"Dark Lord" Mercury (retired)

"Dark Lord" Mercury was born on an island in South Blue. His father was a well-known Marine at South Blue and his mother was his father's Ensign. His father was very good at his job and was a believer of Absolute Justice. When Mercury was a baby his father was promoted to a Government agent while his mother followed him as well. As a result, the little child grew up in a family that taught him about Absolute Justice and about how the World Government was right.

At the age of 4 the little child started receiving training sessions from his father and his mother. Despite the fact that he did not want to, his father forced him to so that he would become a powerful agent of the World Government, even greater than himself that would be bringing justice to the world. In the begining the boy was training on all the kinds of weapons. However, his father soon realised that the weapon that suited him best was a hand blade. As a result, he created wooden hand blades for the child and gave them to him so that he would start practicing.

The following year, the young child was profficient at using the hand blades. Not only he managed to master their usage but he could move without having the feeling of carrying them. They were treated as an extention of his own body. That were the results of his training. This made his father proud of him and so he decided to inform his higher ups about the children's abilities so that he would receive some profficient training from good instructors to become a powerful agent of the World Government who would be fighting pirates.

As a result from that, the World Government took the child under its wing. They decided to train it to become a Cipher Pol 9 agent. In the first two years the young man was training his Soru. With that technique, he would be able to move swiftly and slash his enemies with his hand blades in no time. In the begining, the boy believed that it was practically impossible to learn it. After the first year, though, Mercury started mastering the technique and was able to move with super speeds...

After mastering Soru, the boy was sent to his first mission. At that time, he was eight years old. According to the Government, he would be a perfect assassin. He was a little child so nobody would be suspicious of him. More importantly, the boy would be easily manipulated and they were sure that it would not betray them, at least at that mission. And they were right. The young boy commited his first murder in the name of absolute justice on the king of a place who did not accept entering the World Government...

As soon as the young man completed his first mission, he returned back at the place where the CP 9 members were trainining. There, at that time he was taught how to perform Geppou. With Geppou, he would be able to move on the air and do many things that any ordinary person would not be able to. He would be able to have combat on the air and move easier. That was something he liked as well and so for the following two years he trainer and mastered his Geppou, while also training his Soru and creating new variations over the technique and his hand blades to cut down his enemies.

Some time after he mastered the technique that allowed him to move on the air freely, the member of the CP 9 was sent to another mission. At that time he was almost eleven years old. Like before, he was still looking like an innocent child and so he was still one of the best options of the government for an assassination mission. This time his target was an underworld boss who was known as "Dark Lord". According to the sources of the Government, he was gathering people to attack an island that belonged to the World Government and claim it as his own territory. The boy completed this mission successfully as well... But something happened that would have an impact on him in the future.

After he assassinated the underworld boss by infiltrating in his house, the boy happened to find his diary. Curious about what it contained, he picked it up and started reading. What he read changed his life forever. The diary was saying something about a Devil Fruit he found and how he would use it to take over the world. The fruit was no other than the Hei-Hei no Mi that would grant him the ability to create as many soldiers as he wished out of ground that would be fighting for him. That made the little boy interested and he decided to keep it and study it.

Over the years, the boy kept training itself on his blades, his Soru, his Geppou and his newly learned Rankyaku and on doing missions. The World Government started appreciating him for his efforts and he turned into a trusted member. He was told many secrets about the marines and the way they moved. However, the other Government agents could not see something that happened... Over the years and as he grew up, Mercury's personality got corrupted. After reading the whole book and learning exactly the plans of the "Dark Lord" the young man believed that it was the fate that brought the book to him and that he was the one who should continue the work of the Dark Lord to rule the world. Without the Hei-Hei no Mi he couldn't, though, and so he waited some more to get the fruit he wanted...

At the age of twenty, though, the young man finally found the fruit he had been looking for. The "Dark Lord"'s book was describing the fruit's appearance and so he could not fail at understanding that the fruit he found was the one he was looking for. However, there was a big problem. The fruit belonged to another member of the CP 9. As a result, in order to get the fruit Mercury assassinated him and escaped with the fruit. Afterwards, he ate the fruit and he escaped before anyone could notice him.

The next few days the man was hiding. He could see in the newspapers that he got a bounty for his action. With his betrayal, not only he caused significant damage to CP 9, but there was now a very big danger that the pirate would reveal secrets of the World Government. Because of the knowledge he had, the World Government placed him a bounty of 60,000,000 to start and he was treated as a very big danger from everyone...

