Appearance: Madden is a average build 165 pound 6'3 individual. He often wears a black newsboy cap on his short curly blond hair with purple tips. A small white aschot are wrapped around his neck. He wears a orange vest over his white shirt. Yellow cufflinks are at both sleeves. Madden wears his jacket around his waist with the sleeves wrapped around similar to a belt. He wears black pants with brown shoes. His lance is located hilted on his back.
History: Madden was born in the grand line. The country he lived in was infested with pirates who pretty much ruled the countryside outnumbering the local police five to one. The King however didn't care for the local peasants. He had his army guard only the rich districts of the kingdom leaving the poor in the mercy of the pirates. He never sent aid or help for his people. Madden joined the royal army for the king's protection at the age of 20. He loved the life of an solider with three hearty meals, a large pay, and the protection from the hordes of criminals. After five years, Madden eventually became captain of his own squad. He never looked back on his former life disregarding the lives of his family and friends. It wasn't until the burning of the city, Libera, did Madden realize the error of his ways. Dozens of people fled to the capital for refugee, but the royal army was under strict orders not to let them in. The king wanted the poor to die so all that would be remaining were the wealthy...and their servants. His majesty wanted a country of wealth, and these pirates provided the free labor of executing the peasants. His only concern was the safety of the capital. Many refugees died awaiting at the capital gates from hunger or fatigue. Madden couldn't stand it anymore, and opened the gates for the people disregarding the king's orders. He then charged with his men to deal with the pirates. It took six months, but the country was mostly free of pirates. When Madden returned he had hoped to be praised as an hero. The king however stripped Madden of his status and power. He would have had him executed if he wasn't so popular with citizens. Madden was known as a hero, and his death would certainly lead to a revolt. He was exiled in secret. Madden decided to become a bounty hunter where he could serve justice by his own terms. Madden sailed the grand line collecting bounties as his new livelihood. He quickly gained a reputation as the "Impaler" for his skills with the lance. It was also well known method of Madden's for dealing with pirates. His adventures lead to capture over a dozen pirates with bounties above 20 million beli an impressive feat for a rookie bounty hunter. Though impressive Madden was hardly making a difference in the pirate community. Every pirate he took down another rookie popped wanting to become pirate king. He couldn't handle this crusade on his own. Madden then decided to establish the Pirate Dispatch Alliance, a guild of bounty hunters dedicated on cash in on pirates.
Personality: Madden is a cynical and stoic character. He speaks very blunt to people not above pointing their flaws including his own. This trait can make it seem like Madden is cruel or heartless. Madden however can be very distant often not caring about others, and is not above sacrifice in order to achieve results. Even being a bounty hunter, Madden doesn't have anything pirates, but recognizes them a threat that needs to be contained. Madden is also not the one to work with people preferring to be alone on most missions. This doesn't mean he is above making alliances to take down powerful enemies. Madden is very patriotic often speaking highly about his country, and wishes he could return
