Name: Yang D. Grady
Age: 20
Bounty: 200,000 for murder in his involvement of the pyramid games
Species: Human
Occupation: Brawler, Archeologist and Navigator
Allegiance: Pirate
Home Village/Ocean: Grandline
Appearance: Grady is decently muscular, but still very lean and skinny, making his build classified as 'Semi Muscular'. For example, he has arms that are more skinny then any very muscular person, but his muscles are defined, same with his legs, chest ect. He is an average or slightly above height at 5 feet 10 inches (177.8 CM) and weighs in at 155 pounds (70.3068 kg). He has decently tanned skin which is very smooth, but has lots of freckles on his nose and his cheeks. He has a small, thin scar running across one of his cheeks, which shows his service in the fighting club he was in. Grady has very large light brown eyes, almost amber colored. Grady has sandy blonde hair mixed with a straw color of sorts, and his hair is very soft, and some might even say its unnatural how soft his hair is. His hair is very wavy, and goes down to about one fourth of his eyes in the front, but only the left one as his hair is naturally curved that way. On the sides, his hair reaches to where his mouth is whirled out a bit. In the back his hair reaches his neck and has the same affect it does on the sides. Grady's hair is what you could call unkempt, as some hair on the top sticks up and such. Grady has thin, darker blonde eye brows and no facial hair (has a thin beard sometimes when he is too lazy to shave).
Grady sports a tattoo of whats basically a triforce on his upper arm, the symbol of the 'Pyramid' fight club. He also has his scar, which he got in the fight club, on his left cheek. Then, on his other upper arm his has a Jolly Roger Tattoo, symbolizing that hes a pirate. Grady wears many different things, but whatever the outfit, he always wears his lucky brown bandana with the same jolly roger he tattooed on his arm. He got that bandana from his father when he went out to sea with his pirate crew, and was told to 'wear it proud'. He wears the thin fabric however, a bit lopsided on his head. When Grady is just exploring with no intention of fighting, he will usually wear a baggy, olive, V neck tee shirt. He will usually wear baggy kacky cargo pants that sag a bit and brown converse on his feet. Even if he doesn't PLAN on fighting, a fighter should always expect the unexpected, so he carries his knife in his pocket. If he is going to fight though, his outfit is much different. He wears white robes as his shirt, and sometimes takes this off to move faster, leaving him shirtless. He has white, sweatpants like pants that are super baggy but don't sag down. As a belt, he uses a black ribbon made of silk. His outfit when it is cold out is the pants he wears with his battle uniform, as they are warming, and wears a wool hooded sweatshirt over a tee. Whatever he wears he always has a brown backpack with him.
History: Grady was born on April 24th to parents Yang M. Ella, a cleaner and a cook and Yang D. Saul a swordsman and ex pirate. His crew was called the Ribbon Pirates, but were broken up when there leader was captured and sent to Impel Down. His father had been the first mate, but since then settled down with his family, and Grady's brother and sister Yang M. Cole and Yang M. Emma, both much younger than Grady (4 years to be exact). As a very young boy, Grady always had a fascination with maps, and would pour over the ones his father had gotten when he was a pirate. His father would also tell him the stories of where they got those maps, which Grady loved. Also, as a small boy, his father decided to send him to his old master to teach him the same sword style his father used when he was a pirate. His master; Ling Yao, was the sensei of a dojo and taught the Yao weaponry style. Grady was sat in front of four weapons and told to choose one. Instead of the usually popular sword, he chose the saber, and was the first to do so in one hundred years. This when the master began training Grady to use the saber, at the ripe age of five. He was also taught to read and navigate maps by his master, and would often go on expositions on the island with him.
When Grady turned nine, however things went downhill for him. His fathers crew was recalled, and he, as the first mate, had to go, leaving his mother, brother and sister behind. Grady cried as his father walked on to the ship, and his father told him not to cry, because he was the man of the family now, and he needed to help them survive no matter the costs. Grady tearily agreed and began running his family. Before he left, however, his father gave him a knife for protecting himself. Things then began to change. They had to move to a different island to afford a house, leaving his master, and any chance of becoming a swordsman behind. Somethings, how ever, didn't change. Grady still looked over maps, still loved navigating and all those other things. But by time his was 14 money became tighter in the Yang household, and no one knew what to do. One day, however, while Grady was walking, he saw a poster advertising a fighting tournament, and prize of 100,000 belli! Grady then began training vigorously, and by time the tournament came around, he had a martial arts style worked out, which he called 'basic street brawl'. The tournament was easy for Grady, since he was up against novices looking for easy money. When he had finished, he walked out of the place with his money when he was stopped by a man. The man asked Grady if he wanted to fight for money more, and Grady said yes, this was the worst mistake of Grady's life.
From that day forward, for 3 years, Grady was in the fighting club known as 'The Pyramid Games', and was given the tattoo on his welcome day to prove it. In this fight club, two men were pitted in fights against each other...to the death. Grady hated this idea, but needed to make money, and this was the best way he could. The money was good also, he got 100,000 per fight, and did two fights per week. He, of course, could never tell his mom and siblings what his 'job' really was. He would come home sometimes with bruises and cuts, and said it was work, and nothing else. So good did come from the club, though, as Grady had perfected his style to a point. As Grady fought, he got more and more focused on the club, and barley had time for his family. One day, his sister came up to him and told him so. He didn't think much of it at the time, but afterwards, he realized she was right. He had promised his father he would protect his family, so he had to, and there was only one way to insure that; he needed to leave the club.
