"I don't care if you're a whirlwind, hell I couldn't care if you were a whole fucking hurricane. I will defeat you!" said Iken.

Iken continued to block the Admirals attack with his very own whirlwind shield. The more Jiper attacked the stronger he made Iken as his sword absorbed the energy of the wind blade and whirlwinds impacts. Knowing a front attack wouldn't be the best option came up with a plan. Iken could see a big flaw in the Marines attack that left him open.

"Flash"

Uttering a word Iken disappeared to any human eye trying to track him. The only thing giving away was his position was a large explosion followed by the sound of rushing water. Directly above the Iken had drove his sword into the dome keeping out all of the devil fruit nullifying sea water. With ten times the energy of everything he blocked from Jiper Iken had enough power to destroy the dome plus some. However Iken controlled the energy release, only blasting a massive hole.

This caused the sea water to rush in again causing Iken to disappear only this time into the water. The water poured down at all below it including the Admiral who had little time to react. As the water got closer and closer Iken then again reappeared in front of it with his sword up above his head. Iken slashed downward at Iken with the power of the water behind him plus the strength he could muster plus all of the energy he had left from Jiper times 10.

Steet pirates

Sango and the steel pirates went upon the ship some had tears in their eyes. Others simply walked quietly in the ship. Sango used his den den mushi to contact Iken.

"Captain aren't you coming with us?! Aren't we going to the grand line together? Iken....Iken Iken. DAMMIT PICK UP!!!!!"

With his heart heavy, Sango and the others got upon their ship and sailed away before the buster call ships came leaving their captain.

JIPER

"I REMEMBER I TOLD YOU THERE IS NO WAY I WILL LET YOU BEAT ME! ALL OF THE PIRATES SHALL DIE HERE! I WILL NOT ALLOW MYSELF TO LOSE TO THE LIKES OF YOU! SHICHIBUKAI GAEL... SHICHIBUKAI WALLY... AND YOU ROOKIE SCUM...YOU SHALL ALL DIE HERE, EVEN IF I SINK THIS PLACE WITH MYSELF INSIDE! I AM A MARINE ADMIRAL! YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE FROM HERE BY YOURSELVES!" were the words of the Admiral to everyone who happened to be around. He watched at the massive way that was coming from above him. There was a few time for him to dodge. However, Iken did not know that Jiper was the fastest Soru user. His Soru mastery had reached levels that had exceeded long time ago what the other Rokushiki users called Soru Mastery. He said "Soru!" as he dodged at the last second the wave as well as Iken's sword attack and run away to a building. He said "Damn... This rookie is not an ordinary one...". The Admiral managed to survive at the last second. If he was not that fast, he would probably have taken a great amount of damage. He was glad he was okay. Seeing the wave landing on the ground and Atlantis sinking, the admiral decided to become serious. He whispered "Whirlwind Line..." from his previous position and appeared right behind Iken in an instant, with all of his fingers pointed towards the pirate. He would launch a barrage of his signature whirlwind beams that were capable of piercing through steel easily... Even if Iken managed to deflect one of the beams with his sword, there was no way to deflect ten different ones at the same time...

At the meanwhile, at the sea's surface, somewhere next to Atlantis... Ten marine battleships approach. On five of them, there are five Vice Admirals... "It's about time we go underwater!" one of them says and the ships vanish. The coated warships started heading towards Atlantis...

MAXIMILLION

Meanwhile, Maximillion was surprised with all of the strange things that seemed to happen around him...

((Clutch Rocky Horror reference there, Gore. Hehe...))

Nearly falling over as the fragile tendrils of venom along which he was racing at barely sub-sonic speeds were shaken to tatters, Vince turned back to look up at the recent explosion, the place where the dome had been ruptured for the second time in this entire ill-conceived melee. There was, however, no towering red structure to catch and contain the overflow this time, nobody to stop the flood. At this rate, the Buster Call would arrive to find their work already done.

Somehow, even with a the threat of impending doom literally hanging over their heads, the people here couldn't quite grasp the direness of their situation. Even as dense as he was himself, Vince couldn't begin to comprehend this stubborn, unyielding persistence on all sides. Win or lose, right or wrong, just or un, the war was past it's end; it had started past it's end. At this point, the rear admiral doubted he was needed anymore. Still, if he could speed this bull-headed conflict to it's end even just one second faster, he'd be a bit more satisfied.

"In the beginning, it was all about that ship..." Vince griped to himself, wishing he had just sped along towards the ship. How many people of how many factions with how many goals towards how many agendas were there competing down here? Even the powerful thinking-machines in his head couldn't work out a reasonable guess. The number was, regardless, incalculably larger than it needed to be.

Turning slowly a full 360 degrees, Vince scanned over what was left of the fighting, what remained to be resolved of the battles, counted and compared the headcount now to what it had been earlier. Many had departed since the fight's start; whether they'd fallen or left he didn't bother to count. Still, as it were, a lot remained to be done. It came down to this, ultimately: pick a conflict, resolve it, and move on.

"Eenie...meenie...mienie..." Vince pointed towards a skirmish, vanishing off along the remains of his toxic network. Before long he closed in on the battle, appearing on it's outskirts, observing and waiting for a chance to act decisively, surgically. Still pointing, he spoke a final word as he waited for the way.

"Moe."

((Anyways, Nikz, I think this thread is suffering from "Bloat Fatigue". When a single thread has this many people, all mixed up in different places and different sob-bloats, it can very rapidly slow down a hault. Especially so when, as seen here, many individual incidents have an outcome dependent on that of another. The inevitable outcome is similar to what we have here; while Path's combat is the biggest hitch right now, it's by no means the only one.

