Weapon name: Shiro Sazanami, literally translating to "White Ripple"
Description: Shiro Sazanami is a Meito katana, more specifically a "O Wazamono", meaning it's one of the 21 rarest swords in the world (excluding the 12 Saijin O Wazamono that exist). It's a slightly shorten-than-average katana of about 1,2 meters in length. It's blade is also somewhat wider than the typical katana as well. It has a white hilt with a gold-colored protector and edge, that also has a loose piece of fabric wrapped around the button of the hilt, still not covering the gold-colored edge of the hilt. Unlike most katanas, the blade begins slightly smaller in width, and after a few centimeter reaches it's actual width, by making a small arc-like shape, as opposed to most katanas having a pretty consistent width along the blade. The blade shines a bright silver color and is particularly sharp. It's usually held in a thick sheath, that allows the user to easily pull the sword without that arc mentioned above stuck on the sheath.
Weapon special abilities: As a O Wazamono-class sword, it's obvious that it's a very strong sword. Shiro Sazanami's main strength lies in it's incredible durability, thanks to the immensely skilled man that forged it, to incoming impact and even elemental attacks, as it can even resist strong fire assaults, without melting or getting damaged (of course, don't expect it to survive against something like, say, molten lava!). Due to it's relatively small size, and the fact that it's quite lightweight, it allows the user to maneuver it with great ease. The blade is also very sharp, and, thanks to the mastermind that has forged this powerful blade, can, assuming that the user is a skilled swordsman, slice through virtually everything barring things such as diamonds and similarly hard-to-cut objects (as if I'd let a sword cut diamonds, I'm not *gulps and makes prediction* Mihawk!) , like the user is slicing through fruits.
History: This sword once belonged to a swordsman collector and teacher, with the name "Kiira Saito". Now, how he obtained it, it's not certain, but the thing was, this man's real name was "Marco Zest", and he used to be a formidable pirate that sailed the seas for years and made a name for himself. A name and a massive bounty with several zeros that would make many bounty hunters drool. Back to the sword's history, that man, after all those years, and now aged 65, managed to elude all efforts to be captured, and eventually he managed to reach the outskirts of the North Blue ocean, and managed to hide his identity (his now old age was helpful adding the fact that he was playing the game of "dead" for a few years already), and settle down in a small island. An island called "Magenda". There, he decided to create a swordsmanship school, because, he happened to love swordsmanship, and while he was a pirate, he wasn't one of those horrible, thug-like bastards that attacked everyone and stole goods. He was of that other kind, those who loved the romance of adventure. And so he created this school, kinda like a dream to him, and named it "Ocean Ripple". Not exactly relevant with swords as a name, but whatever.
About this island, while it was rather small, and only had one city there, it was a city where many nobles lived. Amongst those noble families was a family with a troubled child, one that would constantly run away from the house, cause all sorts of trouble, and generally rebelled, not wanting to live in a life fool of lies and cold, evil money. That boy, Azuke was his name, went to this school and was the first, and one of the few, people that actually decided to go there and be taught of the ways of the sword. "Saito" wouldn't really charge anything, he was doing his passion, in other words, the lessons were free, yet not so many people went, because, nobles are nobles, and normal people aren't exactly that eager to grab a blade, or a piece of bamboo, and begin hitting others with them. Azuke was one of the most loyal students, going there to train everyday. More of all this in Azuke's history however.
Long story sort, since most of this is part of this boy's history and not the sword's itself, Saito's identity was uncovered, and he was caught. And sentenced to die. In the execution, which happened at that very same city, Azuke was present, and while the handcuffed Saito was walking alongside his soon to be executors, he passed next to the crying boy and whispered him something.
After the execution, Azuke went to the school, and following the dead man's tip, he discovered Shiro Sazanami, alongside a small note that said: "To my greatest student, I leave this sword. Take it, and become whatever your heart tells you. There's no wrong in you if you follow your dreams and heart."
Years later (again, more of this in Azuke, or rather, "Shadow"'s history section (soon to come)), the boy was no longer a boy, and he left, searching his way to become a pirate. That was what he wanted to become, a pirate. About the loose fabric wrapped around the hilt, again, part of Shadow's history, but long story sort, it was wrapped there by a person that Shadow befriended that was very important to him. A person that died, due to the betrayal of a certain man. Having survived all his ordeals, the man nicknamed Shadow, by him, along with this sword, aims to find that man and beat him, and then and only then, he can continue on with his pirate, as well as swordsman, dreams.
