Appearance: Brand stands at a mild five foot seven inches. He has a slender build, weighing about 135 pounds on his own. However his small size does not make him look weak due to his relatively broad shoulders (20 inches). His arms are about two inches longer than the norm but his legs are average length. He has very defined calves and quadriceps due to running, as well as calves and biceps (defined, not beefy or muscular).
His light brown hair is kept short and mostly covered by a white balaclava he wears, but the tips of his bangs are not covered. On this balaclava a black target design is painted onto the forehead. He wears a grey jacket that covers his arms and cargo pants as well as black grip gloves and brown work boots. The only facial detail you can see of his is his triangular eyes; the color is a pale blue like the sky.
History: Brand's child hood was simple. He was a child raised in a darwinist village that feuded with the small number of navy soldiers in the area. He was taught that strength was not a defining characteristic but a required characteristic. He was not naturally tough but over time he developed power. This place also taught him to be ruthless. He respected the island as much as he could but left after killing a lone pirate and taking his dinghy.
He didn't get far into the ocean with just a little dinghy. However he did drift into an area he would name "the beginning sea". This area was filled with children and weaklings who wished to be the pirate king. This made easy pickings and light treasure. Just the life a young upstart would want, and one that would make his people proud. He wasn't branded an outlaw as killing pirates was technically a service but he did make a small mistake. A navy officer was sent to negotiate the terms of him joining their force when a miscommunication of sorts happened. Kadock thought the man had came to arrest him so he snuck into the man's boat and killed him in his sleep.
The assassination would have worked had it not been for the fact there was more than one man on the ship. He was caught with only an axe and ten guns on him. He was captured and taken for trial (murder and piracy). Once their the slain officer's replacement offered Brand the same deal with complete pardon. Brand accepted, as it was better than dying.
Personality: Brand is characterized by his ultimate dream to be in control of himself, or maybe his mild sociopathy. While he cares about a few people his eagerness to be manipulated by no one ends in him risking his own and others' safety for independence. The main way this determined indenpendence is shown is through the despise of those would claim superiority and the wanton disrespect of the law. He cares for only three things money, his pride, and his crewmates.
He believes in mutual respect. If someone respects him, he will give them the same level of respect. If someone is loyal to him, he will give them the same level of loyalty. He treats anyone he knows the same way they treat him (if someone listens to him, he would be willing to listen to them). The same applies backwards as he disrespects anyone who disrespects him.This does not always apply to strangers as he is untrusting, and sometimes paranoid.
Brand has a vicious desire for power. His dream is to be the strongest man of all the seas and to be a fearful warrior. He reaches for strength in anyway with a cutthroat mentality. He kills those who stand in his way and defends those that could help him. This makes him unpredictable as he is neither friend nor foe until he has decided.

Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25): Axe toss, a toss from the shoulder involving a sideways movement like a frisbee toss. The axe does not come back, as logically it wouldn't.
Dual wielding style: Holding the hand axe with one hand and the pistol by the the barrel. This allows for a equally offensive and defensive stance.
