History: DeeDee's existense was not supposed to exist. DeeDee is a creature that came ten years ago to life thanks to the powers of the Living Living Fruit. Originally being a doll, his purpose was none other than to decorate rooms and be used as a way to entertain while the kids were playing. That was the only reason that he was designed and created. However, all these things were about to change when the doll was one day dropped by his previous owner who had grown up and was bored of playing with dolls. As a result, he firstly ended up in a trash can.
However, that was not the end for the doll. The doll was found by a person who was usually searching through trash in order to find useful things. He could see that the doll was pretty old and he took it in an attempt to sell it. For some time, the man was trying to sell the doll, saying that it was some kind of antique, but nobody would buy it. As a result, after a while, the man also dropped the doll in another trash can, only to be found by a third person.
This time, the person who found him was a poor cleaner of trash cans and as he had no money to pay for dolls for his kids, he decided to keep the doll and give it as a gift to his beloved children. The man took the doll, he cleaned it and the same night he gave it to his children as a surprise gift. The children were way too happy with the gift and they would play with the doll for many, many years until they also grew up. As this was one of the few dolls that the children had to remember from their childhood, they decided to never throw the doll. However, there were some problems with this. The owners were two and they both wanted to keep the doll. As a result, they did not know what to do. For some time, they would argue with each other about who would keep the doll, but in the end they found a solution. They decided to play a game of rock-scissors-paper. The winner would get the doll while the loser would get the doll's clothes to have something to remember from it. As a result, the doll was separated from its original clothes and it was given to the winner. The doll from that point was serving as a decoration in the room of the man. The time was passing, though... And the more the man was growing up, the less he would play with the doll.
Seeing that the doll was serving no purpose in his hands, he decided to donate it to the charity of his place so that it would be given to some children in the orphanage of the town. And so it happened. The doll was given to some people of the town's charity and was later passed to the town's orphanage. Now, the doll was under the control of more hands. Many children were playing with it and now it actually served its true purpose. It was a doll that was bringing happiness to many children and was actually pretty useful. But, there was a problem. Even if the doll had many owners that took care of it and dressed it and played with it, not all the owners were good. There were bad people in the orphanage which would harm the doll. As a result, one day, a child cut the doll's arm from the rest of the body and threw the doll at a trash can. The doll had now once again ended up in a trash can.
This was not the end, once again, though. Luckily for the doll, a person accidentally threw some things which were valuable for him at the same trash can. As a result, while he was searching for those things, he fould the doll with the broken arm and he took it along with him. He could see that the doll was a pretty old model and he deemed it pretty interesting. The person was a collector of old things. Now that was a coincidence. The doll that was once saved by a person to be sold as an antique and was later dropped for not being sold, was about to be found by a person who was collecting old things! The man took the doll at his house and he fixed the arm with some tape. Even if the arm was not completely sticked to the body and was slowly being cut off again, - what could a tape do anyway -, it was in a good shape and in a pretty clean condition. The man was paying attention at his items, and along with them at his doll.
However, the years would pass and the man would grow old. The man grew up and he eventually becoming pretty old. He ended up in a bed and after many years of being sick, he passed away and he left all his items to his son. His son, though, did not actually like these items. He deemed them as nothing more than trash and so he threw them to no other place than the trash can. The doll that had been through so many things had ended up in the garbage once again.
That time, though, the doll's fate would change forever. Luckily for the doll, once again, it was not dropped deeply inside the trash can. It was dropped outside and so it could be seen by anybody who would pass next to the can. Many people would pass next to it but would not pay attention to the doll. All except from an old man... An old man who could see that this doll was older, much older than anybody else around the place. He could see that the doll had been through many things and that it changed many hands. As a result, he decided to not leave it in the garbage. The man took it with him inside his house.
