Gama, although shown in his formal armor, often wears light wear. His hair is dark brown and he often has a thin mustache on his upper lip. His eyes are rather inviting blue. Gama stands about 1.82m high. Gama has many cut and stab marks all over his body. Gama never leaves his room/staying place without getting his hair in the exact model as in the picture. Gama always seems tidy and follow a strong dress code, always trying to wear as formal wear as he can. When in his casual wear he wears a indigo Yukata, and depending on the situation he wouldn't even wear his katana. The Yukata has short sleeves, as is regular for the male version. ''Serve your lord and you will ascertain your family of happiness,'' So was the creed of the Jurōjin clan. The clan had a long history of serving the lord of the island, and would always offer their son as a vassal once they entered adulthood/finished their training. The clan was known for raising strong warriors, but even better smiths. The clan believed that the warrior must be one with his blade, and in order to achieve that they had to craft their own weapon.
Gama was born in a time where the world government was still absolute, and they stood for justice and unity. It were peaceful times where only the strongest of pirates could survive. Gama start his training since young, and his first test before his training even began was to craft a sword. He was given minor instructions and had to go from there. Gama crafted a half beaten sword that was as sharp as a butter knife. Still his parents were proud of him, as it was still pretty exceptional for someone that tried it for the first time. Gama went on and trained for many hours with that sword, as his family believed that 'to become one with your sword you need to wield your own efforts'. This would go on for years, training to both smith a good weapon and to use them, gaining proficiency in most bladed weapons.
When he turned 18 the clan considered his training to be finished, and he was offered as a vassal to the then quite old lord. He served with honor and with unending loyalty. Through the coming years Gama would go and do unspeakable things just for the sake of honoring his lord and following every command he gave. This eventually came down to even striking down those who but gave a dirty look to his lord. Even though all that Gama believed the old lord was just, and he kept the island under an iron rule. It provided safety for his people, and his family was given land and wealth for his service. Soon Gama got his own wife, who he one day wished to have a child with. However people from the Jurōjin clan are not allowed to reproduce unless given explicit orders from their lord. This was used as to ascertain the quality of the vassals the clan provided, and if the lord was unsatisfied he could simply disallow mating, and stop the bloodline of that man.
At the age of 25 the old lord died, and the young lord was appointed through heritage. The old lord was inexperienced and used his power more for his own purpose instead of providing for his island. The people grew unhappy, but even so Gama stood proud, knowing that the old lord must have trained him well. The following years Gama changed from a samurai serving every order his lord gave him to the dog that served a mad king, killing on his command, and punishing those who only have good intentions but get in the way of the young lord. A small seed of doubt began to be planted in the back of Gama's mind, but even then he kept believing in the young lord, just as he always believed in the old lord, and back then nothing went wrong ever.
At the age of 29 Gama was promoted to captain of the castle's guard, and brought honor to his family from the nobles, but shame from the civilians who began to view him as evil. The revolutionary movement had grown to the point where it could no longer be controlled by the lord, and the young lord used the influence of the diseased old lord to gain something from the WG, it was the strongest way to enchant your strength known to the world at that age. It was a devil fruit. The devil fruit was given to Gama, as he was the most trusted of the samurai, but also because the young lord didn't want to take the risk of eating a devil fruit himself, fearing the curse it was said to have. After eating it, to everyone's surprise, nothing happened to Gama. Mad at the result the young lord punished gama to the biggest punishment that could be given to someone who maintained the right to stay at their rank, the 1000 whiplashes of authority. After each whip lashing onto his back his doubt began to grow little by little about the young lord. But his pride would never submit to such shameful thoughts.
Then, when he reached the age of 30 it happened. The revolution came, and mobs of people stormed the castle. The young lord had been foolish and never grew his military might in order to prepare for this day. He only ever cared for himself and thus neglected his duty. The mob wanted a just lord, they wanted to appoint a lord chosen by the people. As the guards posts fell one by one, the mob entered the central courtyard leading to the main castle building, going up a long stairway. Protecting it were Gama and a handful of his most trusted guards. It became a hard and punishing battle as Gama cut down one man after the other. People he once saw walking the street, neighbors, even friends were cut down by his own well made katana. Somewhere he thought about stopping this madness..but it was already too late, backing down now would only shame his family even further, and as such he was determined to protect the young lord. However surprise took over his mind as he was suddenly struck from behind. It was one of his most trusted samurais.. It appeared he had become part of the revolutionaries.. no wonder, Gama had recently heard he lost his house because the lord simply wanted a garden there...but still, it hurt his pride knowing he let someone that shameful get even remotely close to the young lord. One thing Gama would never forget was the sight, as he fell down and snow dyed red came closer, the face of a mother holding her baby in one hand and a knife in the other, stabbing him repeatedly. And so he died.
