History: Kiri was a lovely young mermaid who lived with her father on his pirate ship. He was the first mate a decent but low-tier pirate crew and he would teach her many wonderful songs and recipes until one day the marines finally caught up to them. They put up a fight, but they ultimately lost. Sadly, her father was struck by a cannonball trying to protect her, and by the time the marines came aboard, she was hiding under his body.
leaving her behind, the Marines set the ship ablaze and she was forced to sneak off the ship, diving into the water. She hid for her survival in the ocean, living her teenage years in hiding from the marines by calling out to great sea beasts to protect her. Then one day, she just couldn't outrun them all and a fishing cruiser caught her up. Sold into slavery and kept isolated from sea-life on dry land. She was sold to a young royal who looked about the age of 13. He had a hobby of collecting wild life as pets and he wanted her to sing lovely music for him every day as his pet.
She sang every day until one day the boy grew board with all her songs, he could have thrown her away, but he did like the way she looked and didn't want to buy another one only to have it sing no better, so he hired a tutor to teach her new songs every day.
The tutor's name was Gregor, her slaver, Matthew, expected him only to teach her songs, but as the days went by, he snuck other lessons to her, as well as teaching her a radical new theory that all life sprout out of the sea and evolved into different forms. She explored an idea, first singing to birds to will them like the sea-life before her and eventually moving up to other larger creatures.
Then, the offer came. a year had passed since her slavery had begun and Matthew came to her with an offer. While for now, her legs had not formed, she was very pretty and he wasn't even of marrying age yet. But he was quite smitten with her. If she agreed to be his mistress (because he couldn't dare marry a lowly mermaid), he would give her all the freedoms he could offer her, aside from true freedom. He gave her a fortnight to consider it, and on the day of her answer, she gave it. In a beautiful song, she willed all of his pets to go wild, breaking free and causing a huge amount of chaos. Escaping in the ruckus, she climbed about a strange beast she had never seen and it took her off, flying into the sky and getting her to safety, free from their captive slavery.
Personality: Quite pleasant, Kiri is someone who never gives up hope in any situation. She is quite intelligent and relies more on persuasion and her ability to will animals to her favor than any raw power on her part. Despite her days as a slave, she is also quite lazy, which might be caused by only needing to sing in her slavery and also just being lazy at heart and her slavery didn't change anything. she hates hot places as they mess with her wet, fish skin and make her scales get very dry and peel. She is also a bit vain, refusing to be seen sometimes when her peeling gets too much.

Special Abilities: Manipulative voice: Doesn't work on anything with a brain function at that of a human, but she tends to use it to will beasts to save her. after learning that land animals were descendent of fish, she was able to use her singing voice to carry her will to all creatures. Her power isn't on par with the Poseidon, which can will even sea kings, and even she is typically powerless against them.
Sonar detection: When underwater, she can use her sonar to find her way. This ability can also be used in areas with high echoing, like in caves, similar to a bat, but she prefers to use it underwater because it can confuse her in cave.
Swimming: She is also incredibly fast underwater, even if she has to rely on her beasts to carry her on land and her tail is strong enough to nock back a normal human.
