FLASHBACK: Alyss Hart's Initiation thread: Meeting Karasu Ammo (Closed)

Alyss’ trip away from her island was really hard, the storms were terrible and it was scary. But she made it through and that was what mattered the most. She passed by lots of islands but none caught her interest, she was looking for something specific, but she wasn’t sure what that was. The last one she had arrived was called “Sirop Island”, a small island in the grand line that had big trees and well known delicious different flavoured syrups. They had the best pancakes in the world! Thought Alyss, however it was still not what she was looking for.

She was walking down the main street of Sirop Island, wondering what would be of her now, when a woman approached her, she was crying and looking really desperate. “Have you seen my child?!” she asked and Alyss looked around to see if she was talking to her.

Once she was certain that the woman was indeed talking to her she shook her head. “No, I have not” Alyss said and was about to turn away when the woman put her hand on Alyss’ shoulder.

“Please help me, no one is kind enough to lend me a hand and I really need to find my daughter!” the woman explained. Alyss thought about it for a second, and then she decided that since she didn’t really have anything to do, it wouldn’t hurt to help a mother who was looking for her child.

Alyss smiled slightly and nodded. “Okay, I will do it. When was the last time you saw your daughter?” she asked, trying to figure out which places she would have to search. She didn’t know how she would find the places though, because this town was still new to her, so it would be hard to be useful.

The woman explained that the last time she had seen Leah, her daughter, was when she was buying groceries in the main market, a few blocks away. She also described how her daughter looked, and what her age was. Alyss then started to walk and the woman said that her name was Alessa. Alyss reassured her that she would do the most she could to find her daughter and then left.

The market was indeed a few blocks away and it was easy for Alyss to find. She started asking around if anyone had seen Leah, describing her to the stand owners and vendors, and also the passer-by, but no one had seen the little four years old girl. Until finally someone mentioned someone that seemed to look like Leah by the way he described her.

“Oh, yes I think I’ve seen her! She was leaving with these rough looking guys. They looked like trouble… They left to the old warehouse, good luck!” the man said and then walked away. Alyss sighed and hit her head against a wall. If only I knew where the old warehouse was…, she thought as she went to ask the vendors where the old warehouse was.

After finding out the whereabouts of little Leah and the directions to the place, Alyss headed to the warehouse. She pondered whether to knock or sneak in. Well, if they are trouble, then I should sneak in, I wouldn’t want little Leah to be hurt because of me, she thought. Alyss didn’t really know why she was doing such a dangerous thing for someone unknown but she guessed that it was worth it, she would get some action after a long hiatus.

Alyss sneaked in and stayed silent, trying to hear someone move. She heard some movement in the higher floors of the warehouse but she couldn’t hear anything close. She was safe. Alyss took her katana out and heated it up with her fire. She was ready. She started moving and going up the warehouse, trying to find the room where Leah had been captured.

Karasu sat on top of a building with a wanted poster held between his two hands. He looked frustrated. He couldn't for the life of him, find a weak pirate in these parts that he could turn in for a quick meal. He gave the money he earned from the last attack to the island for island purposes, leaving Karasu with nothing. Now he had to find a way to get food without stealing, he had to grab a pirate and turn him in. But it's hard when the wanted posters he owns are from the entire grand line, the odds of finding one of these easy pretty is one in a million. Karasu sighed silently, then noticed something odd. A woman with a Katana was sneaking inside a warehouse of some kind. Karasu closed his eyes and listened inside, hearing multiple heartbeats inside the house.. including one that was much weaker then the others, and echoed in the body.. a smaller body? A child? Karasu wondered about the story of this woman, and so he ordered his vulture to open his wings and he flew towards the ground a few dozen feet behind her.

When she walked inside by sneaking Karasu attempted something else. In order to get a first person view he flew towards the top of the warehouse and landed on the roof. He then concentrated his hearing to the area around him, he was listening to their conversations and basically everything they were doing. A small bump could be heard in the ceiling when Karasu arrived, but nothing so huge that it could cause a concern to those that heard it.