However Gama was surprised as he found himself to be drifting over sea not long after being slain. Not questioning the situation Gama began to search for his body in haste, and was lucky to find it back in a good state without decay. He looked around. The castle was scorched to the ground...black ash filled the courtyard. The blood and bodies of the many lied around.. and then there was Gama. Exactly as when he left his body he lied there in the snow, covered in the blood of the revolutionaries. Looking up the staircase he was certain his lord would be killed. He wasn't able to defend him after all. Being overtaken by agony Gama made the decision to kill those who are shameful, pirates, marines, whoever they may be. As he touched his body he was returned to it, and not letting himself be overtaken by surprise a second time he put up hat of a commoner lying around. Hiding his face he went around town, collecting that which was his.
Once he arrived at home to pick up his final things he noticed there was no home... his clan estate was burned down as well.. But nothing could overthrow the agony he felt anyways. He grabbed whatever he need without looking around for survivors, and left. Gama soon left on a journey that spanned more then a hundred years to rediscover himself. He found new motives, got to know more people, and found out his body wouldn't age. In the end Gama thought he knew the true nature of men and the world, and wished to guide a lord, as he would shame himself if he thought himself as superior to any other human being.
In the world he began to be known as a 'pirate' , as he followed no rules, took what he wanted when he needed it, and killed many people if he found them dishonorable.
Personality:Gama could best be explained as someone who is chaotic good. He does not like to commit crimes, but is prepared to to so in case he believes it is a just action. He doesn't mind pirates, but can't stand any of them acting without honor, this does not however mean crimes, but rather those that, for example, run away from the marines instead of facing the consequences of their actions with their head held high. As such he has spend time with a lot of pirates who he never even thought of killing. He even spend some time teaching some pirates his way, sometimes he thought some unknowing marines the way of his thoughts, and not even civilians were safe for his teachings.(His teachings DID involve the killing of the student if they acted against his honor code). Gama contradicts himself most of the time, but chooses not to take notice of them. Ship: None Ship Flag: None Devil Fruit: Yomi Yomi no mi Type: Paramecia Effect: The Yomi Yomi no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit which enhances the user's soul to the point where they can come back to life after dying once, remaining alive until their body is sufficiently damaged, and to use several other soul-based abilities, making the user a Reviving Human (復活人間 Fukkatsu Ningen?).[2] The name is derived from Yomigaeru (よみがえる), meaning "Resurrection", also, Yomi (黄泉) is the name of the Japanese underworld. Special Abilities: Weapon proficiency: Gama has learned to wield any bladed weapon with the skill of someone who has used it for years. Great smith: Gama has a lot of knowledge about being a smith and can create a large variety of weapons. Iaido master: Gama is the master of Iaido, the art of drawing one's katana out of the sheath, performing a couple(often slashing) attacks, and then sheathing it again. Knowledge of the old; Gama has lived long enough to see many personalities and many quirks, as so he can often notice someone's intention through their body language, and it even goes as far as noticing when someone tries to attack.(This does not mean he is able to know what is going to strike, or where, or how) Learned Techniques (Keep it 1-25): Alpha strike: Gama draws his katana out of its sheath and performs a quick slashing strike, and sheaths it again after its done. Beta strike: Gama draws his katana out of its sheath in an even quicker movement and performs 2 quick strikes, in the same time period as the alpha strike. As a draw back the Beta strike has less force behind its strikes and thus is easier to deflect. Delta strike: Gama draws his katan out of its sheath to perform 3 quick strikes in the same amount of time it would take to do one, but the force has diminished to the point where one can block it if enough strength is applied. Gamma strike: The final and quickest of Gama's strikes, performing 4 strikes at such a speed a normal man could have only made one strike. This does mean that all the 4 strikes are extremely quick and hard to track by eye, but their strength is as far diminished that they would only be capable of making shallow cuts, and they could be deflected by even the most thin plate armors.
