Name: Jace Ichiro
Age: 24
Bounty: 43,700,000
Species: Human
Occupation: Fighter
Allegiance: Pirates; Dire Desperados
Home Ocean/Village: East Blue/Ringo Island
Appearance: A large man, about six feet and three inches tall. He has short, dark blue hair and violet eyes. He is greatly tanned from spending so much time training out under the sun. He is large and heavy, but not from fat so much as muscle. His entire body is layered in it, giving him an almost ‘stupid muscle-headed minion appearance’. He wears a black flak jacket, camouflage shorts and black combat boots. His flak jacket is sleeveless and he keeps it closed on the front at all times. According to him, there’s no point in wearing something for protection if it doesn’t actually protect you and anyone who leaves a jacket like that one open just to show off their muscles is an idiot who is asking to get shot. Jace also has ankle and wrist weights that he wears on a daily basis to build up his arm strength. He keeps the arm weights on in battle to give his punches more force behind them. The ankle weights he also keeps on as well; though this is more because he treats every battle like another training session.
History: Jace was born and raised on Ringo Island. He had a good life there. Both his parents were alive and healthy and both of them worked, having decent jobs. This meant that they were well off, but it also meant that Jace was left at home on his own a lot. His mother's parents lived on the island as well, so he stayed with them quite often when he was younger.
When he was eight years old, Jace and his parents went to a park. They had gone to this particular park plenty of times before. So, as might be expected, Jace’s parents didn’t think anything of just letting their son go and play without watching him much. Some of Jace’s friends were there and they dared him to go into the park’s nearby forest. Being a little arrogant, Jace took the dare and went straight in. At first he was hesitant, but seeing that there was nothing to the forest, Jace went further and further in. Twenty minutes later he decided to go back, but soon realized that he had no idea where he was. He hadn’t really been paying attention and had made several major turns. The park could be in any direction for all his knew. So he began looking for the way out.
Three days later, Jace was still in the forest and he was getting very hungry. He had tried not to eat anything because he had been afraid that he might bite into something poisonous. Well, his growling stomach was driving him crazy and he happened upon a fruit, the likes of which he had never seen before. Unable to resist his hunger, Jace simply picked it up and ate it. As it turned out this was a devil fruit, and it saved his life. Jace gained the power to turn into a bear. In his full bear form he found that he gained the creature’s own instincts and he knew how to hunt, fish, and what berries were good to eat. But that wasn’t all that changed. Jace found that he became angrier a lot easier. It was almost like there was a bear inside of him roaring to get out. (This has been explained further during actual RPs. Jace is naturally bloodthirsty and according to the One Piece Wikia, those who eat carnivorous zoan fruits are more aggressive. Technically a bear is an omnivore, but those guys can go crazy too. So combine that with Jace’s bloodlust and you get a psychopath in the body of a child.) Jace spent a further two weeks out in the forest before he finally found his way out of the woods and went back home. He returned to his human form before his parents saw him and he never told them of his ability, fearing that they would reject him.
When Jace was sixteen, he decided that he wanted to make a name for himself and he became a boxer. He trained hard for three years before finally fighting in the ring for the first time. Due to his size and strength, he was naturally better than most of the men he encountered, even with all their years of experience. He did not, however, use his devil fruit. He realized that it gave him too much of an advantage and besides, he had kept it secret for this long and had been fine without its power, so there was no point in scaring people. He did well as a boxer on his home island and then began traveling around, fighting people on other islands. Word spread quickly of his accomplishments. This went on for five years without a hitch. A man came into the middle of a boxing match with a gun. He was planning on robbing the place. Jace tried to stop him, but then the thief fired on him. The bullet missed, but it was more then enough to scare and anger Jace. The bear inside finally surfaced. Jace flew into a rage, transformed into his bear hybrid form, which up unto this point he didn't even know he had, and he killed the man with a single blow. As Jace had predicted, this scared people, and he was expelled from his boxing league. Their excuse was that he was cheating by using his powers in a fight. They had no way to prove this, but he could not disprove it either. In shame, he returned home to his family, who by this point had heard the news. At first they were angry that he had not told them of his power and he apologized, but they quickly forgave him, understanding the reasons for his fear.
