New world's hidden island, The Coalition of Cillia (for an upcoming plot event)

Name: Cillia, gem of the new world
Flag: A large banner with blue borders on either side of a dark green square, the borders contain center facing grey seahorses and the green square has a white circle inside it around which is positioned a horizontal facing golden band. The blue is for the curtain of water that walls off the island, the green is for the rich and fertile lands, the seahorse is a symbol for co-operation, steadiness and contentment, grey for neutrality, the white circle represents the harvest moon, the culmination of a season of efforts for workers and the gold band represents unity.

Ruler/Territory: Though the island acts as a democracy and is therefore under no-ones rule and not owned as a territory it is a newly formed government headed by elected leader Sano Luna
-Geography: Cillia is a fairly typical landmass in terms of its shape and origin as a volcanic island, the island itself is highest in its center and slopes gradually toward the shore, it is however a unique island in the new world as it enjoys a position off of the log post’s various routes to one-piece, and is therefore rather difficult to locate. Several natural features have worked to change the geographic features of the island, in addition to manmade ones; the unique current at the islands shore, formed by what was once volcanic activity shifting down in to underwater vents causing a surge of water flowing up like a wall from the shore and down around the other side, causing a reverse waterfall and a current of water pushing away from the island on all sides in the sea, under the water this has craved a natural trench of calm warmer waters which makes a hospitable zone for fishmen and marine life, protected by a powerful away facing current. Manmade mines have been carved in to the rocky landscape of the midlevel elevations of the island and man dug trenches have served to create irrigation ducts in addition to wells. The landscape is now dotted with buildings and dwellings as civilization begins to take hold over it.
-Weather: Though technically a “spring” island Cillia exhibits multiple climates due to its various elevations; at its base nearest to the beaches the cool mist from the waterfall coastline and refracted sunlight have created rainforests teaming with life and lumber which experience mist in the midday and rains typically in the mourning’s or early evenings. Up the slope of the island where the mist breaks the sun has worn the land in to a slightly more arid, Mediterranean moderate climate that experiences all four seasons with very mild winters and summers, and up the island still toward its gentle peak the climate becomes more dry and temperate, primarily rocky with grassy patches throughout, though precipitation is more rare here the seasonal temperature difference is somewhat greater than the lower elevations.
-Population: For such a small nation the island’s inhabitants are strangely diverse, and entirely made up of recent immigrants as it was formerly unpopulated. It is one of very few nations to house fishmen, humans, longarm tribesmen and nearly every common race and from many different ethnic backgrounds, however the bulk of the population comes from the lower if not lowest branches of outside society. “those to weak to be depreciable for pirates and marines and to unlucky to be rich or noble” was the ordinal intent to be the nations target citizens however over time a few former pirates, marines, bounty hunters and revolutionaries renounced their former allegiances and moved to the island. Equally diverse to the types of people that immigrate to the island are their occupations and talents and range in skill sets but regardless of their diversity the island is sparsely, if not under populated given its size, though people are scarce the opportunity for work and steady living for even the most unskilled citizens is very high.
-Wildlife: Though the island remained for the better part uninhabited for the majority of its existence till recently several types of oceanic birds and a unique array of marine and plant life, the birds catch fish that flow up the reverse waterfall that borders the coats of the island and feed on them on the shores, though some prefer seeds nuts and insects found on the rainforest floor. The middle altitudes of the island house the various farm animals housed by the citizens, as well as the villages themselves and the higher altitudes of the island are a host to a few goats and who feed on the grassy patches. In the summer an array of more colorful birds from the tropics arrive to feed on the rainforest’s fruits which become plentiful in the season.
-Economy and production: The island itself is rich in natural resources from being uninhabited for hundreds of years before its formation, the climate is highly conducive to the growth of various plants and animals and its soil is rich with various usable sediments and metamorphic rocks, plenty of building materials from the stony flats and heavy rain-forested areas that cover the better part of the island and undisturbed, dense soil for planting. The island has a few natural deposits of ores and minerals as well as a burgeoning agriculture. Rejecting the Beli Cilia remains more of a bartering and communal system for the time being until a currency might be established. Cillia is fortunate to have just enough necessities for all its citizens but has next to no wealth or luxuries to speak of, consisting of only basic goods and services, trade is beginning to take shape but is decidedly limited to the local population.
-Defense: Cillia has quite a few natural features in its favor as far as defense is concerned, perhaps the greatest of which is its position off of the log post, keeping pirates in pursuit of one piece away. Second most is the strong current pushing the surface of the water, making sailing to the island on wind alone nearly impossible as the vessel will be pushed in the opposite direction and pushed away, next comes the literal wall of water bordering the entire island on all sides pushing down in to a torrent of powerful waters, warding away. The privileged position at the summit of the island gives a commanding view of the coast around it and of the air above, so keeping watch over the entire area becomes simple. It is naturally well defended, though no man made defenses yet exist on the island to date.
-Military: Cillia is a young nation; though it has a highly motivated populace it lacks any formalized military to speak of. Though in the event of an attack the islands citizens would defend themselves they have no plans to launch attacks or campaigns of any kind in the future and so would possess, at best a local militia. Guided by a strict doctrine of non-violence what little martial force the island could muster exists to push back or disarm invaders, never aggressively dispatch with them. An armed neutrality Cillian forces have no alliances or enemies officially and take no position in the struggles of the world government, revolutionaries or pirate crews.
-Philosophy and beliefs: Cillia is a nation founded on a very solid core of ideas, principally very different from that of the world government; rejecting any notion of class stratification, caste systems or monarchical lineage found in the world government, as well as the power and glory based values of pirates and instead focused entirely on rule by equality, giving its citizens extensive rights unseen in pirate territories or world government nations. Not affording themselves the crutches of prejudice Cillians abhor separatism or preconceived value between the races and former classes of its people, and dismiss all ties to a system which would practice them. Cillia is primarily concerned with freedom of labor, and the rights to enjoy that labors fruits with out taxation or pillaging and is founded on the idea that the common men and women of the world are its most valuable people, that the weak and unskilled constitute all the wealth and glory the strong and high born enjoy, for this reason Cillia believes thoroughly in giving its citizens the opportunity to improve their life quality and learn trades and skills, as well as in charity toward the less fortunate of its peoples. Above all Cillian ideals resists violent lifestyles and attitudes, undertaking a doctrine of non-violent solutions and, if necessary, nonlethal means of defense, preferring to build up rather than tear down.
-Government: Cillia is a unique government in the world of one piece, first and foremost because it exists as a democracy. Though it is less than three years old at present and its full system of laws and constitution have yet to entirely be fleshed out it stands as the only place in the world where citizens are formerly aloud to chose their leaders and have an active voice in decisions of state. Closer to a true democracy voting is often used to decide how to handle larger issues and all citizens are welcome to attend meetings where affairs of state are discussed. Cillia sees calls itself a coalition rather than a kingdom and holds great promise and potential for its ever growing population.