Leaving the Pyramid Games wasn't as simple as that, however. First of all he would lose out on two major benefits of the club; Money and Keeping his name safe from the world government. Also, he would have to pay a certain fine, or else bad things would happen. Grady didn't know what those bad things were but he knew for a fact he wasn't gonna pa the fine. He had his family move again, as his way of avoiding the 'bad things', technically removing himself from the club. Now that he was out of the Games, however, he didn't know how to raise money. Then he got it! He would join a pirate crew, as his father did. His little brother was about how old he was when his father left, so it wouldn't be a problem. He then took some of his money from the fight club and bought a boat. He then got ready to set sail with some maps and other things. Before he left though, he gave his brother the same message his father gave to him. After this he set sail and is currently trying to find a crew to join.
Personality:Grady has two personalities...well, technically one, but he covers it with another one. On the outside, Grady is a happy, optimistic person who likes to enjoy life. He likes to go treasure hunting, navigate and draw maps. These are his favorite things to do since he has been doing them basically all his life, and they also remind him of his master. He also likes swimming, although he likes clear water, like in ponds or lakes, but will swim in both. Grady's favorite thing, no matter how he's feeling is fighting, and practices way more than he should, which is a force of habit from the fight club. He will practice on his punching bag all day if no one stopped him and made him do things other than that. He is also no matter how he s feeling, very shy. He will get awkward while talking to girls or people of high authority, although he can have a normal conversation with most people. He is also a bit lazy, and will do stuff when asked, but usually grumbles about it. This also defines his pushover side, and can't really say no easily. His personality is usually just like this, happy, nice and hopeful, but that changes if you ask about his past in any way and he has to remember himself killing so many people, he changes personalities rapidly.
He will immediately become quiet and emotionless, with a hint of sorrow and anger. If the person tries to dig deeper, he with snap at them, although quickly apologize. A smart person would leave Grady alone after this, and wait for him to cool off, which usually takes a few hours. During this time, he gets the compelling urge to hit something, even though thats what brought him that pain in the first place. So basically in this time he is an emotional wreck. If he loved someone enough, they could probably help him through it but since he hasn't met anyone like that yet, he stays in that state uninterrupted. During this time, if someone was to talk to Grady regularly he would be a realist and a pessimist, and could bring the mood of the happiest person alive down. When he's not in that mood, some things Grady likes are music, he REALLY likes music, Reading, especially mystery books, because he never knows how there gonna end. He dislikes people who go back on there promises, because the man who ran the Pyramid Games deceived him into joining. He also hates Marines and the World Government since he has pirate blood.
Ship: name of ship
Ship Flag: describe
Devil Fruit: Limited to only three devil fruit users per person
Type: (only if you have a devil fruit)
Effect: (only if you have a devil fruit)
Special Abilities: Basic Street Fighting Style: Grady created this style while participating in street fights to gain money for his family. It is an unarmed style, in which the user concentrates his body weight into one area to make that attack much more powerful, which is a very common martial arts technique. Whats unique about this style is that Grady uses almost all parts of his body to attack, not just the hands and legs. It also uses many combination moves, making this style very powerful.
Saber Training: At a young age, Grady was taught to use a type of saber to fight, called a
Dao. This sword style uses a highly offensive stance, as the user swiftly slashes at his foe, causing him to drop back and for the user to move forward.
Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25):Street Fighting Punch: The user balls his fist and and throws it at the enemy in the desired part you want him hit. This punch is special as the user shifts his body so that the punch is much more powerful.
Street Fighting Kick The user bends back his lower leg, focusing his body weight into the coming kick and swings his leg at the enemy, unbending it as he does so.
Street Fighting Palm A technique where the user takes an open palm, then curls down his fingertips, creating the 'Palm' stance, then shifting his body weight into the palm, he thrusts it at the enemy in the desired attack area.
Rib Smash: A relatively simple technique in which the user grabs his enemies shoulders, and pulls them towards them and down while bringing his knee up, smashing the users knee into the enemies ribs
Elbow Shot: A technique in with the user bends his arm and puts it so that the elbow is out in front of him/her, and swings his elbow at the enemy's face
Ram: This technique uses the head, strangely enough. The user drops his head like a Ram, then charges at the enemy with his head down, aiming at the stomach
Corkscrew: The technique is the basic punch in theory, except the user puts his arm palm side up and while punching, twists his arm back to knuckle side up, also works with the 'Palm' stance
Uppercut Kick: The user balances on one leg while the other is bent at the knee, then precedes to kick upwards, making the foot hit the jaw of the other person
Knee Combo Attack: The user does a rib smash; grabbing the users shoulders and shoving them into their ascending knee, causing the damage to the ribs, then sliding his knee up fast, basically doing an uppercut with the knee
Elbow Combo: Much like the elbow shot at first: user bends his arm and puts it so that the elbow is out in front of him/her, and swings his elbow at the enemy's face. Then, after this, the user swiftly shoots his elbow straight into the enemy's face.
Diving Headbutt: The user jumps into the air, then dives headfirst into the enemy's stomach
Chest Explosion: The user focuses his body weight to his upper body, then proceeds to use the 'Corkscrew' attack with both hands in the fist or palm stance, and hits the enemy in the stomach with two corkscrews at the same time[/list]
Weapons/Items: Switchblade
Goals: Become a master at all martial arts
