History: Rick lived in a poor crime ridden neighborhood in Alabasta. Disease and death awept through the neighborhood like winds on the ocean. At the age of 8 Rick's grandma was hit with of the most contagious and deadly disease known to the people in Alabasta. She was sent to the small hospital where all diseased ridden people where sent to stop infection. The public visitation was like a prison, and Rick visited everyday despite the warnings from his parents. One day his grandma coughed out blood while Rick was visiting. She feel to the ground and rick jumped over to where she was. He embraced her, but her eyes went white and her final words were "The noblest of the Family will come to Hells Gates and drag me from the Cerebeus's grip and bring me back at the cost of the most precious thing in there life, the one who dies first will take my place and I will wither to ash and dry bone, this is the curse of our family." His grandma's body went limp and she fell to the ground with a loud thud. After hearing this the king decided to disown the neighborhood because of the bad publicity and it was nicknamed "Death's Tavern."

Rick soon got the disease and feared for his life and he walked to the kingdom of Alabasta to get treatment. Everyday Rick's body was beaten and bruised by the harsh desert but made it to Alabasta. He begged the princess to give him treatment for the medicine and she did he became better after a day of taking the medicine. Rick then attempted to assasinate the king but was stopped and thrown in the prison. In his trial since he was so young he was given four options; be executed, rot in prison, be exiled, or community service. He choose community service which was scheduled for 15 years and sent to learn the ways of navigating because he was gonna join the Alabastan army when he was 15.

The chief treated Rick like crap making him clean the dirty floors with his toothbrush and then brush his teeth with it and beating him black and blue stating he has dealt with street rats like Rick and has absolutely had no remorse nor did he have any sympathy. Rick didn't really learn how to navigate until he was 12 and was sent to a different chief. This chief treated all his trainees like they were sons. They loved this chief and the only one who hated him was the cruel chief, chief Steel. Steel said he was to nice but he disagreed and continued teaching them for about 2 and a half years. The chief was mudered and found lying face down on his office floor. Rick dedicated the half of a year he had left to find his murderer, it took him 5 days but he found the murder weapon Chief Steels blade wrapped in bloody tissue and hidden in a garbage can, the bloody tissue was also stuffed in the ind chief's throat and everyone noticed Steel's blade was missing. The king said Rick was free from his work but he decided to stay and join the army. The king insisted he atleast paid him back and he decided that he could be the one to kill Chief Steel. Rick happily agreed but on the day of the execution Chief Steel said he would drag rick to hell and bit on his leg, Rick began to bleed but he got on one knee and stabbed Chief Steel through the forehead with the spear.

Rick took the blade of the kind chief, Chief Stargaze and Chief Steel and decided to not only be a navigator but a swordsmen. He trained many hours in the way of the swordsmen and soon mastered the Niitoryu sword style. He then joined the Alabastan army at age 15 and was put into the naval group because of his amazing navigating skills. He saw the start of the Anubis War as The Anubis Pirates attacked their ships and they surrendered, he gave them a choice join his army or run to Alabasta where they would surely die. Rick was the only one who ran not knowing Anubis's ability to control sand and was buried. He thought he would die but he remembered his grandma's omen and escaped his sand tomb. Rick luckily escaped after the Anubis pirates had advanced on to Alabasta. He took a destroyed piece of the navy ship and sailed off to find "Hells Gate" which is rumored to be in New World


Personality: Rick is a coward and would rather run then fight due to his grandmothers omen. He is determined to save his grandma and will go through thewhole New World to save his grandma and will step on anyone to get there, he is very intelligent and will use people to save his grandma and that is all he thinks about.