In order to not be recognised, the man put on an armor he found. The armor was very weird, but he liked it very much. However, while wearing the armor the man started developping a split personality. He felt like he was one with the armor and so his evil side used to reside with the armor while he wore it. When he did not wear the armor, he would turn into a pathetic man without any fighting capabilities at all who was afraid of anything without an apparent reason.

After he wore the armor the man started making his move. As everything was based on the Dark Lord's plan, the man was using his Devil Fruit powers in order to create an army of powerful soldiers that would attack islands. He became a captain on his own ship and he started sailing across the Grand Line in order to take over a place and show his might to the world. His soldiers, who came out of his fruit were able to his his basic techniques such as his Soru, Geppou and his Rankyaku. However, the techniques were not mastered and the soldiers were getting destroyed with one or two hits.

With these powerful soldiers, Mercury, under the name "Dark Lord", got control of an island in the Grand Line. He named the island the Dark Empire and he used to reside there while he sent his minions that came from his Devil Fruit to attack various places. At that time, his bounty had increased to 100,000,000 beli, making him a very dangerous rookie who was a very big threat for the Government...

As a result, the Government organised an attack against him. With many of their forces, they attacked the place and took out his soldiers. Despite the fact that he created as many soldiers as he wished, in the end he lost to the World Government's army and was captured for good. His bounty was erased afterwards and he was sent in the fifth floor in Impel Down.

Because he had his weapons and his armor removed, Mercury's second personality, that ressembled a weakling came out. He started not being confident and since then he is living in the fifth floor of Impel Down, making his cell mates wonder why he is at that floor. Most of them torture him and believe that he is a pathetic who was accidentally sent to the floor and have pleasure at mocking him and hitting him. However, they do not know that once Mercury wears his armor and picks up his blades, he turns into the evil and merciless Dark Lord...

Maximillion freed Mercury from Impel Down. However, after the events of the Calm Belt, Mercury lost respect to Maximillion and so he left the crew, deeming him a loser and slightly changed his goals. He disappeared to an unknown island in order to train himself and return stronger and more prepared to succeed his goals.

Hei-Hei no Mi grants the user the ability to create soldiers out of ground. The creation process is easy. He can manipulate the ground into forming a soldier and breath to give life to it.

The soldiers do not have a mouth and have their own personalities, depending on the mood of the user when he created them. However, they can never be traitorous to the user and always obey him like they are his own soldiers to the point that they can sacrifice their own life to save him.

The appearance of the soldiers varies on the ground the user used to create them. Some of the soldiers may even have flowers on their bodies because the tile of ground that they were created on had a flower on it.

The battling styles of the soldiers also vary in the mood of the user when he created them. They may be offensive because the user was angered and had the desire to attack when they were created or they may be defensive because the user was afraid of something while creating them. However, their very basic techniques are the same on the person that created them. Depending on the situation a soldier has been through, their battling style develops and becomes much different than another soldier's making them differ very much from each other.

However, the soldiers have four great disadvantages. The first disadvantage is that they are easily destroyed. Two hits are more than enough to destroy them and turn them to dust.

Then, the second disadvantage is that the soldiers cannot develop their body physically by themselves and their maximum strength depends on the moment they were created by the user.

Moreover, if the user's powers are negated with sea-stone, the soldiers become immobilized.

Finally, the fourth disadvantage is that despite the fact that they have a human looking body and their very own personality, they are unable to make complex thoughts unless they are for something they know very well: Battling.

-Blade Slash: Mercury uses his hand blades to slash his enemies. His sharp hand blades can easily cut through the human body and other materials when combined with the man's super strength.
-Air Blade Slash: Mercury launches air blades from his hand blades towards his enemies, cutting them. The attack is as powerful as a Rankyaku.
-Soldier Guard: Mercury uses his Devil Fruit ability to create a soldier in front of him as a shield for any incoming attacks.
-Three Soldiers: Mercury uses his Devil Fruit ability to form three soldiers in front of him. Then, he breaths and gives life to them, making them fight for him.
-Instant Soldier: Mercury uses his Devil Fruit ability to form a soldier in front of his enemy from a short distance. Then, he breaths towards the soldier, giving life to him and the soldier attacks unexpectedly.
-Douzin Soldiers: Mercury uses his powers to summon twelve soldiers around him. The technique takes a while to use because it is difficult to create twelve of them. As soon as he is done, he is breathing and gives life to them. The technique is rarely used because it takes a while to be used in a battle.
