew often disobeyed him and mocked him openly. The crew mutinied against him in less than month. Benji became a laughing stock of sea losing what little respect and honor he had as a pirate. Heartbroken Benji decided to focus on a new dream. To make the first pirate encyclopedia.
Personality: Benji is a sensitive polite person. At first glance he would be the last person anyone would expect to be a pirate. He is very emotional switching between moods fairly easily. Benji could be happy to the point of blushing from a compliment to crying when insulted. He can also be extremely slothful and gluttonous. His overall demeanor makes him a pushover and easily manipulative. Benji acts easy going and cheerful, but underneath is very disappointed at being a failure as a pirate. His dream was to become a successful captain at one point. The loss of his crew has changed his outlook giving up his dream for another one. Benji can also be a sissy at times to the annoyance of others refusing to do hard labor,and complaining when he does.
