(I thought since this my new guy will be using several different types of insects, I may as well just make a thread for them.)
1.
Name: Spotted Spear
Description: A four inch, green colored insect with blue spots and wings. It is long and thin, with a small spike on the front of it.
Special abilities: The spike on this insect contains a poison that can dull the senses and slow down an opponent.
History: Ken picked up five of these insects at the laboratory where he spent most of his life, before he set sail. He is currently trying to set up a breeding program to build up their numbers. He has to be very careful with this insect and can only carry one around at a time because he cannot control them all at once.
2.
Name: Piranha Beetle
Description: A small, half inch long insect. It has a hard outer shell, wings, and mandibles that add another eighth of an inch to the beetle's entire length. These beetles live in colonies that range from one hundred to one hundred and fifty beetles in all. There is a queen that lays the eggs, but she only lays about ten each day. Every two weeks another queen is born and she leaves the hive with several males to go and create another hive.
Special abilities: The name of these insects is derived from the speed and efficiency with which they strip their target down to the bone. With the hive fully assembled, they can completely strip a squirrel within a minute. A full grown human, on the other hand, would take about ten minutes. (ten posts) However, it is unlikely that they would strip a full sized human, as they would eat their fill after about three minutes. (three posts) That should give them enough time to at least take all the skin off an arm, or pull out someone's eyes.
History: Ken found these insects on an uninhabited island near his home. The island was completely infested with the creatures and he barely got out alive. He originally collected only one hive, but now he has three in all. Even with his devil fruit ability Ken has to be careful with these creatures. Every two weeks he kills the new queens so that they will not create their own hives. He has also created special containers for them, which allow him to remove the queen and touch her without the others getting on him. Then he can control the others through the queen.
3.
Name: Komakai Shiroi Chiyu (Small White Cure)
Description: An incredibly small white creature that many would not even consider an insect. It is only as big as a red blood cell. No one knows exactly what it looks like because it dies if it stays in air for more then five seconds and it whithers away in ten seconds.
Special abilities: This creature can heal cuts and wounds by fill in the cut with a grayish fluid that it produces in its body. A small cut, like a paper cut, takes a minute (one post) to heal back up. A medium sized cut, like a stab wound from a knife, takes about two minutes (two posts) to heal up. A big cut, like a sword slash, takes three minutes (three posts) to heal up. Just because it can heal wounds does not mean that it replenishes blood that is lost and it will not heal wounds to the lungs. (Remember? It dies if it stays in air for to long.) Of course, if the Ken's heart or some other vital organ is hit, he can still die unless he can somehow survive long enough for the creatures to heal him. It will also destroy germs in the body so most diseases will not harm someone who has these creatures in them. It will link itself to the body and multiply like cells, but it will only multiply as much as the body can take. Lastly, as these creatures join with their host's body, the host will slowly produce fewer white blood cells until they do not make any white blood cells at all.
History: This creature is found living inside the bodies of monkeys on an island called Saru Island. It heals up their cuts and wounds in exchange for some of the fat and nutrients in the monkey's body. Ken found these insects by pure accident. He had captured a monkey and was doing tests on it with insects. After drawing blood from the creature, a few drops of blood fell on the ground. After reaching down to wipe up the blood with a cloth, he brushed it with his skin and was amazed to find that insects were living in the blood. He experimented with the insects, putting them in his own body and found that they did the same things for him that they did for the monkeys. The reason he named them the 'Small White Cure' was do to the fact that they did the same work as white blood cells, just a whole lot faster.
