Moon Light

Luna sat looking up at the moon, it reflected agianst the still calm waters. She sighed wraping the cloak around her more, she looked out into the deep sea. Not many ships were out that night and for some reason Luna felt alone. The grass she was sitting on was moist and green, much the oposite to what she was used to. She sighed once agian grabbing a rock and throwing it off the cliff, it slowly descended to the dark waters below and made a small splash which Luna could hardly hear. She reached out and got a clump of grass and wrapped it around her ankle, earlier that day she had gotten herself stuck in an animal trap that the citizens of a nearby city put of for her. Her ankle wasn't swelling yet but she could see signs that it was going to, if not already, get infected.

Silently, the Ethereal floated across the sea. Cutting ocean waves like a hot knife through butter. Galleons of this caliber were hard to find. Large, elegant and fast were only few among it’s qualities. Crafted out of the strange and enchanting wood of the Pika tree, it would glow bright white on the night of a full moon. Aboard this magnificent ship, was Captain Oceana Skye Edwards and her crew, the Midnight Marauders.
“Captain, it seems we’ve caught sight of something out there.” said Nova, the ten foot two half giant. Oceana gave a dismal look towards the ocean and took the spyglass from her first mate. Scanning the waves, she caught sight of a foreign object.
“It appears to be a dinghy. Let’s take a closer look.” She commented before snapping the spyglass shut and handing back to Nova. With that, the Ethereal changed course and sailed towards the small boat.

Luna looked up from her wound and into the sea, she saw somthing coming closer. An actual ship that for once, wasnt a navy ship. She struggled to stand up to peer over the edge and get a closer look. Her ankle ached as she walked closer to the edge. "Augh!" She fell onto her knee grasping her ankle, the grass helped little in easing the pain on her ankle and she was starting to regret coming here in the first place. But the sight of a ship she had never seen the likes of before erged her to forget about the pain and find out more about this ship sailing in the moonlight.

Once the Ethereal had reached the small boat, Oceana raised a brow and gave a bemused chuckle. It was just Phinneas. For some reason the appearance of an unknown ship made her worry; albeit, her concern was in vain. Helping her tall, brawny half-brother aboard, she clapped him on the back roughly and shook her head.
“What were you doing out there at this hour kelp-head?” she said. Phinneas did not look amused at the kelp-head statement. Sighing gruffly he cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders a few times.
“Surveying the island. Great place to restock on supplies.” He said simply.
Once Oceana’s feet hit dry land, she stretched her arms over her head and sighed contentedly. They had been at sea for quite some time now and it was great to actually be on land. Strapping on her cutlass and her pistol, she set off by herself to explore while Nova organized preparations for the crew to come search for supplies the following morning.

LUna stood up, her hair blew quickly in the fast breeze. She looked down at the persan coming of the ship, "Pirates," she said to herself softly. She quickly hoped over to a near by tree, she reached up and peeled some of the bark of, "hope this works," she said wraping it aroun d her ankle, she grined as she started to slowly walk down the cliff, she reached a a large rock with a cove in the back. Perfect place to hide, she thought as she crawled in under.
A real life pirate, Luna hadn't seen one up this close for ever, mabye never. This was somthing she wasn't going to miss.

Oceana crept through the trees and underbrush quietly. Although Phinneas had scouted ahead, she was ALWAYS cautious no matter what. Anything could have been lurking in the lush, green vegetation. Very careful to make her footfalls silent, she made her way into a clearing and looked around.

Suddenly she was very aware of the feeling she was being watched. Narrowing her eyes suspiciously, she fingered the pistol at her hip and held her breath.

"Who's there?" she said icily, as low as possible.

Luna gulped, she pulled her arms in tight as to not make any noise thus directing to where she was hiding. She then thought to herself, if this persan was a pirate and she caught them she could earn the bounty or better yet maybe get a friend. She streched her legs out holding tight to her sword. She stepped out and stood up. The wind blew roughly agianst her hair making it flap wildly, her eyes seemed eerie in the darkness of the night and her scarf whipped aound her head like a whip. "Luna," she said in a deep voice, "and may I ask whom you might be?"

Hand still on her pistol, Oceana smiled darkly to herself. Whether it was a good thing her instincts were right all the time or a bad thing, it did come in handy. Letting her posture relax ever so slightly, she turned towards the source of the voice and raised a quizzical brow.

"Luna eh? I'm Captain Edwards." she said simply. It was vague enough that if Luna were an enemy, she wouldn't catch on to who she really was. "What business do you have spying on me, on a deserted island in the dead of night?"

Luna smirked back at her tilting her head, she wraped the scraf tighter around her head now binding her hair. "Your a pirate?" She smiled. Even though the situation as dangurus and Luna knew that she did not want to seem weak in front of someone who could blow her head off in one shot. "Augh," she said quietly and her ankle curled, she smiled back up at Captain Edwards, sweat dripped slowly down her face. Luna tried baring the pain, she had to this situation was to dangurus to have a weak ankle.

((might I just inturpt to sya that this is a real example of what RP threads should be, this is not only very well writen but goes in to a level of detail others miss, Captaincorckscrew and Gohan's fight was another such example))

Dropping her tense pose, Oceana sighed. Smiling softly, she kept her hand on her pistol but approached the girl. There was a good chance she was faking injury, but the maternal instinct in Oceana pushed her to check at least. Among other things, that was one thing she cursed about womanhood and being a pirate.

"You okay there Ms. Luna?" she asked, almost smirking. If she was injured, then there was a good chance that she'd have the upper hand if the girl in front of her decided to pick a fight.

Luna bent down still holding her ankle, she cared little for what others thought of her and she knew that if a pirate knew she couldnt run more then five metres without falling over in extreme pain she would be dead. So slowly and very carefully put her hand on her sword, she had about one second before Captain Edwards would most likely know that she had drawn her sword so she had to act quickly, unfortunetly for her speed was not quite on her side today. So as quickly as she could she drew her sword and lept back holding it stright in front of her and glaring at the pirate.

"One! Don't call me miss," she barked out, "Two! I am perfectly fine!"
Luna was tired and frustrated at everyone in the world. She herself had little idea as to why she was challenging a pirate, why bother she knew she couldnt win. Luna had won every battle by having a hostage, most villigars wouldn't dare harm her if she threatened to kill someone close to them so most of the time she never drew her sword.

Giving the girl a critical look, she frowned. Now she was convinced that she was truly hurt. That; or she was a really good actress. Taking the blade of the sword between her thumb and index finger, she pushed it away from her throat. Extracting her pistol, she flicked the safety off and cocked the magazine, ready to fire. Aiming the readied pistol at Luna's head, she sighed.

"Big mistake missy." she sneered in a belittling manner. For all she knew, this girl could be a decade younger than she. The thought made her feel old. "Now if you'd like to keep your brains intact, I suggest you put that away before someone gets hurt."

Luna clasped the sword tighter then she had done before, if there was thing life had taught her it was to never back down. But if there was one thing that her ankle had taught her just then was, 'if you don't back down, I will foryou'. And with that the weight of her body became too much for her ankle and she collapsed. Stupid pirate, she thought to herself as she dragged her sword back to her side, Luna now knew she was way to cocky and over estimated herself. Of course it's easy to get a ton of money from villigars, how were they supposed to knwo she was near to harmless.But pirates never took chances and Luna regreted even coming to the island.

But she wasnt going to give up on life as of yet, using her arm she pushed up so she was sitting, she curled her scarf agian around her face then looked up, "Tell me one thing," she asked in the most serious tone she could think of, "why are you a pirate?"
