Serious : Red Heart Pirates [pt.1] : The Pirate Town

Van was getting tired. Eating a nice meal after a fight, makes a guy tired.

"I wonder if Theres a good place to nap."he thought.

Van looked around for a while. He found a bench.

"Het, I'm a pirate, I'll take it." He said, lying down on the bench and putting his hat on his face. Slowly falling asleep.

One the way, Nabie spotted one of the two fighters she saw earlier. He was sleeping on a bench with his hat on his face. The only reason Nabie recognized him was because she remembered his clothing. She debated whether to wake the man up and directly ask him to join or leave him alone. "Excuse me," she kicked the bench lightly. "Want to join?" It wasn't really a question. She wasn't going to accept a no for an answer, but she thought she would say it in the form of a question to be not so rude.

Van woke up abruptly.

"Hmm, wha? Join what?" He asked, confused,

"And who're you?" He asked

"Nabie of the Red Heart Pirates," the girl answered. "I saw you fighting earlier with the other guy. Wanna join my crew?"

"Pirate crew, huh?" Van thought.

"Alright, I don't see why not." He said, standing up.

"Well then, what are we up to now?" he asked

"Well, now we're going to find that other guy you were fighting. Here, hold this for me," Nabie said, handing Van the large bag of belli. "I want you to find him and convince him to join. I'll go get the ship."

Van looked at the bag.

"I don't like where this is going. But Alright." He said,

"But why the money?" he asked

"Bribe him if you have to and go ahead and buy some supplies if you need," Nabie gave Van a thumbs up for good luck and left to find a ship.

At the harbor, she found her waver with the jet dial. She dragged the waver on land and searched for a nice big ship to take.

Van shrugged. If the captain gave orders, he had to follow. He took the bag of money and walked back into the town.

"If I find him, he might want to fight, I should lay low."he thought.

Ajax was leaning against a wall, smoking and watching the people pass by. Some of them, he recognised from bounty posters, in which case his fingers started to twitch, the only thing telling how he felt inside. But no, no unnecessary fighting.
He still hadn't gotten over that one. On his way here, he had found a bounty poster of his target. He had taken it with him, just to make sure he wouldn't miss her.
He looked at it once more. Damn, was she pretty. If it wasn't for her being his target, he'd probably try and ask her out. (Her being a pirate didn't matter as much. Come on, as long as she's pretty...)
But his mission and a look at her bounty reminded him that it wasn't a good idea.

Van snuck around, the money under his coat. He looked around until he found Ajax. After a while, he found him.

"I could go after him. Or I could take the money and run. But I am kinda tired." he said, yawning. He decided to go for it.

"You there, the smoking man. My captain wishes to join her crew." he said, holding a bag of money.

"This could be yours."

Damn! Why him? Why did the world want to test him so much?
He clenched his fist for a second, before relaxing. No fighting.
He looked at the money, then back at Slycers face.
"Maybe I'm not interested in your money. Maybe I'm, say, looking for someone special here...."
He waved him off.
"And I doubt she'd take you in her crew. Nah, not that one. I mean, why should she, right? So no, not interested."
And again, he resumed staring at the people. He couldn't help but let his frustation out, and now he wasn't allowed to fight, he'd have to do it through words.

"Maybe she would take me in her crew." Said Van, with a sly grin,

"Perhaps you know this woman, maybe she is your target." He held up the bag of money.

"I believe her name was, Nabie. She wants you to join her crew. To which I am the first member." he said.

Ajax acted all cool. His hands, though, shook slightly when he took the cigarette out of his mouth and blew the white smoke into the air.
"Hmmmm..... Well, let's see..."
He searched in his bag for a slightly longer time than he'd actually have needed, then pulled out the poster.
"Well, would you look at that. Nabie, the thirty million head. The drug maker."
He smiled a sly smile, his sunglasses hiding his real expression.
"...Hmmm, what do you say you bring me to her? You know, just to make sure..."

"Like hell." he said.

"But wait, if I get him there, and refuses to join, I'll have to use drastic measures." he thought.

"On second, I'll do it." he said. Walking to the docks.

"Thank you."
He hated thanking people!
But as he followed Van Slycer to the docks, where he'd hopefully meet that rare beauty.. oh, and also subject of his mission... he knew for sure that his face was perfectly straight, his anger hiding behind his sunglasses and a cloud of smoke.

She finally found a large ship that she liked. "This one looks nice," she mumbled to herself and boarded the ship. "I don't know who's ship this is, but I guess it's mine now." Nabie gently placed her waver on its side and climbed up to put up her flag.

Van got to the docks, leading Ajax. He spotted Nabie on on of the ships.

"Well, she's on that ship." he said, jumping aboard,

"He's here, Nabie. And he seemed to be looking for ya."

Ajax jumped up on the ship. He knew it from somewhere, but couldn't really remember from where... Well, it couldn't have been to important then!
He looked up to the woman. On this distance, he couldn't make out her features, but she looked promising.
He chose to remain silent for the time being.

Nabie jumped down from the pole and cringed from the impact. "Oww..." she laughed. "Alright, then. Welcome you guys! I say we should head towards the Grand Line. How about it?"

Ajax took out the poster, held it up next to her face, and started looking from one to the other.
Then, with a slightly more content on his face, he stuck it back into his bag and stepped forward, smiling and bowing slightly.
"Are you Nabie, the pirate? I'm sorry, but I really have to make sure not to sail off with the wrong person first. Even though I'd accompany you everywhere, of course."
During the last bit, he looked her up and down, finally his eyes stuck on her face. Ladys always liked compliments. At least most of the ladies he'd met.

"Then I guess we're off on an adventure." Said Van putting the bag of money on the ground and sitting down.

"Wak me when somethin happens. Haven't gotten any sleep all day." He said falling asleep.

"Yep, I'm Nabie," the girl greeted. "Haha, thank you for the compliment." Unlike others, she was indifferent when it came to compliments. Her loves were gambling and alcohol afterall.

Off in the distance, Nabie spotted a large number of marines heading toward the harbor. 'It looks like this is their ship,' she thought to herself. 'Did they find out that we were taking the ship or are they just coming back to set sail?'

"It looks like we have company," she mumbled, pointing out the crowd of marines walking up to the ship and waking Van up. It didn't seem as though they had a leader or anything.

"Oh damn!"
They came after them? Why, had he forgotten his toothbrush at the hq?
No, it was there in his back. He had checked it.
"So what're we going to do, captain Nabie?"
At least now he knew why this ship looked familiar...
Maybe he could talk to them. He had his orders in his back, signed and everything. Then again, nah. They deserved some punishment for forbidding him to fight.

"I would rather avoid conflict, but this is a good chance to see what my crew can do," Nabie announced. "We'll make this a competition. Let's see how many we can take down in five minutes. After five, I'm setting sail."