Alyss kept wandering around the old warehouse. It was really torn down and she had to watch her every step because one wrong step and the people inside would know that she was there. She was coming closer and could hear a child's voice, asking for help. There were also a lot of male voices that kept telling the child to shut the hell up, their very own words, not Alyss' (nor mine's).

She heard a small bump and cursed under her breath, swearing that it was hers, not someone else's. She heated up the katana more and moved at a rapid pace, still making little to no noise, and went to the room where all the noises came from. She stood outside and listened carefully, trying to have a general idea of where they were located in the room.

There were around five voices, all men, and two or three seemed really close to the door. The rest seemed in the back of the room, among with the child. Alyss stood there wondering if she should enter and kill everyone. It didn't seem like a smart idea considering that there was a child present. Maybe she could run towards the little girl, knock her out and then murder everyone else. She sighed and decided that neither would be a good option. She grabbed her katana with one hand and with the other she created a meter circumference fireball that she threw to the lower floor, starting a fire.

Alyss waited patiently while smoke made its way upstairs and to the room where the people had the child in. She heard screams and curses being thrown at the air as someone led the room. Alyss smiled and waved at the man in front of her. "How's it going bro? Scared of a little fire? Boo" and then the whole body of the man was being incinerated in front of her. The attack, although it was out of the nowhere, was rather slow and he managed to scream for help.

"Well, this surely is going to be a long evening" Alyss commented as the rest of the men filed out of the room.

Karasu listened to the entire ordeal take place. The girl apparently had an unnatural power, she somehow got someone incinerated without the sound of chemicals moving around. The tingling sound of fire just appeared without a hint of an object that caused it, did that mean she had powers that summoned these flames? The only power that came to Karasu's mind is the fire from the mera mera fruit, which meant that she had capabilities that others lacked. She might have a future. Karasu heard the man's scream for help and the sound of footsteps marching through the ground and towards the single heartbeat that was immediately recognized as the woman's. Karasu continued to hear the situation unfold, and he also heard the sound of the man's heart stop beating. This made the woman a murderer. Karasu smiled, maybe there was promise in this girl.

Alyss scowled as the last body fell to the floor, very much dead. "These guys weren't even a threat. What is wrong with the world these days?" she muttered under her breath and entered the room where the child was located. The little girl was shivering and had trails of tears on her cheeks, she looked terrified, sad, and scared. And lonely. Alyss' heart hurt terribly by just looking at her. She smiled kindly.

"It's okay little girl, lets get you out of here" she said gently as she started untying her. However as she continued to do so, the building started to fall apart. Alyss cursed under her breath and knew that it was her fault that this was happening.

Karasu sat on the roof and continued to hear the situation unfold. If the woman didn't save the girl and die in the process if attacking these men, then Karasu would have to swoop in and help the little girl. However, instead the woman proved to be strong and burned every thug in the house. When she finished, however, the house started to fall to the ground. Karasu watched to see what would happen next. His vulture waited on his shoulder for an order of some kind, but all Karasu did was close his eyes and focus on whatever was going on bellow. Karasu waited, and aimed his gun at the building bellow. If anything happened he'd probably have to intervene.

Alyss carried the girl on her back as she proceeded to leave the building. She knew fire wouldn't hurt her, but heavy things falling on her would. Besides, she wasn't the only one here, she worried about the little girl more than anyone, more than herself. She was a big girl, a grown up woman, she could handle it, and if she died, she had lived more than enough. However this girl was so small, so young, and she had yet to see the world, so she didn't deserve dying. Even less since this had all been those bandits' fault, and maybe it was also Alyss' fault a bit, but still.

