Capabilities: The user of the Obsidian Fruit gains the ability to control and create obsidian, a black volcanic glass. The uses of this fruit are numerous, but some capabilities of the fruit can only be used under certain circumstances.


Sharpness: The primary quality of obsidian is its alarming sharpness. Obsidian is the sharpest naturally occurring substance on the planet, and thus is an extraordinarily deadly material. Shards of obsidian are capable of cutting through nearly anything with ease: however, there is a minor drawback to this aspect of the fruit's abilities. That is that friendly pedestrians may get caught in the crossfire and harmed by the sharp shards of obsidian. The user of this fruit is able to coat themselves in an obsidian coat of armor, due to the fact that the user cannot be harmed by the obsidian they create.

Reflective Nature: Due to the fact that it is glass, obsidian has an extremely reflective property, capable of reflecting light just as well as nearly any mirror. This allows the user of this fruit to create obsidian planes for reflective purposes, whether to peek around a corner or to deflect a light based attack. The planes of obsidian could then be manipulated to use as deadly guillotine blades.


Brittle: Obsidian is an extremely brittle material: even though it is extremely sharp, it is incredibly easy to break and shatter. Thus, forming the obsidian into weaponry is a normally ineffective method, for fighting against other swordsmen or similar opponents would lead to the destruction of the weapon used by the user. Instead, obsidian can only be used to supplement the blade of an already extant weapon, in order for the sharpness of the obsidian to be used to its fullest extent. While obsidian does break easily, it also results in the broken shards forming sharp edges, making shattering a wall formed by the user a very bad idea.
