Overview: Life return is a special ability all its own, unique in that unlike the rokushiki abilities it was created with it does not inherently require superhuman strength, rather life return is complete control over ones own body, while the life return can control most any aspect of the users cells, this particular tree focuses on its most popular use; the manipulation of prehensile hairs, weather they are used to hold weapons and increase the users combat efficacy or as a weapon all their own the users hair becomes a extremely useful fourth limb with countless tiny appendages. Needless to say users of this technique tree will need very long hair to begin with.

History: The life return is a very unusual ability which focuses on total self mastery, it is said that one can unlock such a state by hours of meditation and intense physical training but it may be possible to learn this ability from other means. Though no standardized method or teaching the life return exists it is popular among the navy and world government officials, who typically face pirates with devil fruits. The most popular application for this ability, and the one this technique tree specializes in has always been hair manipulation, the ability to control ones hair being the prized and sought after use for life return for many of its practitioners.

Techniques:

Name: Basic hair control
Type: Life return
Description: The users control over their own body extends to their hair, able to cause their sense of touch to extend beyond the scalp and to the tips of their hairs and exert a small degree of control over their hairs movement, though it is exceedingly limited at this point.
Effect: At this stage all the user can really do with their hair is cause it to curl or straiten, this has no net effect on anything.

Name: stylistic hair control and hair sensitivity
Type: Life return
Description: the users hairs are now able to sense pain, this would not normally seem useful but enables them to “feel” solid objects with their hairs in a manor befitting antenna, though the control is exceedingly limited the user can decide when their hairs are pain sensitive
Effect: the user can style their hair at will how ever they like, even command it to fold itself to appear shorter which can serve a functional purpose if their hair is very long. The user can also command select hairs to stand on end and “feel” things, which enables them to sense something that may be invisible or silent with out touching the object with their hands.

Name: functional hair control and pressure sensitivity
Type: Life return
Description: the users hairs are now a practical extension of their body, they can command each hair as if it were a tiny appendage but are only able to coil, straiten, or wiggle these hairs, though still as easy to cut as normal hair and as brittle the hairs can support small objects by curling around them. The hairs also become pressure sensitive, able to feel push and pull as well as sense direction weight and movement of objects in addition to shape.
Effect: the user can store objects in their hair, such as a firearm and perform small tasks with it, such as pulling the trigger of said firearm, they cannot actually block anything with their hairs and heavy lifting is at this stage impossible but

Name: Limb level hair control
Type: Life return
Description: at this stage the user can lift objects that their hair would not normally support the weight of using their hair, though this is limited to about fifty percent of their physical strength and not their own weight, the hair is still very easily cut but can effectively catch light weight, slow moving objects with adequate timing
Effect: the user would be able to carry and swing a small to medium sized sword with their hair, provided it was long enough, the hair can become rigid enough to do this in some places and loose enough to bend in others

Name: Hair Temperature sensitivity (compete hair touch mastery)
Type: Life return
Description: The sense of touch extending to the hairs is now perfect, the user gains the ability to sense heat or cold with their hairs as well as pressure and pain, making the hairs sense of touch as accurate as any other part of the skin
Effect: The user can apply anything they would learn by touching an object with out the risk of touching it with their bare skin, but at risk to the hair

Type: Life return
Description: the user gains the ability to coil their hair in to locks with a greater textile strength, on par with rope, this is able to support the users weight
Effect: The user can support themselves or any object or group of objects weighting less than themselves with their hair

Name: Hands of hair
Type: Life return
Description: The user is able to shape their hairs in to functional hands, if long enough, these are, for all intents and purposes as skilled as their normal hands and just as strong
Effect: The user is able to lift anything they would be able to lift with more than two hair hands, the user is also able to perform techniques that would normally be done with bare hands using these hair substitutes

Name: Lengthening hair (minor)
Type: Life return
Description: a simple in concept but complex in execution method of temporarily extending the length of ones hair, the user commands the proteins in their hair and the cells in their scalp to produce more hair quickly, though this can temporarily increase the length of the hair up to three feet for a few hours (one thread) it will ultimately revert back to the way it was
Effect: the users hair can gain three feet of length for one thread before returning to normal.

Name: Hair color changing
Type: Life return
Description: A technique in which the user alters the level of melanin in their hairs using life return, causing them to change in color
Effect: used mostly with stylistic hair control in disguises

Name: Superhuman hair
Type: Life return
Description: The user can condense the coils in their hair and increase the proteins and natural oils in the hair to superhuman levels, the net result is hair that has a textile strength of metal cables, each hair itself being like fishing line
Effect: the user can block most blunt attacks with hair, simple punches and kicks wont phase them and the user can even repel a metal hammer with coils of hair. The hair can now exert a constricting force capable of choking someone.

Name: Lengthening hair
Type: Life return
Description: a more advanced stage of hair lengthening, the user can now grow their hair an additional six feet if needed but only lasts for a few hours before falling away back to its normal length
Effect: grants six more feet of hair length for a thread (six feet total, cannot be combined with the minor hair lengthening technique)

Name: Hands of hair (greater)
Type: Life return
Description: The user performs the hands of hair technique with more hair and at a greater level of textile strength, typically after extending their hair
Effect: The user’s hair hands are now more durable larger and stronger than normal hands, able to perform bare handed techniques better than the user’s own hands. For example a punch with greater hands of hair would do more damage than a punch with the users hands given that the user is of average human strength. The hands of hair are able to wield large weapons, perhaps larger ones than the user would normally be able to carry.

Name: Hair of iron
Type: Life return
Description: the user takes the strength of their hair to the highest point most life return users reach, every hair is as strong as a steel wire and the hair itself can parry even metallic edges in battle
Effect: enables the hair to avoid being cut by normal means, such as a sword slash

Name: Hair edge
Type: Life return
Description: using the hair of iron technique the user strengthens their hairs and makes every single point in a line of hairs touch, forming a solid edge which is sharper than even a well made katana, as its edge is a far narrower thickness, it can then be used to cut objects with the proficiency of a razor, though it is incapable of cleaving metals and runs the risk of getting stuck in materials, if the formation of hairs is disrupted the attack will fail
Effect: allows the user to make slashing attacks with edges made of hair

Name: Lengthening hair (greater)
Type: Life return
Description: The user has more or less mastered the art of hair growth with life return, able to grow hair out an astonishing ten feet for a few hours before regaining their normal length, at this point the user typically has to keep their hair up to avoid tripping over it
Effect: allows the user to gain ten total feet of hair for one thread (this is ten feet total, can not be combined with previous techniques)

Name: Hair storm
Type: Life return
Description: the user simply coils their hair in to cable like strands and spins their body forcibly whipping the hairs out in every direction at high speeds
Effect: a powerful technique for both offensive and defensive reasons, the user can strike multiple opponents with the equivalent of a metal whip at once and also bat away oncoming attacks from more than one direction, the disadvantage is that the user cannot keep their eyes focused on one thing in all the spinning and wavering hairs causing them to become disoriented for the following post, this technique is capable of taking out very large numbers of npcs