A wall fell and Alyss had to dodge it before it fell on top of the two of them. Shit, i better hurry, Alyss thought as everything was falling apart. She started running with the girl still on her back, crying desperately. She was hysterical and didn't know what else to do but to cry. It didn't help Alyss to be focused and everything, hearing screams and sobs really close to her, but she continued running, down the stairs, across the main hall, and then, once she was about to go outside, everything started falling faster, she let go of the little girl and pushed her, "RUN" she yelled, seeing that the entry had been blocked partially and only a little body would be able to go through.

The little girl nodded quickly and ran towards the door, heading outside. Once she was outside everything fell apart on top of Alyss, she was still alive though, and waiting for someone to save her... "help..., she whispered softly, hoping someone would hear her.

Karasu heard the sound of footsteps through the building, and even heard the hearts pounding faster the more they ran. The little girl was held by the woman that was saving her, and they both seemed to be having trouble leaving the building. Karasu waited to see the outcome. Eventually the little girl was saved, and the woman was left behind in the crashing building. The little girl escaped, but the rescuer sacrificed her life to save her. The entire building crashed on the woman, and Karasu floated with the wings of his vulture keeping him up. He continued hearing the woman, trying to hear if her heart will continue pounding even after the harsh thrashing. Eventually Karasu understood that she survived the collapse, and heard her voice whisper for help.

Karasu opened his eyes, already localizing the noise, and flew down to the ground. He landed right on top of the area the woman was trapped under, and aimed his pistols directly at the area he remembered her body was located. Karasu pulled the trigger and shot nine canon bullets to the area surrounding the woman, Karasu then dug into the debris and found a glow in the bottom of the enormous pile. Karasu threw the lighter objects out of the way, and shot a solid bullet (which shatters a single solid object) at each of the too-heavy-to-move piles of lumber in the way. Eventually he pulled his hand in, looking at the glowing face, and grabbed her shoulder (burning him in the process). Karasu dragged her out of the pile and set her on his side.

"Are you ok? I heard- err, saw everything that happened."

Alyss had closed her eyes on the impact and then laid down, trying to maintain as much energy as possible. She heard someone shooting at something, and then debris moving, it was really close to where she was. She feared that it was one of the bandits that wasn't in the warehouse and was coming for her, having heard her whisper for help, and wanted to kill her. Had she been able to move, she would have been shivering in fear of what was going to happen.

Then she felt someone remove the debris that was on top of her. Alyss felt a huge relief now that it wasn't on top of her, but it still was laced with the fear of death. She hadn't been scared of dying from the impact of the warehouse coming down, but she was scared of dying by a bandit's attack? She made no sense, but it didn't matter. She was about to move when she felt a hand grabbing her shoulder, it was kind, and Alyss was aware of how hot her body must have been. She knew that the stranger had hurt himself in the process of saving her, so he was obviously not an enemy.

Once the stranger had dragged her out of the pile that used to be the old warehouse, Alyss heard him speaking, but she couldn't make out the words he spoke. She opened her eyes, vibrant green (even more in this situation) with blue in the inner ring of the iris, and stared at the stranger. Once she snapped out of her trance she offered him a small smile. "I'm sorry, what did you say? Also, thanks for saving me..."

Karasu looked at her for a moment, she wasn't half bad looking. Especially when she was unconscious. When she came too she looked dazed, she didn't hear what Karasu had told her. It was for the better, it wasn't a good way to start a conversation by telling someone you didn't do anything to help them until it was almost too late. At least now Karasu had a general idea of her skill level, and the possibilities of her growth. She had a lot ahead of her, and she didn't seem too trained other then in burning things alive. She needed to control her powers, and Karasu had to show her. He smiled, thinking about the possibilities with her, then noticed the burning sensation on his hand. He heard her speak while he looked down at his palm.

"Don't worry about what I said, we need to take you to someone that can treat you. Are you alright to walk through this? Or do you need medical attention?" Karasu needed to keep her alive for now. This meant making sure she wasn't suffering from any pain, an obvious indication of something wrong, or some bruises or red marks around her body. Karasu would expect every inch if she let him, but he'd likely get slapped or burned alive for attempting this. Instead, he'll settle for making sure she's not in any obvious signs of danger after the fall of the building debris.

