Name: Esther von Rosberg
Age: 18
Bounty: none
Species: Human
Occupation: witch (wannabe. Yeah, I know...), scientist (kinda)
Allegiance: Marine/World Government
Home Village/Ocean: Mariejois, Red Line
Appearance: Esther is kind of a cutie, with her long, dark brown hair and big, gray eyes. She also has freckles on her pale skin brightening her smile even more. She's pretty small for her age, standing at about 5'2'', something that bothers her a bit.
Her clothes.... attract attention. She always, always wears a short dress and a cape, either in dark shades or in fall colours like red or brown. She only has one pointy hat, and she wears it all the time. It's old, rugged, and it has holes in it. It's also creepy, and a little to big for her...
Her shoes are less creepy, but jst as pointy. They're long boots going up to just above her knees. She also has a bag which she keeps all her stuff in. It's not very practical in combat, but she doesn't take it off. There's too much valuable stuff in it.
Her pet, Ebony, the cat, is often found sitting on her lap or lazing around close by. It's a very loyal cat.. It also talks to her...
History:
Esther von Rosberg is a world noble. Or at least half a world noble. Her father actually married into the family. He's a lesser noble from South Blue, and so he went against tradition and took on his wifes name instead of giving her his.
It was a marriage solely for the cause of business: Her father got a high post in the world government, and her mother didn't have to deal with getting married anymore.
Sometimes, Esther wondered how she actually came to be when her father was always out working... well, anyway, she did. And her father loved her.
Whenever he was home, he spoiled her rotten. Even though he didn't exactly drop his strict, military behaviour around her, she still knew he loved her.
He bought her anything she wanted, just like her cat, Ebony, who she soon got bored of and told him she wanted it to be more interesting. So he took it to the scientists of the world government... who enhanced it with a little iq... she found it hightly interesting afterwards.
After all, who had a cat that they could talk to and ride on if they felt like it?
When she was five, she met her cousin Theodore for the first time. She was told he was a bad boy who she should stay away from.
All she knew was that thanks to him, her father was home all the time! He spend all his time with him though... it made her a little jealous, and she soon started to really hate Theodore.
She didn't understand why he was here, or what he was going through. But she did know that the kid with the glasses was stealing her dad!
She made his life harder at any chance she got. When she didn't, she was mostly talking to Ebony, and sometimes she went down to Shabondy Archipelago to go shopping. She was never alone, of course. Her mother and bodyguards were usually with her, as well as Ebony, and a number of slaves.
When she was six, she learned how to read. When she was seven, she started reading books, and got quiet fascinated with witches. It was only the fascination little kids had for something. Nothing serious.
She also couldn't help but get in contact with Theodore. Mostly, she was a little girl asking, in the curiousity of little girls, what he was doing, why he was so bad, where his parents were... the stupidest things. And he was the annoyed teen who always ended up telling her nasty lies or snapping at her. Later, though, he always came to her and apologised, and she'd stretch her arms out, and he'd give her a hug. And everything would be well again.
When she turned nine, Theo left their family and joined the marine soo nafter. It made her little girl heart very sad... after all, she had started to actually like him.
Things went back to normal soon. Except they didn't. Esther, who was now alone again, except for a talking cat an a few slaves, went on to find herself a most curious hobby: witchcraft.
Her parents thought nothing of it. After all, she was just a little girl playing around, right?
One day, when she went shopping again, she found something that awoke her interest. It was an old, ragged, pointed hat. It looked like a witches hat, and so she didn't stay quiet until her mother bought it for her, in spite of the merchants warnings.
After that, she was changed. It was a slow change, and not very apparent, but it was there nontheless. Somehow, she became... more capable. At the time she was eleven, it was clear she had certain abilities. Knowledge. Her parents thought she was a girl genius, and they immeadeatly got her a private teacher who would teach her about science, literature and history eight hours a day.
She hated most of it, but got interested in science soon. Not because she liked it, but because she had come to see that with science, she could maybe be able to create witchcraft.
When she was sixteen, her father got her to join the world government. She did so under one condition: she wanted to work with the marine. Maybe she'd see Theo again this way. But more importantly, she'd actually get to test her witchcraft in combat! Against pirates! Like in stories!
And so, she started working for the good side.
And she did get to meet Theo again, though it was slightly different from what she had imagined.
She had been chasing pirates in a town when suddenly, he walked up to her all cool like and told her he had already taken care of things. He had. God, how she hated him for it! Stealing her adventure!
She didn't know who he was, and he didn't know who she was, after all, he had seen her last when she had been nine years old.
So, being Theo, he hit her on directly. She was kind of flattered, and kind of nervous, and stuttered her way out of the situation. That made him angry. He grabbed on to her arm and looked really mad.
After all, he was used to getting what he wanted!
In that moment, she was really scared.
