| Name: Nathan "Nate" Page Epithet: Brain-Dead Theme: Ro-Sham-BoAge: 21 Bounty: 0B Species: Human Occupation: Fighter Allegiance: Pirate Home Village/Ocean: Roshambo Island, South Blue Appearance: Nathan is a well-built man, standing at 1.75 meters and weighting just under 80 kilograms. He sports a pair of brown eyes and short-yet-spiky pitch black hair with matching sideburns. He is a lazy shaver, meaning that his face is almost always covered with short bristles and a short goatee on his chin. Perhaps the most abnormal part of his face is the small oval-shaped mark that Ellicia, the love of his life, headbutted into the upper left side of his forehead. Nathan claims that the mark is not oval-shaped, but heart-shaped, symbolizing their love. However, any resemblance between the shape of the mark to a heart, and between Nathan's and Ellicia's relationship to love, exists only in Nathan's head. Along from Nathan's overall stupidity and apathy, the mark is the source of Nathan's epithet. As expected from a man originating from Roshambo Island, Nathan like to wear clothes with as many pockets as possible, for him to hide his hands from opponents. He wears a pair of olive-colored cargo pants, with no less than 10 pockets overall: 4 down each side plus two at the back. In addition, Nathan wears a black leather jacket over a dark-blue shirt. The jacket sports two pockets on each side plus 2 extra pockets hidden within it. The back of his jacket has a patch stitched into it. The patch reads "I love Rock-paper-scissors", with a heart replacing the word love and the three gestures of the game replacing their respectful names. Nathan's appearance is completed with a pair of black military boots and a brown belt. History: As the youngest child of a four-child family, Nathan was expected to rise to the level of his three older sisters, each as successful as can be, from the moment he was born. However, it soon became obvious that Nathan wasn't made of the same material that his sisters were made of. His sisters bested him in every aspect. While his sisters studied and excelled, he could barely manage to read and write. Soon enough, Nathan became the disappointment of the Page family, that was known around Roshambo island for their intelligence and long heritage of scholars and artists. He could feel the stares of pity the people of the island aimed at him every time he passed by. He could imitate his parents telling him about how he won't amount to anything if he didn't try harder word-by-word. The truth was that aside from not being particularly bright, Nathan also didn't care for any of the fields his family wanted him to occupy himself in. Books weighted his eyes down, music and art wouldn't spark the slightest interest in his mind, and any chore that was given to him was given the absolute least amount of attention he could afford to pay it. He enjoyed the simple, brainless activities, like eating drinking or fighting around the island. The only field in which his sisters couldn't best him in was Rock-Paper-Scissors, whose importance around the island brought Nathan just enough respect to not be completely shunned from its society out of complete uselessness. As Nathan got older and needed a job, he was quickly assigned with the simple task of guarding the island's docks at night. Roshambo didn't have any particular attraction to pirates, making the job easy even for an idiot like Nathan. On top of that, the job fitted his overall bulk and somewhat impressive strength, while also keeping him away from the island's people by making him sleep all day and work all night. Seemingly, it was a perfect fit. Everything went smoothly at first, Nathan liked spending time away from the island's pity, and the free time he had to spend around the docks was perfect for his Jankenpo training. Personality:Ship: name of ship. Add a link to the vessel if you have created one. Ship Flag: describe Devil Fruit: None Type: Effect:Special Abilities: Jankenpo - Rock-Paper-Scissors Style: Originating from Roshambo Island of the South Blue, where a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors determines pretty much everything, the Jankenpo is a fighting style that utilizes what can be considered as one of the most ancient games known to man for combat purposes. With the perfect triangle of power, that turns the game into a marvel of balance as the base of the Jankenpo, the style offers a countering option for most, if not all, of situations. Much like the game's weapons, the moves of the Jankenpo are as absolute as a martial art can be, each with great advantages or great disadvantages in every given situation. The style itself is centered on three key moves, based around the three weapons of the game, allowing the individual practitioners to develop their own personal branches of the style with their respective skills and strengths. - Spoiler:
- Stance:
Users of Jankenpo assume a very specific stance while using this style. On Roshambo Island, where every man woman and child is taught to notice the tiniest of details to predict his opponent's weapon of choice and counter with the proper one, hiding one's moves is a crucial step to achieve victory. In order to do so, the practitioners hide their hands behind their back while facing their opponent, and move them to the front only while executing their moves, preventing the opponent from predicting their moves until it's too late. Since the legs can't be hidden, they have a very negligible role in the fighting style, leaving most of the fighting to the fighter's hands.
- The Key Moves:
The moves of the Jankenpo are divided into ranks, ranging from Rank Zero to infinity, depending on the practitioners experience. Moves of same rank react with each other according to the rules of Rock-Scissors-Paper. Rank Zero includes the very basic moves with no superhuman traits placed into them, and is used by every kid in Roshambo Island: Rock being a basic punch, Scissors being a two-fingered poke or pinch and Paper being an open palm strike or block. The following ranks become more versatile and dangerous as superhuman traits appear. Ranks are not limited to including only 3 moves in them, and the names of the moves are freely given by the respective users.
- Sheer Luck:
While inexperienced Janken players rely on luck to win their games, a true player of the game relies on much more. For the people of Roshambo island, the ability to notice the opponent's move a microsecond beforehand is crucial, and as a result, the users of the Jankenpo develop an incredible ability to react to the quickest of attacks with a fitting counter. Skilled in identifying the slightest of movements in the shortest of times, a Jankenpo user is capable of reading his opponent's moves, unless the opponent manages to disguise his moves, which is the purpose of the Jankenpo stance.
- Weapons of Gesture:
Thanks to the use of their own hands as weapons, the users of Jankenpo develop inhumane sturdiness, making their hands and forearms as durable as steel.