Alyss blushed and shook her head. "I'm fine, I can walk. Although that warehouse was huge... It did hurt" she laughed slightly and fringed as her body hurt all over. There weren't any cuts or anything too severe, however it ached in its totality. She didn't want the stranger to check her or anything because she thought he would think she's weird, not having a single burn even if the warehouse that fell on her had been set on fire. Sure, she had scratches and things like that, but not a single red mark from burning or anything of the like.

Alyss took in the stranger's appearance. He was handsome, white silvery hair and nice light brown eyes. The scar on his left cheek caught her attention for a fraction of a second but she decided against talking about it. She knew people usually didn't like talking about their scars, unless they were extremely proud of them, but that was very rare. She cleared her throat and proceeded to stand up, noticing that the stranger had looked at his hand, which he now noticed that was burning apparently. "You should get that check as well.. I'm so sorry"

Karasu ignored the burning sensation that he knew will soon overtake his hand. A small bit of the machine inside showed itself, the gloves was a fake appearance so nobody would notice the mechanisms around Karasu's hand that popped specially made pistols. These were pistols Karasu hasn't had the luxury of using yet, to his knowledge. Karasu thought he saw her flinch from a little pain, but it might have been in his imagination. He wanted to ask if he could check every inch of her body, but he kept remembering that it was perverted behavior in most situations. The last thing he wanted was a bigger bounty because of possible sexual desires. Karasu sighed, morals these days can be a problem when they aren't in Karasu's favor. Not that he didn't have his own code of ethics.

Karasu replied to her last comment, "I've had worse burns in the past, I'll live. Don't apologize, you almost died. But, was it worth it?" Karasu waited for an answer, then continued speaking. "I'm going to a hot spring, it might help with the burn. Do you need to head to a hospital?"

Alyss wondered if it was really okay for him to not get his burn treated. She was fine for the most part and it wasn't something that wouldn't hear after some rest. She would live, just like the stranger. So she saw no need to go to a hospital. Besides, this stranger that had saved her seemed really interesting and she kind of wanted to know more of him, so tagging along to the hot spring seemed like a really good idea. She didn't know whether to say it or not, because it might seem like an invitation for something else, as they will have less clothes in it... but Alyss decided to not care this time and shook her head.

"No, I'm okay. Just like you said, i've had worse things happen to me in the past, I will live. So i really don't need to go to a hospital.." she wavered a little, pausing for a second and then continued speaking. "Would you mind if i tag along to the hot spring? Who knows, it might do me good as well" she said smiling.

Karasu nodded after hearing her response, she was fine apparently and wanted to go to the hotspring. He smiled a bit, without knowing, and walked towards the building he remembered had the hot spring. It took a few minutes, but Karasu neglected to talk because he wasn't much of a talking person. Being an assassin gave him the adept ability to stay calm under quiet conditions, that included quiet moments between people. If Alyss had trouble walking Karasu will help her by putting her arm around his shoulders and limping with her for a bit.

Eventually Karasu and Alyss have to separate into their changing rooms. Karasu took off his coat, and pants, and left his vulture around his shoulder while he took off everything else. The only thing that was kept around him was a single pistol, in the off chance someone would try to attack them while he was in a hot spring. Karasu walked in the room, it was misty, and walked slowly in the spring. He dipped his entire lower body in the spring until it touched the ground. Karasu then put his arms around the edge of the spring, he also dipped his burned hand in the hot water. The heat should be enough to kill some bacteria, and the hand wasn't burned to the point where he'd risk serious infection and scarring. Hot water from the spring will do for healing.

Alyss limped her way to the hot springs, she couldn't wait to get there, her body was aching like it never had. But she pretended to be fine so that the stranger wouldnt notice and try to help her. He had done more than enough already. Her thoughts drifted for a second back to the little girl she saved, she hoped her mom had found her, as she didn't really get back to her (since she was buried underneath a warehouse...). But soon she decided to not worry, since she at least had saved her.

