Appearance: Daniel is a white male who stands at five feet and eight inches. He weighs about one hundred and sixty pounds. Daniel has dark brown hair that he usually keeps combed. His eyes are hazel. He wears glasses and rarely takes them off because he is near-sighted and needs them to see distances. Daniel does not have many overly defining features to separate himself from others, but he does have a scar on his right arm close to his elbow where he scraped his arm against a wooden handrail. Daniel’s attire consists mainly of jeans and dark t-shirts. Other than that he wears a pair of running shoes and a watch he was given when he graduated high school. In battle Daniel wears a pair of fingerless, leather gauntlets for a little extra protection. Note: These cannot be used to simply block attacks.
History: Daniel was born on Hagane Island, but when he was one his family moved to Golden Tiger Isle and they remained there for the next seventeen years, so it is there he calls home.
Daniel lived with his mother, father, and one older brother. His mother stayed at home and homeschooled Daniel and his brother. His father was a preacher and as such, he was able to come home more often than most fathers. Because of those things, the family was very close. Daniel considered his brother, Reuben, to be his best friend.
As they grew up on Golden Tiger Isle, both Daniel and Reuben became involved in a local martial arts school. Reuben specialized in the Tiger style while Daniel was better at the Monkey style. They both became very good at their respective styles, though Daniel was never able to take his brother down.
When they reached their teens, Reuben lost interest in the martial arts and began to focus more on his schooling. He had an interest in engineering and started working in that direction. Daniel, on the other hand, kept with the martial arts, though he too found another love. His was in writing. Daniel had always had stories playing about in his head and he wanted to write them down and share them with the world. So he started working on books. His first writings were lousy, but as time went on he began to improve.
Golden Tiger Isle was a place that was openly sympathetic with Revolutionary views. The only thing that had kept the World Government from blasting them to pieces was the fact that they had not supported any Revolutionaries with money or supplies.
Things came to a head when pirates arrived on the island. These pirates attacked the martial arts school Daniel attended and after a fierce battle, several pirates made it into the school’s storage area. Daniel hadn’t arrived for classes that day, but after learning about the battle, he ran over there to see what he could do. By the time he arrived the pirates had already pulled out, having stolen several ancient scrolls which had on them descriptions and illustrations of how to perform different styles. Daniel found his master’s dead body. His master had fought and killed about twenty pirates before finally going down under sheer weight of numbers. Beside the master were three style scrolls which he had managed to protect. They were the Monkey, Crane, and Cockroach scrolls. Daniel took the scrolls and started back for home to hide them, but as he was on his way, the World Government made their move. They bombarded the island and killed most of those who lived there. Their excuse was that they were simply trying to deal with the pirates, who had taken over the island.
Daniel survived the attack, but only just. He made his way back home to find his parents both dead. His brother had already left the island to continue his studies, so he at least was safe. Daniel continued to search the island, but he found no other survivors. Everyone he knew was gone.
Grief stricken, Daniel stayed on the island for several days by himself. For a while he was too numb to do anything, but at long last he pulled himself out of his stupor and made a decision. He would gather food and water and find himself a boat and leave the island. With this goal in mind, Daniel set about preparing. Two more days passed before he was truly ready. Most of that time had been spent finding a boat that was still able to sail. Pretty much all of them had been sunk.
At long last, Daniel set out on his own, taking with him the three style scrolls. He spent the next year sailing the seas. He met up with his brother for a while, but then left again. All the while he trained himself and tried to think of what he would do next. He had no intention of joining the Marines or becoming a Pirate. He hated both of those groups for what they had done to his home. He could have settled down and become a writer, and a part of him did want that, but he didn’t feel right about simply leaving things the way they were.
Personality: Daniel is a quiet person. This is mostly because he is shy, though his brother jokingly says that once you get to know him, he can talk your ear off. Daniel enjoys a good book and dreams of becoming a writer who will write the greatest story of all. He is also a very religious person. This does not mean he will try to beat someone down with religion, but he will also not hide what he is from people. Because of his beliefs, Daniel will not lie, curse, drink, smoke, have sexual relations outside of marriage, or approve of gays or abortion. He will not compromise on the aforementioned sins and will not let someone talk him into doing or approving of them period. Because of his strong convictions, Daniel is reliable and loyal to those he deems worthy of his respect.

Strength: Daniel is above average in strength.
Graceful Acrobatics: Daniel moves gracefully both in and out of battle. He is capable of jumping great heights and moving very quickly when he has too.
Martial Arts Styles: Daniel has practiced many different styles and knows the basics of several, but his specialty is the Monkey style followed by Crane.
Learned Techniques:
1. Monkey Fist: A basic, quick punch.
2. Wild Ape: Daniel performs a back flip directly in front of his opponent. While he is doing this, he aims his feet so that he will kick his opponent’s chin as he flips.
3. Simian Carnival: Daniel flips forward; plants both feet on his opponent’s chest and kicks off, launching them away from him.
4. Gorilla Grapple: Daniel jumps up behind his opponent and wraps his arms and legs around them as best he can to restrict their movement.
5. Crane Blaze: Daniel jabs rapidly at several of his opponent’s pressure points.
6. Iron Beak Defense: Daniel strikes the blunt edge of a weapon to knock it away from him.