History:
The landmass that is now Cillia began as an undersea volcano an unknown number of years before its discovery in the uncharted new world. For a very long time eruptions built the inhospitable terrain up from the sea until a deep-sea earthquake shifted the volcano’s internal structure, causing the flow of magma to shift from the crater to a series of newly formed sills at its base, which suddenly gave way to a series of heated vents which erupted in to the torrents and waves caused by the earthquake to cause a unique type of new-world current, the waterfall curtain, from then on the volcano was changed in to an ordinary, gently sloped mountain of an island which grew in size as the surface cooled. As decades passed the island, having become protected from most forms of new-world weather by the curtain of water began to develop plant life, and soon the landscape was shaped in to what it was when it was later discovered, a vast, unpopulated wilds hidden away by a vale of water.
When the island was first discovered, it was done so, as fate would have it, tragically. A crew of vigilantes from the south blue had taken their crusade against piracy and corrupt marines to the new world when, after a series of very unsuccessful campaigns the ship, damaged and crewed by weary men and women was propelled in to the curtain of water, torn apart and smashed against the rocks below. There were next to no survivors. The few lucky enough to come out alive found themselves trapped on an unfamiliar island with no ship to return, for months they eked out a meager living in the rainforests, among them was a former noble, ex-marine with a strong sense of vision, Sano Luna. While mourning the loss of his crew Sano contemplated the world as a whole, and began to realize the idea he’d been piecing together his entire life of trying to restore balance to the world, the key was not to try and change the worlds nations with force, but to create for himself a nation which was the ideals he’d always valued. This is when the idea of Cillia as a nation was first realized. Within a year the survivors had managed to thrive on the island, with no one captain of a ship any longer decisions were made by voting, and they saw no reason to stop that process. Soon the group devised a way off the island, using the upward current of the wall of water facing the inside of the island they could launch vessels over the wall in to the current pushing them away from the island and sail off, but by then they did so with intent to return. At first they hired carpenters and doctors and workers but soon those hired found reason to stay, and brought their families with them, soon villages began to spring up near the encampment on the fields of the islands hills, they enjoyed life away from an oppressive nobility and an equally oppressive pirate regime, and whats more they began to realize the value in having a say in how their nation was run. Not shortly thereafter the vision of Cillia as a nation came to fruition, though small and new the nation was burgeoning and growing in ways no one had expected.
Over the next two years to follow larger projects, irrigation, mining and quarrying, agriculture, lumber yards, mills, markets, schools and hospitals were built, little by little and by everyone, including the leader the people had chosen, unanimously, Sano Luna. Though they were pleased with their nation, it was clear such few people could not sustain its growth, and so Cillia decided to tell news of their nations opportunity to the least and the weakest of the world outside, to the peasants and workers and poor, to the ones seldom paid attention to by the pirate warlords and ruling kings of the world government. Little by little they came, unskilled and weak, but eager to learn, they were taught literacy, humanities, the finer parts of mathematics and sciences but most importantly they were taught a skill with which they too could make a living and enhance their lives in the young nation. Though morale was high in the early two years Sano began to wonder as he worked with his people, building and shaping his country with his own hands alongside them, that perhaps resources would eventually one day become scarce, and that such an issue could very well be the reason for imbalance and crime in the outside world, Sano began to plan for an answer to this eventuality in the form of a revolutionary idea, devil fruit powered machines that could produce the resources and materials the people needed, with such machines the people of Cillia would never want for necessities again. Sano knew that such a plan was overly ambitious, but still made a note of the devilfruits that might help his country become a utopia, where everyone could be guaranteed the highest quality of life.

I don't know what you are planning for the whole plot event but it looks very cool.

it has to do with the last bit in the history, and the worlds reaction to rumors of a forming democracy, which could be considered sedition to some marines and an island in the new world that could appeal to territory hungry pirates, as well as providing an "Objective good" for characters to consider
