History:
Akira’s home resides on the secluded Big-Small Island, an Island so named for its population of normal humans and giants who live equally on the island. Hundreds of years ago, they were separate tribes, the giants using their great size and strength in order to oppress the humans. However, one day a human child forged a sword, one so strong that it could withstand blows from giants. This child went on to protect the humans, single-handedly holding off the invading giants. The man fought for years, earning him respect amongst both sides for his valor and tenacity. Eventually, the leader of the giants challenged him to a fight for the control of the island. The clash made the entire island to quake with the tremendous power of the two fighters. The war-like brawl lasted three weeks, neither side letting up an inch until the 21th day. Both the leader of giants and the lone swordsman stood, unmoving for three hours, until finally the giant chieftain fell. Much to the giant’s surprise, the swordsman stayed to heal the giant’s wounds. This action earned not only the total and complete respect of the entire giant tribe, but the heart of the giant’s daughter as well. When the two married, it symbolized the unification of the two tribes that lasted to this day. After several years the man left his village, becoming a renowned swordsman around the world.
Generations later, the descendant of this legendary swordsman, a perverted but well-meaning half giant known as Akuma and his giant wife, Narue, had a child. However, somehow this child was born a natural human, a mysterious event considering neither of the parents came from evident human heritage. The child was named Akira, most however, called him “Small fry”, including his own father. Despite his small size compared to the rest on his island, he was able to make friends easily with other giants and half giants. The best of his friends was a half giant named Barry. The two boys both enjoyed exploring the island, practicing swordplay, and above all listening to tales about the ancient hero that Akira descended from. Inspired by these stories, both Barry and Akira promised each other to become great heroes like the great hero of the island’s past. They both trained hard, honing their sword fighting arts.
Years later, when Akira and Barry were 19, a devil fruit was brought to the attention of the village elders. It was decided that a sword fighting tourney would be held to discover who would obtain the devil fruit, however, it was also decided that the one who obtain the devil fruit would be sent to follow in the great hero’s footsteps. Due to this last addition, very few participants wished to risk their lives, having families to care for. However, Barry and Akira were the first to join, and among the 16 to enter. Only half giants had decided to compete in the tourney. Placed at opposite sides of the brackets, they both swept through the competition. Easily reaching the semifinals, the two friends stood against each other. At first, Akira refused to take up arms against his friend, and played defensively, blocking each blow that Barry threw at him. However, eventually Barry called out Akira on holding back, asking how Akira was going to follow his dreams if he refused to fight for them. Hearing these words, Akira doubled back under Barry’s blade, bringing his blade down. Stopping only centimeters away from Barry’s face, declaring “I win”. That night Akira was sitting in a place of honor, for the first time in his life his friends were looking up to him. At the end of the feast he took the unknown devil fruit, and bit down into it. Continuing to laugh with his friends and family, he suddenly began to feel a bit woozy… before everything blacked out.
Waking, Akira found a whole new world around him… terrified he began to panic, as everywhere he looked it was pitch black night. Calling his every name he knew he ran through waist high grass as he attempted to find them. The new moon caused the world to be more than dark, but nightmares were behind every turn. Suddenly, his world was turned upside down a falcon swooped down as silent as the night. Snatching him in its claws it carried him to the nest.
Akira Fought Valiantly for his life, grabbing a sharpened twig he barely managed to save himself, stabbing the falcon in it’s eye. Exhausted and terrified, he sat back and managed to survey his surroundings, looking back he cringed, noticing the three eggs still resting in the back of the nest. Regretting his role in the death of the mother falcon, he promised to himself to care for the eggs while he could. However, despite his best efforts even after adapting to his new size, only one egg survived. After a few days, the egg began to hatch, but as a smile began to creep along Akira’s face, a cry sounded behind him. A Hawk swooped down, ready to pillage the unguarded nest. Putting his life on the line, Akira fended off the predator to save the sole surviving egg. When the Hawk finally gave up, the beaten and bloody, looked to the hatching egg. Weary from battle, Akira had passed out from exhaustion, vision slowly fading to black. When he stands up from unwinding, he observes that the nest looks farther away from him. He realizes that he must have grown in height, but does not know how. Deep in thought, Akira gains a revelation about the power of his devil fruit. Depending on his concentration, Akira can change his size at will. For hours, Akira made his best efforts meditating, thinking, reflecting, and contemplating on his ability. Deciding to test this theory, he jumped from his perch, concentrating with all of his willpower. However instead of a 40 story fall, he quickly found himself feet on the ground, standing almost as high as the trees. Concentrating again he returned to a more natural size and began scaling the tree again, worried about the hatching egg.
Getting back on to the nest, Akira looked to the newly hatched chick, deciding to name it Valor. After around two months, the hatchling eventually matured enough to fly. Of course it took some time to master the art of not falling, however with time Valor became an expert. Meanwhile, Akira had mastered his own powers as well. Returning to the village, Akira was welcomed warmly by his old friends and family, all of whom had given up hope on finding him. Celebrating his return, they were amazed by his new power, both parties finding it both uplifting and strange to be looking eachother in the eyes for once. After much celebrating, Akira decided it was time to go on his own adventure. Having a proper send off, he returned to his small size and hopped on valor, and the two flew off to find adventure.
Personality: Akira is a kind and gentle soul, enjoying the more natural things in life, and seeing the beauty of nature. He follows a very strict code of honor, refusing to fight anybody that is innocent, always remembering his forefathers, and the willingness to risk his life for his friends. Usually there will be a smile on his face, as he rarely gets angry at anything. While he follows his honor without question, he does not let it get in the way of having a good time. He loves to laugh and to have fun with friends, absolutely loving drinking and eating. He enjoys making jokes and partying, and can take an insult like a slap on the wrist. However, his joy masks a sleeping giant, when angered he can become a furious man that emits a simply terrifying presence. The Contrast between Akira when he is happy and angry is enough to shake close friends. Only three things can really make him angry. Violence, Threats against his friends, and insults against his honor.

Height 3: The largest form that Akira has, is exactly 1200 cm (39.4 feet). In this form he is much stronger, however he is incredibly slow and a much bigger target. He hates using this form, as it puts many lives in danger out of his control.