Once they reached the hot spring they had to separate into their gender specific changing rooms, which Alyss thanked greatly as she didn't exactly know how she would feel about a stranger seeing her naked. No matter how grateful she was to this stranger, having saved her life, she still didn't feel comfortable enough to be naked in front of him. She didn't even know his name! So she took of her clothes slowly, cringing every so often as she touched her body with too much force. Once she was naked, and had left her katana in the locker room, she went towards the room where the hot spring was.

She had her body wrapped in a white towel, her hair up in a bun and her cheeks were flushed. She could see the shadow of a figure inside the spring but she wasn't sure if it was the stranger that had saved her. Alyss decided that since it was the only person in the spring it must have been him, so she entered the spring slowly and moved towards him. Once she was close to him she sat slowly, cringing once her body touched the ground, but soon recovered and smiled. "So, what's your name?" she asked.

Karasu heard the sound of water churning, and it was getting closer to him. It must have been the girl, because he didn't see anyone else in the changing room for men and he didn't see anyone while he was standing up in the hot spring. Karasu grabbed the gun though, just in case some rapid movement showed a sign of an attack. When he felt the body go down into the water, and speak, he immediately recognized the voice as the woman he had just saved. She was close to him now. In the past this would upset Karasu, and even turn him red and pass out, but he's changed a lot.. some might say he's changed too much. Hatred, responsibility, greed, an ego, and a hobby to kill have changed him and turned him into what he is today. Now he is sitting next to a woman with flesh, and he didn't seem too fazed.

She asked him his name, now he had to either tell the truth or lie. Would this woman recognize Karasu if he told her his real name? Would she recognize him by rumors, or the bounty poster after bluntly announcing himself? He couldn't risk it, but he couldn't betray her trust either, so he decided to stay in the middle of a lie and the truth. "My nickname is the Crow of Death. You can call me Crow. What's your name? And what do you do these days?" The steam in the hot spring seemed to only increase while the conversation continued; Karasu, because of the way his arm was positioned before she laid down on the water, now had his arm technically around her while he was sitting on the water. If she was sitting close enough to him to be within arms reach, then this would look like a couples date to anyone that saw it. Ironic.

Alyss smiled at the guy and nodded. "Oh, so I guess I'll just call you Crow then. I'm Alyss Hart. I come from an isolated island, no one really knows about it, it's almost impossible to get in and out of it. And I have just been looking for something to do lately. I left the island for private reasons, however maybe someday I'll tell you" she smiled brightly at Crow, hoping he wouldn't be offended by her refusing to give any details about her past. He didn't really seem like a guy that wanted to talk about his own past either, so Alyss figured it would be fine. Alyss would have given her own nickname to Crow, however she didn't really have one, so her full name would have to do.

"I have to catch up to so many things, this is like a complete different universe to the one back in the island" she commented, throwing her hands up and leaning on the side of the spa softly, only then realizing Crow's arm that was basically around her. She blushed slightly but decided against commenting about it. It would only make things awkward, so she would leave it be. She wanted to know more about the stranger, not his history or anything that might upset him, but more like his likes, his hobbies and everything like that. "What about you? What do you do these days?"

Karasu heard her talk about her island. It didn't take long before he realized she was basically secluded in the island. She might not have had contact with the outside world, otherwise his hint to his idendity would have been a dead give-away. Karasu put some of the pieces together, it was impossible to get in and OUT of the island? In other words, she got out of the island through impossible means? That usually meant illegally. She also mentioned she had to catch up to many things, that confirmed that she escaped the island because she missed something back home. Did she miss adventure? Karasu would never know. Suddenly she asked him about his own life, what he did for a living. Karasu didn't know what to tell her, did he have to lie? Karasu sighed, if there was a time to invite her to the crew would this be it? He had to think of a way to change the subject, or just make her stop asking questions until he found out whether or not he should invite her to his island. Or maybe, just maybe, it was best to tell her now and see her reaction. Only one way to find out.

