| Crew Name: Tarai Vengeance Captain: Salvat D. Jocar Flag: a red halo divided up into three curved arrows on a dark blue background; at the center is a falchion and a hook crossed together. Ship: Humbolt Wing; (is a description required?) Side: Pirates Current Members: • Salvat D. Jocar • Crut Hakiji • Grovire Raile • Stickleback Johnstoni • Brewmaster
Crew Goals: To overthrow the World Government, abolish the slave trade and retake the Tarai current
Crew History: Long before the World Government took the Tarai current as their method of moving across the oceans, there existed a clan of nomadic fishmen who followed the current's flow all their lives, isolated from Fishman Island; This clan sported some uniquely evolved fishmen, adapted to life on the move. Then, the World Government purged the clan, either killing or enslaving most of the fishmen, completely destroying the nomadic clan and their heritage. Or at least they thought they did.
Salvat and Crut broke out of their slave camp at a young age, and spent a few years traveling to Fishman Island; Salvat and Crut trained extensively, preparing for the coming plan of retribution. One day, they ran (swam, to be direct) into a young but evidently angry and extensively bruised and injured sea king, which proceeded to attack them. Salvat and Crut used their hard earned skills to bring the beast down, but instead of finishing it, they nursed it back to health; it seemed that this sea king was attacked off the coast of a country known as Wano by something….savage. Regardless, they named the sea king Davey, Salvat recognizing a sea king to be a valuable asset to their team if trained right. While it took some time, Davey warmed up to the two, and they continued to train together.
One day, 5 years after reaching Fishman Island, Salvat had just finished looking out for any usable vessel, or a carpenter to craft them one; he brought news to his two comrades concerning a cursed fishman, entitled as the ‘Accursed Architect’. From what Salvat had gathered, none of the Fish people spoke any good of him. Not batting an eyelid despite the vicious rumours, Salvat and his two allies made for the last known location of the architect; the Shabondy Archipelago. Salvat snuck into the 5th grove of the archipelago, and discovered a Tenryuubito making temporary residence there. In here, he found a broken creature; a miserable fishman with a semblance to a flying fish. Salvat identified the cursed architect as Grovire, and asked him to join the Tarai Vengeance, and construct a vessel for them.
Grovire laughed weakly, and refused. Irritated, Salvat knocked Grovire out by force, and carried him out in a hurry. The next thing he knew, a whole battalion of marines were chasing them down; Grovire woke, and weakly explained that he was the slave and contractor of one of the Tenryuubito, and by taking Grovire, Salvat had marked himself for termination. Salvat simply gave him a debonair smile, and kept running. Reaching the edge of the Archipelago, Salvat faced off with the many marine troops surrounding them. Grovire chastised Salvat for saving him, then explained bitterly that he was one of the fishmen who betrayed the Tarai Nomads exact location, and that he should have no right to be rescued. Salvat reprimands Grovire while fighting off many marines, telling Grovire that the greatest crime of all was not trying to fix the wrongs of his past using his skills. Then a marine wielding axes arrives, and fights Salvat one on one. Grovire watched the young fishman, not budging an inch towards the water; when Salvat is defeated and floored, Crut intervened, blasting the area with heavy water cannon barrage, while Davey snatched Salvat and Grovire to safety. Salvat weakly demanded the axeman’s identity; he responded with a name: “Jessop” and walked away.
After escaping, Grovire explained why he was cursed; he had eaten a devil fruit, and was unable to enter the water. Seeking out a plateau of rock extending from the sea, Salvat got to training, and sneaking into human islands, gathering information. Meanwhile, Crut, Davey and Grovire got to constructing a ship; Salvat’s plans for the ship’s design as usual ended up being too grand and ambitious. So Crut and Grovire mutually agreed upon a vessel that could move swiftly and silently. So after months or so of gathering materials from other islands, spying on Marine fleet movements and stealing a few spare weapons, the ship was completed, and they began to tackle slave trading posts and lesser Marine outposts. At one particular slave camp, they freed many merfolk, most of them being mermaids, a few humans and many other species. Two of the merfolk prisoners freed approached Salvat; twins, one was a male, Emiru and the female was Emiri. Emiru proceeded to talk up a storm about how he wanted to join Salvat in abolishing slavery. After a while, Salvat observed the siblings and deemed them to have useful traits. He accepted them as a part of their crew.
A year later, Emiru reported in about a Marine convoy heading towards Mariejois, the Holy Capital. With hints of possible secret intel and perhaps rare artifacts being delivered, Salvat ordered the Humbolt Wing to head for the second last waypoint for the delivery convoy. They had stumbled into a few failures previously, but Salvat was convinced that the crew had enough experience now to stage a proper attack. Soon enough, the trap was sprung, Marines and some fishmen died and before long, Salvat was battling the senior officer responsible for overseeing the transport of the goods. Salvat was on the verge of victory until he saw a creature on two legs jump out of the shadows, and attack both Marine Officer and Pirate Captain. After mauling the marine brutally, the monster trudged towards Salvat; the captain chuckled, which was an auto signal for Crut to knock the beast out.
Now adding the monster known as Stickleback Johnstoni to the fishmen ranks, along with many other fishmen and several merfolk, the pirates set out.
Expecting new members?: Yes

| Hmm, it can be possible for exceptions to exist, but so far, all of them are fishmen. | |

| I know this site is name Race to grandline so the fact they respawn at the grandline defeats the point of rping here. | |

| Okay.....so, Anfernee, can i assume that you have a character who you wish to have join or meet with the Tarai fishmen in any location other than the grandline, so they can embark on their journey into the Grand-line later, as part of their story? if so, we can do this in the South Blue.
Maxulus, would you be alright with Brewmaster meeting up with the Tarai pirates in the same location and thread? | |
