Armor Name: Ironwood Gauntlets

Description: These are a pair of generic looking gauntlets. They protect the arms and hands of the wearer. They are a bit unusual in that they do not cover the entire fingers of their wearer. This was done to allow the wearer even more freedom of movement then is typical of most gauntlets.

Special Abilities: These gauntlets are hard. Seriously, incredibly hard. They were made from the wood of an Ironwood tree. No, not one the many kinds of trees that are called ironwood trees. Those are simply trees that have unusually hard wood. This weapon was made from the original Ironwood trees, which gave all of those other trees the description 'ironwood'. These gauntlets have been made by an expert craftsman and are actually among some of the best work there is. In other words, they are comparable to even high quality steel, except they are much lighter. Ironwood is a very special wood, not only because it is durable, but also because it acts like metal and can actually be melted down and shaped into weapons or armor.

History: These are fairly generic pieces of armor, so far as armor goes in Greenleaf Town. The blacksmiths in that town have been making Ironwood armor for hundreds of years.

After she finished her bounty hunter training, Elwin Fairchild was given these gauntlets as a present from her teacher. She has worn them almost every second since then and they have saved her life on a number of occasions.
