David Jones (retired)

David was born in East Blue. Since he was a little boy he had a love for treasures. He seeked treasures from a young age and he was very cunning at solving puzzles and finding the clues to find them. As a result, he found many treasures on his home island in East Blue and made a name for himself as a good treasure hunter. However, that was something that resulted in a change of his life... Forever.

When David was around eight years old, some pirates that heard about him and about his great skills as a treasure hunter attacked his home island, searching for him. David would not let them take him, though and as a result he hid himself. However, that was a big mistake he made as the pirates were more than determined to get him. In order to get him out of his hideout they started slaughtering the people on his village and killing them one by one. Many friends of David died as well as his older brother. As a result, David finally got out of his hideout so that the pirates would not attack other people, too and surrendered.

The following four years were like a nightmare for the boy. The boy's talents were abused by the pirates who threatened that they would kill him and the rest of his village if he did not find treasures for them. Over these years, David made the pirates more than rich. Even the weakest member of them was richer after he used his talents. As a result, after these four years, the pirates disbanded the crew as they obtained wealth and dropped David on a desert island in order to die from starvation and loneliness.

Luckily for David, though, he was not alone on the island. There was a very old man with extremely long hair and a nice altitude. The old man helped the boy to set up a shelter there and the two of them started living together. They had a good relationship between them. However, most importantly, the boy showed his lust for revenge on the pirates on the old man by telling him what he dreamed of doing to these pirates. The old man sympathized with the boy and so he told him that he would help him get his revenge by training him and making him a strong fighter.

During the next six years they were on the island, the man trained the boy at the art of Life Return, allowing him to control his hair and use them as he liked. With Life Return, David was able to use his long hair in order to do simple chores most of the time. Something that benefited the boy was that his hair was very long and reached up his feet. However, as it would be difficult to move with so long hair, he used the Life Return abilities to gather the hair together and form a big afro on his head. That was how the man's appearance changed to his current one. However, the boy's mastery over Life Return is limited only at controling his hair and not at controling the rest of his body.

After these six years, David was lucky enough to be found on a marine ship. He and the old man were saved by the marines. David and the old man got separated afterwards, as the old man wished to return to his home, just like David wanted. As soon as he returned to his home, the man was welcomed by the villagers. They were all happy to see that he was back and that he was finally free. On the other side, though, despite the fact that David was happy for being back at his home he still wanted his revenge.

After staying at the village for a month, he decided to leave. The man was determined to move travel at the seas and search for the criminals that caused the massacre at his home. He wanted to punish them in his own way. Before leaving, David equiped himself. He placed many big rocks inside his big afro, as well as some steel plates and an Impact Dial that he found years ago in a treasure chest before he was kidnapped by the pirates.

Since then, the boy traveled in the seas. While searching for the pirates, he also searched for treasures and managed to find a few of them. The man was slowly getting richer and richer. However, these were not the only incomes he had. During his travels, as he was getting his revenge on the pirates, he gave them to the marines and got their small bounties. The man was something more than happy. He was not happy because he got the beli, but because he got his revenge and caught most of them by himself. That gave him the name of a bounty hunter and now people treat him as one. David liked that as he was respected with his bounty hunter status by people and kept working as a bounty hunter.

And now, David is sailing across the seas, searching for treasures and hunting pirates to get their bounties.

At first, David joined the Bounty Hunting Trio. However, after the Trio disbanded, he decided to retire as a bounty hunter and head off to an adventure as a Treasure Hunter.

Soon after he left from the Bounty Hunting Trio, David started his new adventure. While he was on an island, he received a map about a treasure. Following the clues one after another, David eventually managed to find that treasure. However, unlike the treasures that David had in his mind, the treasure was not gold nor diamonds. It was in fact one of those peculiar fruits, those strange fruits that people ate in order to acquire Devil-like abilities at the cost of their swimming ability. When David found the fruit, he carefully inspected it. He realized that it was a Devil Fruit and so he did not eat it. However, another incident was about to happen that would change his life forever...

While leaving from the island, David was under attack by some pirates who had heard that the man found a Devil Fruit. David put up a great battle against the pirates and he would defeat the weaker members easily with his powerful attacks. However, that would not apply for the most powerful members.

David is a cunning man who can see through the clues and always find the treasure he is seeking. He is kind, and prefers being quiet. When he is battling he is never naming his techniques to his enemies, believing that naming a technique does not affect the technique at all. He likes playing with kids and is rarely shouting. Also, he likes reading books about lost treasures. The thing he enjoys the most is searching for treasures. Also, he likes sleeping a lot that's why his moniker is "Sleepy". He likes training a lot as well, to grow stronger. That's why he is getting stronger and stronger faster compared to other people.
When he is with pirates, though, as a bounty hunter, he has to be cruel to his enemies. He cannot afford losing to his enemies and always tries his best to defeat them. He is willing to try cheap tricks to defeat them such as making them laugh or hitting them at their gender weak spots. However, despite that he is not cruel to the point that he will kill somebody for being a pirate. While defending himself, though, he might do that as there is no way to escape from his enemy.

-Struggle: David struggles his enemies with his long hair.
-Hair Punch: David surrounds the rocks and the steel plates he has inside his hair with his hair and punches his enemy with the mass. The punch is shift and strong as the rocks increase the ability.
-Hair Shield: David protects himself with his hair. Behind his hair, his Impact Dial secretly absorbs the damage and he makes his enemies believe that it's his hair that absorbs the damage.
-Hair Punch Assault: David shiftly performs countless Hair Punches with his hair in a few seconds.
-Hair Jump: David slams his long hair in the ground, giving force to himself to jump high.
-Hairicopter: While on the air, David uses his Life Return so that his hair will move like a helix. As a result, he can stay on the air for a while.
-Hair Blast: David surrounds his impact dial with his hair and unleashes the energy the weapon absorbed to his enemies.