Back at home, life was good for Jace once again, but he was not satisfied. He still wanted the world to recognize his power. Since he couldn’t do it as a boxer, he would just have to do it another way. Finally, Jace came to a decision as to what he would do. He left home again and set sail, hoping to become a pirate.
To accomplish this, Jace decided that first getting a bounty would be a good idea. He attacked a couple of Marine groups and wounded a bunch of men. He didn't kill anyone though, not at that point anyway. Ever since his first kill Jace was afraid of unleashing the bear inside of him again. He feared its rage more than any opponent he had ever faced. Since beating up on some minor Marines had not earned him a bounty, Jace next attacked a Marine convoy, which was taking supplies to their troops in Rogue Town. Jace damaged the convoy and wounded a Marine captain before disappearing again. Finally he got the bounty he wanted. It wasn't high, but it was enough. For now.
Much more recently, Jace has joined the Dire Desperados. He did this because he did not want to be a captain and saw them as an opportunity to be a part of a strong crew. Since joining them, Jace’s bounty has risen significantly. He has figured out that the bear inside of him did not come from the fruit he ate so much as his own self. He has since become better at controlling his bloodlust, though he still has some trouble with it at times.
Personality: Under most circumstances, Jace has two faces: 1. He is deadly serious and deals with what needs done at the time. 2. He is angry or has given into his bloodlust, both of which essentially are the same thing, and he is trying to tear someone apart. He cares for very few people and respects even fewer. He mainly deals with people only because he has too, not because he wants to. If he ever does make a friend he will be loyal to them forever. He's just the kind of guy who prefers animals to humans. Jace hates not being in control of himself. As such, he harbors a great dislike for things such as drinking or smoking. To him they are idiotic, pointless activities that ruin otherwise good people through their addictiveness.
Ship:
'The Crisis' (The Dire Desperado's ship)
Flag: A bear skull with claws poking around the sides.
Devil Fruit:
Kuma Kuma no mi: Model GrizzlyType: Zoan
Effect: Allows the user to turn into a grizzly bear or a grizzly bear hybrid.
Special Abilities:
Great Strength: In his natural form, Jace has immense physical strength. So much so, that he can overcome most normal humans with his fists alone, let alone with his kuma fruit abilities.
Endurance: Jace can take a hit. He's been knocked down more then once in his life time, both while in training and after he became a professional boxer.
Speed: As a boxer, Jace learned to be quick on his feet. He cannot run at high speeds, but rather in short bursts to move towards and around his opponent.
Learned Techniques:
1. Nature Force: A powerful forward punch that can break bones.
2. Greatest Impact: By punching the ground, Jace shatters it and sends out a shockwave that can knock someone over, but doesn't do much damage.
3. Sky Splitter: This is an unusually strong uppercut where Jace crouches all the way to the ground and then punches upward, while moving back up to jump at high speed. The force of this punch is enough to send the opponent flying thirty feet in the air.
4. Grand Slam: Jace pulls his arms back to his sides and then punches forward with both fists at the same time. This is not as powerful as Nature Force, but it is slightly more widespread so it is not as easy to block.
5. Opening the Door: Jace dodges around an opponent’s attack at such a speed that his body momentarily becomes a blur. Then he throws a strong punch at his opponent.
6. Fake Out: Jace first throws a punch, which is actually a feint, and then he throws a second punch, which is the real attack. In most cases the two punches are aimed at different parts of the opponent’s body so that Jace can use the first punch to draw their defenses away from the real attack.
Weapon:
Brass Knuckles
Goals: To become strong in this world. A man who is respected by everyone.