A good way to jumpstart this is to take stock of everybody who's involved in something that isn't resolve yet, make a list, and make a post. Figure out who's still interested in playing things through to the end, and have them all sort them out into their own private threads. The main, or central, plot remains and progresses here, while everyone else independently resolves their conflict and progresses towards the central plot, at which point they rejoin this thread.

Not the only way, but it seems like it might work. I'll leave it up to all y'all fine folk who organized this shindig to decide on it, but ultimately the status quo needs to be changed a bit.))

Iken knew that Jiper was behind him the instant he appeared there for two reasons. First with Iken's super sense of smell he could smell him coming the second thing that gave him away was his blind speed. Jiper appeared behind Iken which was directly under the torrent of water coming in from the dome. The sea water drained Jiper of his strength and speed that he was used to. Normally Jiper's attack power and speed would have been enough to deal Iken grave damage, but with his standing under a torrent of sea water Jiper's attack was sub par. Spinning around on he heels Iken slash the 10 blades of air with his Rejection Slayer taking in what power the offered.

"Namikaze Sword Style: Ultimate Flash"

Iken disappeared from view only to appear a distance behind the Admiral lowing his sword. As he did everything from Iken's staring point to his finishing point was slashed into chunks as an explosion of energy with 10 times the power of Jiper's 10 wind blades added onto Iken's already super power slashes occurred around the area Jiper was.

"You maybe faster than me, but it does you no good when you can't control it or it's weakened from seawater." Iken said in a calm tone.

The ten Buster Call ships seemed to be making pretty good headway... that is, until one ground to a halt, and began going in reverse. A long, stretchy object had attached it to something in the murky depths, and it was being drawn in irresistably. It vanished into the darkness, and soon after wards, another began falling down. The Buster Call's numbers were dwindling quickly, in an alarmingly silent fashion. The second had vanished now, and now Vice Admiral Dogman's ship was being dragged in.

((In what way does compartmentalizing the conflicts cause the war to drag on longer? The main storyline remains here, focusing on the event central to this entire war (or the event most central to the thread now, as everybody already at the Oro Jackson all seem to have quit posting). In the meanwhile, the sub-threads will be clutter free, able to be resumed each at their own pace, with no given one slowing down the storyline if one or more involved members quit. Finally, because the threads are separated, there is a greatly reduced likelihood of spillover from one conflict to another. This means that individual conflicts resolve more quickly.

Huge threads like this have an overwhelming tendency to become, in a word, "cluster___ed." This seems like it might be happening here. If each and every sub-plot is individually resolved, with those continuing in the arc returning here after they have been so, you end up with several smoothly running threads, a few dead threads (which would tie up this thread with their inactivity if not removed and left to die on their own) and an eventual, convergent resolution.

If you don't like this idea, it's one thing, but I can't begin to imagine how it would prolong the war, since the main storyline marches on no matter who's jumped ship.))

((Well making multiple threads of the war would be a good idea.....If it was made at the beginning of the war arc not towards the end. Also we're in on area and spillover from other fights just happen it would be the same IRL if there were a crap ton of different battles going on. To be honest the different threads wouldn't have solved a thing considering the person that slowed it down would have slowed down most if not all of the other threads too. The last point is, that it would just plain confuse people that had missed a lot of the war and confuse them some more.))

((Right, spillover would happen IRL, but this is IC and we have control over it. By preventing spillover - however realistic it would be for it to occur - we expedite battles. Conflicts resolve faster when new players aren't constantly falling into them.

The thing is, if any given separate thread is slowed down or dies, that's okay, and I've already said as much; the main story is allowed to progress unhindered. Let's say we split this into four threads, and two died; those two dead threads represent a number of other players who would have been slowing down this one and are now weeded out of it. Any active players from those sub-threads that die are welcome to migrate back to the main plot.

As for confusing people that are new to the war, this is a forum; the archive of what's happened exists, and they're as free to read it as I was when I came in on like page 20. If anything, because the sub-plots are separate, they have less back-reading and less confusion, since they only have to follow what's going on in the thread that they're in. If they don't want to read back a few pages to get a feel for the action, they'd be confused anyway.

Anyways, all this OOC spam isn't helping. I gave a suggestion, and you're free to dislike it, but your points don't bear much weight given the reality of the situation. As anything I say ever is, it's simply my view on matters. If Nikz, Gael, or anyone else involved thinks it'll help, I hope it will. If they don't and wish to proceed with the status quo, I hope that works too.

In the mean time, no matter what solution is chosen, this thread needs more RP and less OOC.))

James

“Oh forget it,” James said, turning his back on Wally. “You just stay down here and get yourself killed by the Buster Call.” Waving over his shoulder, James stalked off.

(Since this thread isn’t going anywhere right now, the Aurora Pirates are pulling out.)

Tero

Tero was back at the Pheonix Squad ship getting himself fixed up by some of the field doctors. He had found a group of Atlantean who were apparently trying the escape the city and he ahd left the children he had found with them. After that, it was simply a matter of returning to the battlefield. He wondered how the war was going. He hadn’t done or seen all that much in the time he had been out.

Gavin

Gavin slipped downstairs into the bottom of the Pirate King’s ship. He felt around for a weak spot and when he found one, he smashed a hole in it with his guitar. Water began gushing in and Gavin had to run back up to the main deck. As he went, he felt an overwhelming sadness and acceptance. What was going on?

As Gavin sprang back to safe ground, he turned to watch the ship sink. Tear sprang unbidden to his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away. Why was he crying? The ship was sinking. No one could use it as a figurehead any longer. He had done his job This was for the best, wasn’t it?
