Laik grew up an orphan he was raised on the streets in a rough neighbourhood and hated his life, he always thought that he didn’t deserve to live since he didn’t grow up with his parents, even though his mother died in childbirth and his father committed suicide shortly after losing his wife as he couldn't handle raising Laik on his own. Laik never learnt the truth about his parents and was raised on the streets struggling to scavenge together a living.

After the age of 10 Laik managed to break into a Noble’s house after smelling something great as he climbed in he followed his nose to the kitchen where he hid until the kitchen was empty. Once it was empty he rushed in and grabbed handfuls of food and began filling his pockets with it. Laik filled his stomach and ended his hunger for the day and then turned to head back home to his alleyway. As he turned to leave an elderly woman with bad eye sight walked in and caught him. She mistook him for her son who’d been kid napped weeks before. The old woman thought her son had broken free and looked at Laik and hugged him close and told him he would never let him go again. Laik wanted to tell this old woman who he was until he looked around and realised he would have a better life here.

Laik was led up to his room where he discovered he would have fresh clean clothes, food and everything else he could ever want. Laik accepted this life and began asking his foster mother if he could study the sea. The old woman was so relieved to have her son back she told him he could study anything he wanted to and Laik began studying the seas. Laik spent night and day studying and swimming around in the sea to learn more about it. He was fascinated with the sea and wanted to discover so much more about it and decided the best way to do such a thing was to learn about ships and submarines. Laik was told by the old woman whose eye sight was getting worse that she wanted him to go to college and study more. Laik agreed and instead of going to college spent his time sneaking to the shipyard to learn about ships. Laik spent his days watching the shipwrights working and made notes of everything he saw.

After living with the elderly woman for 8 years Laik had gathered enough knowledge to become a shipwright and hopefully leave this island. He hadn’t a ship and didn’t think he could steal one so at night he spent the next 2 weeks sneaking out of the house and building a small submarine using any knowledge he had gotten from the shipyard. He hid the submarine in a small cove around the corner from the town. Laik planned to leave until he heard about the Marines plans to cleanse his old home. Laik wanted to leave but felt he should try and warn the people.

As Laik rushed to his old home to spread a warning about it he tried telling people the Marines were coming to burn the place down and them with it but no one listened to him. When the guards from the upper town sealed off the door and Laik tried getting back to his submarine on the other side people who knew him when he had been here before called out his name. The guards looked at Laik and noticed who he was; they then looked at the boys calling his name and pointed their guns at him. Laik was in trouble and ran for his life. As his former home town was set on fire Laik ran from the guards and dived into the water surrounding the island. He swam to where he had hidden his little submarine and sailed away in it leaving everything he had once known behind.

Laik is a nice person who loves to cheer people up, he is a good listener but not very confident in himself. The only thing he is confident in is his ability as a deep sea diver, shipwright and helmsman. He dislikes people who poke fun at him and point out his fang. Laik loves the sea and will sometimes try and swim alongside the ship as a form of training he is confident with his body on display as he knows it looks good but he doesn’t care what people think of it.

Extended Breath-From all of his swimming around in the sea Laik has managed to extend the length of time he can hold his breath.

Spear-Laik fires a harpoon at his enemy from his harpoon gun.

Retract-Laik pulls the harpoon he has fired from his enemy.

Doggie Paddle-Laik spins his fists round and round like he is doggie paddling only instead he is punching.

Breast Stroke-Laik leans forward to do a breast stroke and clenches his fists whilst breast stroking on land he punches the enemies in front of him and either side of him.