"I'm an assassin; I guess you can call me a fighter for hire." Karasu looked at her reaction, looking for any hint of fear or denial. If any of these signs showed, then he couldn't invite her to Dark Isle. This was one of his tests.

Alyss opened her mouth in an 'o' for a second and then smiled brightly. "I knew there was something interesting about you! I'm glad I wasn't wrong!" she said laughing slightly. She was incredibly happy that Crow was just like her, an assassin. She had murdered tons of people during their rebellion, and had murdered even her own parents. Although she didn't know if Crow enjoyed murdering or he just did it for the money, Alyss guessed that she would find that out later on, once they got to know each other better.

"I guess you could consider me an assassin, at least that's how i was raised" Alyss started, getting more comfortable with the situation. "They raised us, the noble children, as killing machines" she commented sourly while staring at Crow. She didn't know if she should tell him her whole story or just leave it at that. Maybe he wasn't really interested? So before continuing any further, Alyss decided to wait for a sign from Crow that he wanted to hear it. She didn't want to be labelled a girl that talked too much, so she was kind of scared of it.

Her reaction was... unexpected. She was glad that Karasu was an assassin, which was not something that was normal in most if not every other part of the world except Dark Isle (and other areas that were of the dark affinity). One of Karasu's eye brows raised when she mentioned that she was a nible raised and trained to be an assassin. Suddenly a memory flashed itself before his eyes, the image of a slaughter.. Karasu tried to ignore it and continued to stay in the current world. She looked like a promising candidate for the crew, so far. However, Karasu needed to know more about her before jumping to the next part of the test.. it also showed a little about her. She seemed brave, and happy, and surprisingly 'untwisted' compared to most of Karasu's crew. If anything she was the most.. normal, which was odd for someone with her background. Is she that strong that her past isn't affecting her happiness? Karasu wanted to know more.

When she finished talking Karasu let a small smile twirl itself across his face. "Don't stop now, you have to finish the story."

Alyss was glad Crow wasn't bored about her talk, she actually enjoyed talking about her past with him, maybe because she thought he wouldn't judge her, him being an assassin as well. Alyss hadn't wanted to talk about the rebellion with people she met after leaving the island mostly because she was scared that they would run away, but in the end she had to leave anyway, so it really made no sense. They would have just judged her, and she didn't want that. But Crow wasn't like that, or at least he didn't appear to be. He was interested in her talk, almost a little bit too interested, but Alyss didn't mind. It was like talking about it would make it be in the past, and that would be enough. The rebellion part, the murders, that wasn't the problem. It was her childhood that she had problems forgetting. But she knew that everything was over, so that was enough to be happy.

"Well, like I told you, we were raised to become killing machines. The nobles were afraid that the lower classes would rebel against them, and so they wanted special bodyguards, and who would be more loyal than their own children? No one." Alyss shook her head, sighing. "In my opinion, anyone would have been more loyal than us" she stuck her tongue out jokingly. "They learned that the hard way, didn't they?" she chuckled. "So we were trained and even given devil fruits to some. I was one of them. We were taught a lot of martial arts and fighting styles. It was terrible. Maybe someday I will tell you in detail" she gave him a secretive smile and continued her tale. "I was fed up with the style of life, training and living for someone else, someone that was faceless. I had never seen my parents before, hell, I didn't even know their names. So then I decided to lead the rebel army. Of course, we out powered them and I found out that my parents were the King and Queen of the island. I killed them too, it was... awesome" she smiled and looked away, she didn't want Crow to think that she enjoyed it too much, like she actually did. It wasn't the time or the place to make him realize it. "We won, my friend stayed as the head of the society, and I decided to leave. They didn't need me anymore, and I didn't want to stay"

Karasu heard the story, and listened attentively. She was raised as an assassin to keep the people of the lower class in check, the nobles used their own children as the subjects to their training and thought the children would protect the parents with their lives.. obviously, as Alyss mentioned, they were wrong. She raised an uprising and took over the island, leaving a close friend of hers behind to govern it while she went away to travel. Knowing all of this Karasu now knew why she was the way she was, it was because she now had freedom. Although, he detected a small smirk when she talked about killing her parents. Karasu must have imagined it, since it happened fast.. and it was pretty steamy in the hot spring.

