Serious: The Sage Pirates Chapter 1: Introductions

Tiredly sipping on a pint of beer sat the man who had grown up with stories of roger, whose mind had been filled with dreams and hopes of a man named roger, the previous pirate king. His yellow eyes fixed on the glass as the beer was finished and the glass slammed down on the bar. Sage had been on this island for two weeks and it was beginning to try his patience. He had been searching for crew mates and been unsuccessful, we're these people scared of a life of piracy? As sage stood up leaving his payment for his beer on the bar he exited the pub and headed down the street talking to himself.

"so two weeks and not one person interested in becoming a pirate. Well maybe they're scared. But if people are scared then how come some of them enlist to be marines? I don't know maybe because there's more of them. Hm maybe."

Realising how everyone looked at him as he talked to himself he shut his mouth and thrust his hands into his pockets. He needed crew mates and if he couldn't find any here then he would happily leave this town unsuccessfully and head on to the next island. This was already starting to seem like a dull day in the south blue. The sun was blazing down on them and a slight swift breeze blew through the streets and felt nice blowing through sages coat. As he sat down on a bench he ran his hands down his face and looked up towards the sky trying to think of where he could find pirates on this island.

Ben laied on his small raft as it swayed across the bright blue oceon, there wasn't much to do in a small raft like this but stare at the sky.

"Hmph,Boredom..." he mutterd as he stared into a cloud.

Suddenly, an island apperead across the horizan.

"Heh, looks like luck was on my side"

The name of the island was Ember island, home of famous bandits and outlaws. The streets were busy and the pubs were full in the only city of the island. The rest of the island was forests and small camps here and there. The marines in general had close to no control over this island, and just ignored it as it had no advantages of protecting. The island was one of the few islands without a government, as such the 'regular' inhabitants of the city were paying bandits on regular basis in order to stay safe.

Meanwhile after someone out-of-town left the bar a bandit noticed someone paying for beer. His 'clan' owning the bar he saw the stranger had money. As soon as he left he grabbed his sheathed combat knife and followed behind him. As he did so he heard the stranger talk to himself. 'pft, pirates.. this is not their turf' he thought. grabbing his knife he quickly got close to the stranger. '' Give me the money.'' . His voice was clearly full with killing intents, after all the stranger would just be another killed passerby.

Raising his head to look at the man who spoke to him about handing him the money sage sighed shaking his head.

"give me the money? You really think I'm going to hand over some money to you cause you have a knife?"

Ignoring the man's request sage remained sitting on the bench not afraid of the man with the knife nor worried what he could or would do.

As he sat there he crossed his outstretched legs and reached down into his sash for his cosh which he held in his hand firmly just in case. He knew he wasn't a fantastic warrior himself just yet but he did know that if this man attacked that it would benefit him more if he was armed instead of having to arm himself then attack.

He tried thinking about who could join his crew and as he sat there wondering where he could find a crew he looked back at the man and realised this guy wasn't someone who looked like they'd be up for following orders. Tightly gripping his cosh sage prepared himself to attack.

Ben slowly docked his raft and began to look around.

"Pretty Crowded,eh?" Ben said to himself as he began to explore this busy island,who knows maybe something intresting might happen.

''Y-you bastard''. He screeched while charging at the stranger, however before he could get close a load sound could be heard. It was the sound of a gunshot. In a flash the bandits head was impaled by a bullet and dropped dead on the cold dirt. Whilst smoke still coming out of the barrel the one holding the gun( a revolver to be precise) grinned. ''this is my turf you punk.''.

The man in question was wearing a black robe with seemingly brown leather clothing beneath it. The man had sharp green eyes and black hair. He appeared to be in his late 20's. Across the streets gossips could be heard. ''Is that the famous Jack?''

Not long after that two other tough looking guys joined jack, both wearing the seemingly signature black robe. One of them looked at the stranger, grabbed his gun, and started talking. ''You haven't seen anything alright?''

Hearing what the man before him said and seeing him About to attack sage readied himself to attack the man when suddenly a spray of blood flew his way and he watched as the corpse of the man fell on top of him. Pushing the corpse aside and wiping the spray from himself sage looked at the man responsible. As he looked at the men and heard voices ask if that was some guy called jack sage placed his cosh back and walked up to the man who'd fired the shot.

As one of them asked him if he'd seen anything sage stopped for a second in front of the man and began to quietly talk to himself questioning his answer. He avoided eye contact as he spoke to himself and finally looked into the mans eyes before answering.

"what if I had seen something?"

He was curious as to who these people were and what would come his way if indeed he did see something. Feeling his cosh in his sash sitting comfortably he waited for an answer from the men with a slightly deranged look on his face.

Ben slowly roamed the streets of this particular village, the shops were crowded and bars were really busy. Ben sighed and continued his walk however before he could take another step a gun shot was to be heard, the village seemed to freeze for a split second. Thier eyes glued onto a man who seemed to be wearing a black robe.

"Who's he?...." Ben thought as he began to approach the man in the robe.

Another man seemed to be with him, were they making some kind of deal? Many thoughts rushed through Ben's head, he sighed.

"Typical Murder..."

''Stand down''. As jack said that the outlaw in robes put back his weapon. I suggest you to leave this town... now.. I'm afraid things are about to go down.''. It was weird that the man sounded caring while he seconds ago he was commanding an outlaw. The other outlaw-in-robes walked towards jack and whispered something in his ears. As soon as the outlaw was done whispering jack turned around and walked away, telling ''You have 24 hours!'' at the supposed-to-be pirate. Whilst walking away jack walked against the individual known as ben. As soon as he did the outlaw who just threatened someone with his gun once again pulled it out, this time shooting before hack could say anything about it. It wasn't a quick movement, so even someone with slow reflexes could dodge it. With was obvious a warning to not cross jack again like that.

Ben quickly tilted his head to the right, the bullet had missed him and was very close to skimming his gas mask. Ben took this as some kind of warning and continued on his way.

"There is something called a greeting..." he thought as he quickly slipped his gloved hands into his pockets.

He made his way to a small bar which he had noticed earlier, maybe he could rest there.
