History:
Calico Jack has two main wishes: To explore the world , and find a cure for his mother's illness in the vast, largely unknown (for him, at least) stretch of the Grand Line. For him, the One Piece, which his father had told him was a boundless amount of treasure, was only a bonus he would obtain ; used more or less so that no one on his island would ever have to suffer from poverty again.
The village where Calico grew up in was the only population in a small, rather remote island, at which most of the residents were poor. Resources were scarce, mainly due to harsh and generally cold climates, bearing in mind that the island was located not just a little bit to the north (kind of like Russia irl, in comparison of positions).
Since as long as the then five-year old Calico could remember, his father, Dempsey Calico, had always been on and off the island to 'do his job and make money so that not only they could eat, but the neighbors as well.' For all it mattered, the concept of his dad raiding ships (and more importantly sharing his share to others living on the island) had always been justified by the village, and little Calico grew up with an unshakeable belief that the true way of a pirate was to help people, as well as that ways were often justified by ends. Calico basically formed an Ideology that as long as he shared his riches that he was able to do whatever he wanted.
Dempsey himself had never been home all that often, but whenever he was, he would always share the tales of his adventures to Calico; greatly impressing and inspiring the child to follow in his father's footsteps. After all, what job could be better than one that involved adventures done in a twisted sense of heroism?
Years passed by after his father's departure for the Grand Line, and Calico and Annette's lives were nothing but struggle. Since he was of a young age, he had been forced to take on various, grueling crude labors in order to keep himself fed, as his mother's own income was barely enough to cover her own needs. These tasks revolved around working at the local smithery. He had been taken on as an apprentice and was payed little but gained valuable skills. Not only that, but on his spare time he would go to the dojo to train. He learned how to fight properly and was a very respectable martial artist in the village. Not only that, but he worked to help pay the bills as a blacksmiths apprentice. He had started his training at the age of four years old.
Life was stressful for both, but Annette was never shy to express that she knew that Calico was all she had, and that she loved him plenty.
That was why that the moment Calico learned that Annette was helplessly sick, he didn't hesitate to set on a journey to the Grand Line to find a cure, despite what people told him that his mom's life was pretty much a given. Instead, he left his mother to the capable hands of one of the trusted friend of Annette's, and using the help of some of his own friends, built a raft to begin his own journey to the Grand Line, vowing an oath that he would come back, with a cure for his mother, and as a famous world renowned pirate. His mother knowing that this was inevitable, handed over the one gift his father had left for him... That being a devil fruit.
Personality:
Calico Jack is most of the time, a fun loving guy. He laughs and enjoys company. Calico also had a huge love for eating and drinking. It is not unusual to see him stuffing himself mad.
What really ticks Calico off is when someone steals his scrumptious morsels of food, or if someone tries to trample on his dreams. He almost never takes things seriously and usually fools around when in battle; unless his life depends on it. This results in his enemies thinking that he is mocking them. Around friends, Calico is very happy and kind and attempts to affiliate with others as much he can. Besides Calico's first impressions, which may make him look like an idiot... he is an intelligent guy.
Calico's main dream is to become known and making a name for himself. He believes that either becoming the strongest man in the world or gaining the highest bounty will help him achieve this goal.

The versatility of this attack allows the user to focus this barrage of strikes onto a single point or an extremely wide range, thereby allowing the user to strike multiple targets at once.
Displace Strike:
A technique in which the user would thrust or swipe with any of its limbs at very high speeds to send a powerful burst of displace air flying onto its target. The sharpness and bluntness of the attack depends greatly on the form, power and angle of the limb used to strike.
Surge Strike:
A technique in which the user would swipe down with any of its limbs at very high speeds to send powerful bursts of displace air blasting off the ground and surge upwards, effectively launching upwards any targets within a certain meter radius.
Vortex Strike:
A technique in which the user would rapidly spin around, swiping diagonally with any of its limbs at very high speeds to send powerful blasts of displace air flying in all directions. This technique is highly destructive, being note to have a powerful knock back affect on anything it strikes.
Blitz Strike:
A technique in which the user would unleash a barrage of rapid-fire strikes at various angles and at very high speeds to send a powerful bursts of displaces air flying onto its targets. The sharpness and bluntness of the attack depends greatly on the form, power and angle of the limb used to strike. The versatility of this attack allows the user to focus this barrage of strikes onto a single point or an extremely wide range, thereby allowing the user to strike multiple targets at once from a distance.
Aerial Rush:
A technique in which the user would kick off the air to up to twenty meters to avoid or increase the momentum of attacks. This technique is noted to be an advance version of the Rokushiki technique Geppou, utilizing the user’s natural speed to achieve the same form.
Sudden Rush:
A technique in which the user would instantly move to up to twenty meters to avoid or increase the momentum of attacks. This technique is noted to be a rudimentary version of the Rokushiki technique Soru, being that it utilizes the user’s natural speed to achieve the same form.
Devil Fruit TechniquesPheonix Disposition:
A technique from which many of the user’s Zoan abilities are derived from, it grants the user many powers that are associated with the Phoenix. As the phoenix, the user would be able to choose to see with binocular vision and possess a heighten sense of smell. It’s most unique sense however would be the ability to sense with the blue fires it generates, making it almost like a secondary skin as it flares and flickers though without feeling any pain should it ever be struck.
Aerial Aid:
A technique in which the user shoots forth balls of blue flame towards allies which mend their wounds at a rapid pace.
Topsy Turv Flames:
A technique in which the user descends rapidly from the sky in a spinning fashion towards his opponent with flames flaring in every which direction. The users beak will provide a devastating blow usually ending in impalement.
Scorching Flame:
A passive technique in which the user would use its phoenix disposition to have its immolating blue flames burn anything it comes in contact with. These flames can also be used to enhance the offensive capabilities of other techniques, notably adding the term, ‘Scorching’ before the name of each technique.
Bending Flames:
A technique in which the user would use its phoenix disposition to be able to manipulate its blue flames like a Logia user. This control however is rudimentary as the user’s ability is Zoan in nature. It would only allow the user to shape and control its blue flames to take on various shape and sizes within the user’s size and not beyond that.
Rejuvenating Flames:
A passive technique in which the user would use its phoenix disposition to be able to rapidly regenerate any wounds or lost limbs with fire.
Avian Form:
A technique in which the user would shape shift into its complete phoenix form in order to utilize the avian’s various animalistic dispositions. When in this form, the user would appear like the legendary avian, slender necked and entirely composed of brilliant blue flames with an impressive wingspan that adds to its majestic presence.
