Name: Josey Morder
Age: 19
Bounty: 30,000,000
Species: Human
Occupation: Marksman, hunter
Allegiance: free-lance assassin.
Home Village/Ocean: East Blue
Appearance: Josey has the well-built body of a sailor or a warrior, but not the size of a freak (as in strongman) or a barbarian. He has broud shoulders, and stands at a tall height (exactly five foot eleven inches). His biceps are 16 inches and his shoes are a size eleven. However, his stature is still unintimidating due to his lack of violent features (like scars).
He has dirt brown hair (with a twinge of sun-caused blonding) kept near shaven, only a little more than a buzz cut. His eyebrows are angled, and in color, a fair bit darker than his hair. His eyes are average with plain light green eyes. His nose is straight, and his chin is slightly square.
He wears baggy grey-green three quarters pants (a type of pants that stop inbetween the knee and the ankle) with two pockets (where the front pockets are). His shirt is a faded white and ripped at the elbows. Above it he wears a brown leather vest. He wears the crass knuckles (glove with drill bits) on his right hand and a steel plated glove on his left. He wears his quiver the way most do, and he has a brick red sash on his waist.
History: Josey grew up as a marksman; making a living hunting beasts and men who threatened his village. He was offered the job as a town guard at an early age, but declined as he would get more money from bounty hunting. Josey only lived on the island till he was allowed to recieve a bounty hunter's licensing/identity. To earn money for the island's registration fee he was a circus sharpshooter, a hunter, and many other things. Two years of working blew by, and Josey was seventeen. On his birthday, he was given the last sum of money needed for the license.
A mysterious man from the government came in on his birthday as well. He heard that Josey was a great marksman and proposed a challenge for only the utmost of marksman. He bet Josey that he would kill any creature of Josey's picking before Josey even saw one. Josey asked if he would be using a gun or a bow; a gesture of respect shared by proffessionals. Instead of something along the lines of "I chose the gun, as it has a stronger kick" or "I prefer the bow, as it can be fired multiple times without nearby creatures learning anything of it" but he got a phrase like "mind your own business." Josey didn't care though, it wasn't the attitude but the skill that made someone a professional.
Josey embarked into the forest as the man offered him a head start. Josey picked a creature that had one typical spot. This thing rested on the beach as it laid its eggs twice a week in the sand. Little did Josey know the challenger had spotted one while docking his ship and even more shocking was the fact this man was not a regular human, but a cyborg. His eyes saw the creature before Josey had even touched the floor of the jungle (a short cut to the beach on the other side of the island) and he shot a small pebble out with his left hand. With the speed of a sniper bullet the pebble reached the creature and killed it. A bell rang out to say the game was over and Josey had lost.
"Impossible! You must've cheated! There was no way you could've got to the beach in that time!" Josey accused vigilantly, "You are correct, I did not travel to the beach. But a sharpshooter hunts from afar." The man laughed a little, "You don't even have a gun!" The man laughed moreso "I don't need a gun!" removing his glove and detaching the tip of his finger. There was indeed a gun barrel which he used to shoot it. "Now, about the money."
Josey was content in fighting him but the people were watching and he would be branded a pirate. Josey wanted money and freedom, and piracy would only get him one of the two; so instead Josey decided he would have a rematch. "Give me two weeks to practice my longshot and then we'll have another go. I'll pay double." The man saw a chance for the money, "What is the challenge?" Josey responded straightforwardly, "bag the biggest beast you can find and bring it to the forest in two weeks. I will meet you there and bring my beast."
Morder was looking for a way he could kill something amazing. He had two weeks to develope a stronger style and thought of the devil fruit on display. The circus he worked for was having a contest, if you could guess the number of bees in one of their attractions (the largest beehive you'll ever see!) you would get the fruit. Morder didn't need a great plan. He was a trusted employee. After taking a bite, he said "It was stolen in the night after I dozed off". It was a crime but nobody would know.
He retreated to the forest to train his devil fruit. Little did he know that his power wasn't the ability to breath fire or turn into a cat, but to spin things. He had no clue how to work spinning into a deadly ability until he found a drill bit stuck in a rock. Spinning it through the rock was an easy task and it inspired him to create a special arrow. A drill bit could go through a rock with a little work so an arrow could go through flesh with less work. A stronger arrow was what he needed to win, and that's what he found.
Josey had not killed any beast in the two weeks though. He had changed his mind on the competition. It was unneccesary to do so as one quick shot would be more efficient. Josey arrived at the scene, but climbed a tree instead of meeting the fool. "Of course the boy's late! He won't even show!" The man laughed out but his laughter came to an abrupt halt; an arrow had met him in the chest. "You... son of a.." The curse was cut short by his own death. Josey proudly trudged out to the corpse and began gleefully digging a grave but a thought came into his head. He has some money... I can take it.
Morder was caught in the act. He said, "the man was going to attack me!" A fanatical lie that no one was believing. "Oh well," He sighed as a look of disbelief came across the witness' face. Josey reached slowly into his quiver and grabbed an arrow. Placing it regretfully into killing position "don't yell. I won't make you live longer." Pulling back the string was easy for Josey. Just as easy as watching the string fling back into place and the arrow puncture the civillian. "I wouldn't expect you to forgive me, so I won't ask."
The crimes Josey had commited were not very extreme but he had been branded a criminal for a reason. Taking down a military grade cyborg was impressive, even if was just a lucky shot to a vital organ. Realizing there was no way he could let this die he decided to take the path of a free man.
Personality: Josey's defining characteristic is his pride. Like a balloon, his ego is rather big and easy to damage. He is not quick tempered but rather untrusting and distant. This makes the only way to get a rise out of him is to touch his ego (praise or poke). He is independant and his convictions are as strong as his will. His convictions are nigh unchangeable and he is very confident. All these traits add up to one person who is very hard to deal with, as he is uncontrollable.
He laughs at jokes of almost any nature: pun, satire, witty, or crud; but he does not enjoy black comedy (especially bond style one liners). He finds clowns unamusing and thinks of schadenfreude as a slightly humourous subject.
Ship: does not own one, due to having horrible luck.
Ship Flag: Non-applicable
