Yes, but the comic version of Wolverine was killable, unlike the movie version, and was not god. Rasputin was able to survive multiple gun shots (including to the head) a dose of poison strong enough to kill five men, beating, being gutted, and he only died because he drowned.

Then wolverine drowns him....