When she finished Karasu smiled. "So, you're a trained fighter then? And you went through all of that just to earn your freedom?" Karasu asked, knowing the answers already. Karasu already figured that she was definitely trained and harsh enough to become an assassin.. since she killed her own parents without a second thought. Karasu looked at the sky, then spoke, "You know, having a fire devil fruit is a great gift, it'd be a shame for your gift to go to waste." Karasu said this to surprise her, after all.. he did hear everything that happened.. this included the flames that appeared from her body, and the fire that was placed right on her position but did no damage. Not to mention he found her burning hot inside a hole, the evidence was overwhelming by this point.

Alyss hmm'ed. She was thinking about it. Of course, she didn't want it to go to waste. She wanted to continue being an assassin and all of it, but how would she be able to achieve that? She wasn't sure. "I know my powers are a gift, but I'm not sure how I can let them not go to waste" she told him, shrugging her shoulders. Then she thought about the possibilities. "Well, I guess I could be sort of like a bounty hunter? I think that's a thing right? To hunt pirates for the money? Hmm, or become a pirate... that sounds like fun too... I don't really care about the money, so i guess bounty hunter wouldn't be that much fun either... Ugh I don't know" Alyss put her head on her hands and sighed deeply. She had no idea of what she would do once Crow and her parted ways, and he was right, she shouldn't waste her powers. The only problem was that Alyss didn't know what to do with them either.

Karasu smiled, she didn't know what to do with her powers? Then he had to give her a reason. She mentioned she didn't have an interest for money, however. That could mean a good thing, or a bad thing. Karasu thought for a moment, then remembered that he had to test her one more time.. she saved the girl, so the girl could fight, Alyss also has an open book.. so she can join the crew and find an initiative. She had potential as well; potential is hard to find these days. Karasu wondered if he should let her join his crew.. but he had to find out one thing first, if she passed this test then he'd ask her and tell her everything she needed to know about him (which wasn't much, because Karasu was not the type to talk.)

His left arm, already around Alyss, grabbed the pistol that was carefully placed in the area behind her prior to her sitting next to him. Karasu hunched over, with his neck slowly inching towards Alyss. Karasu tried to place his right hand under her chin, to elevate her sights to his eyes. Karasu then moved closely, and stopped close to her lips. Meanwhile, behind Alyss's head, Karasu placed the barrel close to her head. If she did something to save herself, or confuse Karasu enough to escape, then she would be asked right afterwards and he'll explain everything he HAS to explain, then answer her questions. Karasu's lips are currently an inch ahead of Alyss's lips, and his pistol's barrel is the same distance from her head.

Alyss knew something was wrong once Crow inched towards her. At first she thought he was just going to kiss her (which was probably just wrong), but then she sensed movement behind her and could almost swear she heard the minimal (almost inaudible) sound of metal. She wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but she did know that Crow could not kiss her. She would not let him do anything of the like. Even if he had saved her. Besides, the uncomfortable feeling of being in danger didn't let her think about anything else. She had to be safe, it was the only option.

Alyss smiled at Crow and moved her hand up to Crow's cheek, almost touching it. She created flames that enveloped her hand. "Move any further and i'll incinerate you whole" she said coldly, knowing that there was no time for fooling around anymore. The presence of danger made Alyss switch to her assassin mode, she would not die this day, and she would certainly not kiss a stranger this way.
