History: Diego was raised on the streets of Mock Town as a little child. His parents didn't feel like taking care of a child, to they abandoned him to the city forged by pirates. Diego was forced to steal food and water to survive. He even joined a gang of a poor orhans who had now where to live. Diego learned how to pick pockets, how to play cards, and learned how to steal food from the local shop keepers without getting caught. Because he was a thief, Diego had to become faster than the others so he could not get caught. The constant game of cat and mouse staying ahead of the local shopkeepers and running away from the people he robbed increase the strength of legs dramatically. Diego became the fastest on the island even out running the most experienced pirates. Though sometimes when Diego couldn't steal food, He would just beat up a drunk outside the bar, and take their alcohol. Alcohol was the only that made his stomach stop hurting from hunger (which probably lead to his drinking problem later in life).That was until one day, Kirsho, leader of the gang, schemed to steal one of the ships from the docks. Deep at Diego followed the gang to the docks where a brand new ship was being made. They crept upon the ship only to find out that a bunch of pirates already there trying to steal it. The pirates attacked the boys killing anybody they could grab. Diego was the only person to make it out alive by hitting a lighted oiled lamp upon one the pirate's face. The pirate was set on fire, and swung his sword wildly accidentaly cutting off Diego's left hand. The oil from the lamp spread the fire all over the ship lighting it up in mere seconds. All the pirates and the few remaining boys were burned alive. Diego was the only one to survive. Though Diego's problems weren't over yet. The Shipwright, Joe, had heard some noises coming from the docks and decided to investigate only to see his ship go up in flames. When he found Diego and recognized that he was one of the local thieves in the town, Joe wanted to beat the crap out of the ten year old boy. Diego begged him not to hurt him revealing his hand was cut off. Though Joe wanted to leave the kid to die for burning his ship, he took him the doctor. When Diego was patched up after a week in the hospital, Joe gave him an option he could work off his dept as his apprentice or pay him the 300,000,000 beli for his burned ship. Diego didn't have that kind of money, and since being an apprentice meant having a place to stay and food to eat he took the job. For the next five years Diego spent his life learning how to carve ships. He learned everything his master knew, and even became a decent shipwright despite missing an hand. Over the years Joe became a sort of big brother to Diego always keeping him out of trouble. He stopped Diego from stealing, and almost had him give up drinking. Joe wanted Diego to become a decent man making a honest day beli. When Diego was finally made a shipwright at the age of 19, he wanted to become a pirate seeing as being a honest man was too boring. Diego loved making ships, but he missed the thrill and excitement he use to have when he was a theif. Joe was furious to hear that, and threatened to beat him if he tried to leave. Diego gave Joe all the money he had saved up to pay for his dept ending the vow that binded him together. Joe was sad to see his lil brother leaving, and now couldn't do a thing about it. Diego promised they would be reunited again after he sailed around the grand line. With that the two brothers gave each one last hug before Diego's departure toward the grand line.

Personality: Diego is calm very laid back character who loves to eat and drink where ever he goes. He is rarely seen without a smile, and always wants to have a good time no matter how serious the situation. Though he can be violent when someone tries to take away his alcohol. In fact he got his name from his druken monkey martial arts which involves gestures of imitating of a drunken monkey. Diego also loves to gamble with dice and cards which often puts him in trouble with the local villagers gathering large amounts of depts. Despite his faults, Diego can easily become attached to often lending a hand to his friend or fighting to protect them since he couldn't save his old nakama. He also loves building ships since it reminds him of being with his brother. His stealing nature still hasn't him making him extremely greedy. Diego wants to collect all the treasures in the seas even one piece, the legendary treasure. He doesn't seek to become the pirate king rather he wants its monetary value. Diego's greed does not overshadow the love of his crew though seeing the as his greatest treasure. Stealing is just more of a hobby to him. Diego also has a dream to become the strongest man in the world just because he doesn't want people to pity him because of his lost hand. He hates it when people treat him differently. Deigo also is afraid of fire being tramatized as a little child.
