weapon special abilities: These glasses have been created to magnify or even x-ray things. Ed learned how to do this after he stole technology from the WG. This helps him to asses the people around him and watch out for possible enemies
history: After running away from his scientist job and stealing info and technology from the WG, Ed went to work on using this to benefit him. The first thing he modified were his own glasses. After adding circuitry and tweaking it heavily. It took about a year for him to get it to the way he has gotten it.