The man was a fruit user and he was none other than the user of a fruit that allowed him to give life to inanimate objects. Inside his house, the old man had various things which were alive, including a suit and others. The man used his fruit ability on the doll and the doll was brought to life. Ever since that time, he was not an item. Ever since that time, he was not an "it". He was a different creature, a creature that could walk and speak and he could think. He was now...alive.
However, the man would soon be chased for his actions. The suit that he brought to life was belonging to a member of a government assassination unit and it happened to be a form of weapon. The Government took the man away and killed him, while the clothes, Suit was his name, run off to the seas in order to extract his revenge. The other objects eventually disappeared and the doll, which was simply called Doll, did not really have a purpose of existence.
The doll was lurking in the streets of the town and he was searching for food at no other places than the trash cans. Those cans... These used to be his whole life... Without them, Doll did not really know what he would be. If it was not for them, there would not be his existence. Life used to guide him to that place...
However, one day, the doll would be accidentally found by a doctor. The doctor looked at the doll and he decided to take it at his clinic in order to take a look at his anatomy and find out why he was talking. Apparently, the doctor did not know a lot of things about Devil Fruits and so he could not give a logical explanation to Doll's existense. At first, the relationship of the two was that of a doctor and a patient, if not a guinea pig. The doll was afraid of the man and the man was just viewing the doll as a creature that would give him reputation as he was trying to find out how non-living things would come to life to earn a big reputation for himself as the doctor who made non-living corpses come back to life. But, no matter how much hard he tried, he would not actually succeed at doing anything and he finally realized that whatever the doll was saying to him was real. At first, he could not believe that a fruit like that existed but he could not give another explanation for Doll. As a result, with the passage of the time, he believed the story of the doll and so he tried to understand him more.
The next six years, the two of them were talking with each other. The doll was telling at the doctor stories about his previous owners and the ways they handled him. After all, as he could actually think, he could also remember things that happened around him, even if he was not really alive at that time. On the other side, the doctor would tell the doll stories about his experience with patients and how he treated various patients in a bad condition. This awakened the interest of Doll about medicine and he eventually became the assistant of the doctor. He managed to learn many things regarding the human body, medicine. He was a very good student and he learned all the things that the doctor could offer him.
The assistant, though, would not stay at the road of his master. He wanted to make his own way until the end of his own line. Other than the practical knowledge over the treatment of sick people and how to make them feel better, the doll studied books regarding surgeries as well as psychology. He wanted to become a master doctor and do things that other doctors at his level were unable to do. Seeing several different patients, he understood that sometimes their sickness was coming or was becoming worse because they were actually thinking of it for a reason. And so, the doll became a good psychologist, except from being a good doctor. He surpassed his professor and his professor was happy about it. He was a fully acknowledged doctor by his professor and now he was called Doctor Doll or DeeDee in short.
Despite that, even if the doll became a good doctor, there was one more problem. Some people accused the doctor of being a wizard and that he supposedly created the doll with magic and people started a witchhunting against the doctor and the doll. While the doctor was caught and burned, DeeDee managed to escape by sneaking into a ship and moving unnoticed thanks to his very small size. And that was how his journey around the seas began...
Personality: DeeDee is a creature that has great respect for life. Because of the fact that he was not supposed to actually exist as a living creature, he is against killing people and that is the main reason that he grew an interest for medical jobs. He wanted to support life and he wanted to try to find a cure for death. Even if during his time of studying medicine he found out that there was no way to cure death, he still valued his job and he still kept the interest he had at the start. He will never be bored of information that have to do with curing and helping people and he will fight against those who do not treat life the way they should. Those who do not have respect for life, in his eyes they are nothing more than scums and he hates them. Obviously, he does not hate them to the point that he would want them dead, as this goes against his ideals, but he shows some disrespect against them and talks in a very rude way to them. Also, DeeDee is a perverted doll. As a result, whenever he sees beautiful women that he has to treat, he receives nosebleeds (this is a comical aspect of DeeDee as he is a doll and has no blood at all).
